This is the end of an arc that started in season 1 episode 10. They even tied it to season 1 episode 6 with the music choice at the end, which is the one where they abandoned Cronenberg world, the dimension Rick Prime (and the Morty we've been following) originated from. Also, Dan Harmon said in the "Inside the Episode" for this episode that Rick can now finally start living his life because he is finally free from revenge that has been driving him for decades. So in a sense he feels relieved, even though killing Rick Prime didn't really give him any fulfilment.
A lot of people aren’t feeling this season but I’ve enjoyed all the new episodes. Season 7 is my favorite season so far. I hope these last 5 episodes are just as good
I seriously think some people just can’t look past the VA change and if they can truly tell I don’t blame them. For me it’s close enough and I think this season is the best one since 3
honestly if I were to judge the season as a whole then it was pretty bad. Episode 1-3 were a huge miss for me, especially 3. 4 is when it came back around again. This one was pretty good too.
@@YukoValis I really liked those episodes. I understand not everyone will agree but I found myself laughing and really vibing with the stories of those episodes so for me it’s been a great season. These past 5 episodes have been some of the most enjoyable episodes of show for me in a long time
Who would’ve thought that having an overall arc with payoffs would be satisfying. I know Dan Harmon likes to keep it episodic but I’m glad he’s let up on it recently.
dude this episode truly felt like a season finale. I love every time our morty and evil morty interact, their chemistry is great even tho they're the same person. the way rick takes out rick prime was surprisingly visceral even compared to the ridiculous amounts of gore previous episodes and seasons had. And the cherry on top is the song playing when rick and morty first jumped dimensions in season 1. I think that ones either episode six or 7. Dude I'm just so fuckin happy the show is still good
I think Evil Morty earned Rick's respect in that episode. I mean like actual respect and not just for his abilities, but his rationale at the end of the fight. Rick is probably also going to see his Morty in a different way because he knows his grandson has the potential to be just as good if not better than him.
The ending with slo mobius wife has a comparison to Rick. Ricks wife was killed and he couldn’t move on until he got his revenge while slo’s wife started off doing the same searching the universe looking for her husbands killer but was able to eventually move on and fall in love and continue life
don't know if you noticed this, but the post-credits scene is a direct parallel to Rick's Crybaby Backstory from Rickmurai Jack slow mobius was the guy from S1E11 who appeared for a whole 2 seconds during the Rick Dance
The las episode was literally about people turning into spaghetti, I was expecting some silly plot, this episode absolutely blew my mind, I loved every second of it, it was amazing having evil morty and Rick prime in the same episode What a masterpiece this was💗💗
I wouldn’t say evil Morty is “cool” with Rick. He completed Rick’s life’s work in an afternoon to essentially assert dominance. And stole the one weapon that can wipe him out for good.
his rick told him, "you're in or you're out, if you don't want to be in then quit." and decided to leave him drunk and then kill him? wow, you can tell he didn't care.
Easily one of the (if not THE best) episodes of the show. Was a thrillride from start to end and that opening where we see Evil Morty's origin is just simply amazing!
Dude Rick beating up Rick Prime... got dark like you would expect Rick to do those things but like having him laugh while getting beat up was just dark.
That guys wife went through what Rick went through, except instead of Rick and his romantic(?) feelings being shared with Bird Person and rejected/denied, she finds love. Essentially making her path for vengeance come to a halt. Honestly kind of a neat "what if" for Rick shown through her.
This episode was the stuff of legends. Top 3 R&M ever, easily. I am continuously floored that the show this season has reached new heights of amazing since they kicked the mediocre voice actor (and trashbag human) to the curb
i like how the post credit is just a pararell to rick backstory If only Rick moved on, he could have a new wife and a new family.. But he was stuck in a loop of hate
we often think getting revenge brings back what we've lost. not in our mind, but subconsciously. i think most of the world has experienced that, atleast on a small level. when really getting revenge occupies us before we have to face our loss once again. and when revenge is taken care of, we have nothing. because revenge isn't what we wanted..
I know that it’s for the purposes of the show, but the notion of killing off someone from infinity is absurd. And I don’t mean scary absurd I mean stupid absurd. Pictures this; if every thought results in a world being made then of course there’s gonna be another like whoever was “erased.” Also the parents of said “erased” person will still exist, and possibilities/realities/worlds where they make another said erased person will branch off and happen again. Not to mention Evil Rick got lucky on 2 accounts: A. That the omega Device didn’t attract any deity, powerful mortal, or Omni versions Rick’s wife and Slow Mo that could counter and follow the destruction back to the source. and B. The ghosts/spirits of said deceased didn’t come after him all at once. It’s *infinity* . The only thing he did was set the clock/equation back to 0 to start again. However I do hope that you all know that you can’t just replace your other self who got lucky with the life/wife you wanted. Just because things worked out better for him/her doesn’t mean things won’t work out better for you eventually either. (And no I’m not referring to that “love replaces all” c-p they were showing in the end. And I’m not talking about vengeance either. Dead wife or not that prick had to go.)
Honestly, after the first 3 episodes I kinda lost hope for this season and the whole future of the show. But Episode 4 and 5 were actually great. Here's to hope it stays like that.
I think the reason rick doesn't feel good is rather simple. Everything rick prime said was true. Rick became rick prime. He took over rick primes life, his family, his garage. Not to mention in hunting rick prime. Our rick really did become very similar to him. Rick realizes this. Now for what's next. Rick is probably going to go after evil morty so he can get the blueprint for the rick eraser. So rick can erase himself and every other version of him. Because all Rick's are like rick prime.
@@stanvassilevits cuz he thought that ricks that chose their family over science can't rise up to their full potential and are inferior to what a rick "should be", so he killed all the Dianes across the multiverse so that another C-137 isn't born.

Rick prime: "Want a job? We can be like Batman and Robin."
Evil Morty: "I don't need a Robin."
That's a flex.
I did love that line too.
My favorite was when EM says "knock yourself out" to rick 137 after reviving him.
The post credit scene is a replica of Ricks backstory, showing how happy he could’ve been if he had moved in and allowed himself to grieve
You can tell they went all in on this episode might explain a lil why morty was so absent in previous episodes. Awesome episode

I love the callback to Morty's existential crisis after burying himself in the yard. "Look on down from the bridge"

I think what hurts the most about rick's emptiness, it took the help from someone he currently cannot stop
I feel like the episodes keep getting progressively better as the season goes on. This one went absolutely insane.

Oh my gosh Rick misses Diane so much that's he's happy to see her face again, even if it's on a giant robot spider 😢

They should have made this episode into a movie
Wait if Rick prime is dead and evil morty is cool with Rick now, does that mean we're getting doofus Jerry..?
I wouldn’t say evil Morty is “cool” with Rick. He completed Rick’s life’s work in an afternoon to essentially assert dominance. And stole the one weapon that can wipe him out for good.
@@freddier47I mean evil Morty wants to be left alone. so he seems pretty cool with it all
Idk if anyone noticed, but the credits scene was a reference to Morty seeing Rick’s backstory in the Season 5 finale, same music too
Evil Morty made Rick(s) his bitch, damn.
In my opinion this is the best episodes of rick and morty ever

The evil morty's revenge is complete, he takes all of Rick giving him what he wants
I have recency bias but this is probably my favorite episode dealing with any arc stuff
Every episode with Evil Morty in it is just Peak Rick and Morty.

Waiting for Rick to reveal this is still a totally fabricated origin story.
That is what happens when the Rickest Rick meets the Rickest Morty with the Mortyest Morty.
Rick Prime is still alive in the soul of our Rick.
I believe he didn't finish the job
The end of Rick and Morty is going to be DARK
The post credits is what rick shouldve done
Uncle Slo widow couldve been another rick, but she chose to grieve, found love and moved on. Something rick wanted to but couldnt
I guess the ending implies that Rick could've chosen to move on and find someone else for a good life instead of resorting to killing Rick Prime.
this episode is so good and the best one for the new voice actors theres actually zero difference in voice acting this ep
I wonder what happens now. Since Rick finally got his revenge.
Did rick prime die?.......
Yes evil morty destroyed all backups he had also in the script it says "rick beats up prime to death"
yup.
The irony, Rick does owe Evil Morty for the kill.
The end really got to me it showed that the price of revenge is one's soul. 😢 but I hope Rick will recover soon from this trauma. 😢❤
Pretty good episode. I enjoyed it. Glad you enjoyed it too.
I understand why our rick built the central finite curve
Its too much for him to chase prime and explore the infinite
Anyone else get Andrew Ryan Bioshock vibes from the Rick prime beat down?
*give my ghost a kiss* o god what a thing to see high
At this point evil morty is like Rick morty
They better not cheapen the death by saying he didn't really kill him and bring him back at the end
