The Triton was (and is still) an amazing synth. Clever marketing by Korg to come up with a revolutionary synth that carried so much punch in terms of capabilities. The name "Triton" alone still provokes a sense of awe and admiration. The creativity and innovation that went into the Triton was phenomenal. We salute all the folks at Korg who contributed to the design and manufacture of such an incredible piece of machinery.

Nice video. I'm not that deep into hiphop, but gotta say this thing was just as influential in so many other genres too. I still use the thing almost every day, and I produce mainly House and UK Garage. There's just something about the organs and e-pianos on this thing that to this day makes it sound so good to me. A decent sampler and a Triton can do almost everything you need.

And they were DEFINITELY gettin' stolen! 😂 I haven't used it in years, but I replaced the floppy drive with a USB drive a few years ago and got all the files off of the floppy disks because the drive will eventually die and the disks will get corrupted. It happened with my KORG N364 when I went to load up some old school beats - the drive was dead and some floppies were corrupted.

Man, everything you said about this was bang on! I hated what this did to hip hop at that time. I still use MPC2k and s3000xl to this day for the old bop. But maybe it's time to finally get a triton. 😆

I remember renting the triton studio 61 as my very first korg workstation i ever gigged with, 2 months later, i bought a korg m50 as my permanent workstation, but even with the m50, there was something about the triton that always captivated me, so I eventually decided to buy the triton vst, and even the triton taktile 49 hardware synthesizer (the last of the hardware iterations of triton as of today) to take with me everywhere i go, why? Because i always enjoyed the sounds of triton

That Triton had the best radio ready sound patches & drums ever made up to that point. The sounds were actually mastered & practically perfect out the box. Most in stereo & effected already. You didn't have to do anything but set the volume. Any doofus could sound competent with the Triton. It was a serious monster. #GreatPatches
