I am literally about to cry . My mom died 7 years ago and I lost this recipe. My mom made this every year and I completely lost it . I know you may never read this , however if you do - thank you so much . You have absolutely no idea how much this means to me . Thank you for posting this . Thank you so so much .
I lost my mom at age 4, I make recipes from hillbilly mama here for my grands n we so enjoy. U create new wonderful memories ur mama would want for u n extended family. Ur ma lives on thru u. Xx
I'm 33 years old and just now learning to cook. Was born legally blind, and my mama (God rest her soul) was always afraid I'd get burned, so I spent my entire life scared of the stove. I decided I wanted to get over that fear about six months ago, and have spent that time trying to learn all the things about cooking I missed growing up. I've tried to find people to teach me, but I can't afford to take a class, and no one seems to really have time to bother with me, so I turned to the internet! Anyway, that being said, I just want to say I really appreciate this channel. Growing up in the south, it just feels "off" trying to learn to cook from these propper / yankee (lol) chefs. The way you explain things just feels natural and what I'm used to. You also don't use fancy ingredients that literally no one has in the kitchen. Southern people are basic and down to earth, and I just feel really at home learning from you. :) So thanks for making these videos. Also, much respect for giving a nod to Jesus in all your videos. Lots of people are too afraid to do that nowadays. So from one awesome southern lady to another (lol), thank you and God bless! PS: I'm actually making your salmon patty recipe for supper tonight. :D Will get to these cookies next week probably.
The UA-cam is a great place to learn just about everything for free. It is probable better than cooking classes because you can replay a video if you miss something. 😊 Welcome to the Hillbilly Kitchen! God Bless You!
Awesome for you... I agree with Becky, UA-cam is great for learning recipes and how to cook things. She has great recipes for sure. These cookies are my go to recipe. Also.. 3 ingredient peanut butter cookies as well...egg, sugar and peanut butter though I tend to add vanilla. A simple recipe to follow as well. Happy baking to you!! 😊🙏
I think all people have something to offer, if your soul is open to it. All of us have our crosses to bear, its the Joy of the Holy Spirit in our souls that draw others to you. Blindness will never ever be an obstacle to loving yourself and others. Keep trying to cook, I cook with my hands and nose most of the time. I can smell cookies baking as "they bloom" into readiness. I dont even use a timer because I can smell them. I then touch them to test the done ness. So follow recipes like Becky's because her details are wonderful. Remember smell and thouch are your real tools in the kitchen! God Bless, may the Joy of our Lord Jesus Christ be ever present in your Life+
@@diananoonen2262 aaah yes! My mom always said when she backed anything in the oven "when it's ready you'll smell it." Her mom, my grandma was blind a bit later in her life and continued cooking, baking and canning (loved her bread and butter pickles, cinnamon rolls and tuckins) til she couldn't do it anymore. Both mom and gram were amazing cooks. Keep on truckin💕
You are awesome. I live on the Navajo reservation no electricity so will melt butter and add rest of ingredients. Leave over night in cold night air. Thank you. God bless you to whatever Creator you pray to.
I am a 65 Year old Vietnam Era Veteran and I grew up in Morehead, and Olive Hill ,Kentucky and my Grandmothers cooked so many of the dishes that you are cooking here. Thank God I found your site. One of the first things I am going to do is bake these cookies and then I am doing the Potato Cakes!!!!! You are an absolute Star. I lost most of my elders now and that means I lost all of their wonderful Recipes, but thanks to you, I can relive so much of my childhood!!!! Thank you so, so much Becky. God Bless you and your beautiful Family!!!
Thank you Becky! This is the exact same recipe I used in the 70s. I lost that recipe in a flood. But after seeing the ingrediants, and the proportions jogged my memory! I love hearing The Lord's message you always contribute. God Bless You#
I knew you're cookies would come out right judging by the bottom of the cookie, and that lil ring of moisture on the parchment, once you lifted cookie up. Thank you so much, for breaking your cookie apart. That is crucial step, some content creators forget. Your cookies, look so yummy and chewy!
I'm going to make these tomorrow, baking is a great way to stay occupied during these trying times when we're encouraged to stay indoors. Stay safe, God is in control☺
Love that you say put God first, and these are the best cookies. It’s the same process as sugar cookies but just with peanut butter. If anyone is looking at my comment, MAKE THESE COOKIES.
I like it that you tell us not only what and how, but why. Usually when I watch a cooking show, I am always asking myself "why would you do that?" "What difference does that make?" I am more likely to follow a recipe closely if I know why, Thankfully, you answer those questions. I grew up in the south, and your recipes definitely bring back memories.
This has all the ingredients that my mother uses in her peanut butter cookie recipe. The measurements are a teeny bit different. She has used this recipe for over 40 years. The only thing different is that she only started using the baking powder a few years ago. She used to only use the baking soda. That one ingredient, the baking powder, made them taste EVEN BETTER. This is a really nice video. I know your peanut butter cookies taste fantastic!!!
That’s the PB cookies I love… It’s so good to see your beautiful sweet face today. I needed this video today. I lost my sissy Saturday to cancer. It’s been a rough 2 years , a really hard 6 months for her and the last 6 weeks is a blur. I ask for God’s will to be done and he took her home to be with him. Seeing you just reminded me she is at peace… Thank you for just being you. 🙏🏻🇺🇸🙏🏻
Thank you very much. I made them for my friends. Everyone's reaction was. This is a real peanut cookie. I'm a follower. Apriciat your time to teach us all. New ways are not always the better way. Took me back to my moms baking!

I will be baking these old school peanut butter cookies. Love the way you explain the instructions on baking these cookies. Looks delicious. Thank you n God bless you. Put God first I love that quote hunnie.
My mom used to make her peanut butter cookies with a Hershey's Kiss in the middle just before they finished cooking. I believe that's how she mashed the balls down. She did this at Christmas, but they became so popular that's the way she made them for the rest of her days. Blessings.
Sooo they just came out of the oven and i let them rest for a couple of minutes and THEN.. i tasted... ohhh yes it does bring back memories... my mom use to make them.. i am 68 so that was a long time ago memory. absolutely delicious. love this recipes... thank you.!!!
These are delicious cookies. I always put my cookie dough in the fridge for at least 3 to 4 hours before baking them. Cookies seem to be more sturdy when you refrigerate the cookie dough first. These cookies are one of my favorites, and they are good for you too. Thank you for sharing all of your good foods and delicious desserts with all of us. God Bless you.
OMG.... My mom used to make Peanut Butter cookies when I was a little girl. It’s very rare I eat cookies or peanut butter however, I wanted to make these cookies for my mom because she just loves cookies. I made these cookies, followed the recipe to the T and they came out Delicious..!!!! I even ate two of them and then I had two with my coffee the next day.. lol.. So yummy!.. My brother and his family, my friend my mom and my 94 year old grandma just loved them. They all want me to make some more. Thank you for this yummy recipe!
These look wonderful. I'm going to make these for my husband. He LOVES home made PB cookies and I'm hoping this recipe is like the ones I used to get when I was a kid! May God Bless all of you!
So kind of her to explain about scooping the dough before cooling in the fridge. But to cool it so they raise, and how to slide the fork. I never knew that and just did not use the fork at all.
Yay! I just happen to be making cookies today. Just finished my chocolate vanilla caramel bars and am ready to start a batch of peanut butter cookies. So glad I watched your video Sister. Now I know to cream and fluff the butter first! Thank you and God bless you and your family!
I loved these cookies that the school cafeteria served in the 1970s 😋. Lord’s will, planning to make tomorrow. Please say a prayer for me 🙏 that they come out delicious .
I love those memories. In those days everybody had those big cans of peanut butter the government passed out. That was some good peanut butter and a can would make a lot of cookies 😋
I have broken several scoopers on refrigerated dough. Forming the cookies before refrigeration is best. I also form the dough into cookies, freeze the dough on a cookie sheet and pop the frozen ones into labeled zipper bags to keep for later.
My mom would let me press the fork in, I loved being a part of making cookies. I like peanut butter cookies that are crispier and kind of sandy in the mouth.
My Mom used to make PB cookies with a highly similar recipe - no salt & add chocolate chips. Reminds me of her & those tasty cookies - Thank you Miss Becky!
When we were little and my sister and I stayed with our grandmother, she would bake the most wonderful pound cakes. But my sister liked them better when they fell so she would run through the kitchen and the poundcakes would fall.. They were still wonderful.😊
You do a great job with your channel, love your recipes. So many of your recipes remind of my childhood growing up in a family with 6 kids in the 50s and with/by parents who had toughed out the Great Depression in their own childhoods and then fought WW2 during their young adulthood and luckily survived. Luv Peanut Butter cookies, always my fav.We always fought over licking beaters, spoon and mixing bowl, lol.
I have been waiting for you to come out with peanut butter cookies. This video I will watch then play it over to do exactly what you do. I want the best cookies for my family and this is where I'll get them. Thank You Sweet Becky ❤️
Blessings to you Love your receipes, watching from Australia, have tried some & they were all yummy. We do put God first in our home, love the sign Jesus Is Lord. We have one in our sitting room. Love to all the family. marion
This is so similar to how I make them. I should use more brown sugar to get that chewy soft cookie. They are my favorite and they smell the best cooking in the oven. God bless
These turned out delicious! I made some to look old fashioned with the fork tine decoration and some I placed 3 PB candies on top and pressed them a little with a glass. The family will be appreciating me today… thanks to you sister Becky! 🍪 🤎
Hi Becky I learned a trick to blending dry ingredients in a. bllender is to drape a kitcben. towel over your bblender before blending your dry ingredients to prevent dry ingredients from flying all over you and your kitchen. I love your videos. Nancy
These are my husband's favorite cookie. Last year my daughter made some, he walked in just as she took them out of the oven and grabbed one off the pan. It was so hit he dropped it on the floor, he burned his hand, but still picked it up, and ate it. 😄.
Oh my heart! What I wouldn't give to have one of those delicious cookies right now! Thank you for sharing your recipe. I am going to try it right away! :)
I'm sure someone has already said this, but instead of smashing down with a fork, just put the cookies right in the oven and after you let them sit for a couple minutes after baking, push down a hershey's kiss right in the middle and you have what we used to call peanut blossoms.
The good Lord willing, i will try to make these tomorrow. I live in Colombia S.A. and until recently, i have only found peanut butter in small packages...about one half cup... not enough for cookies. So when i saw a giant jar in a shop that sells N.American products... i was so happy that i will finally be able to make these AND i just found this recipe a few minutes ago!!!!!!
Thank you for replying and i just wanted you to know that you are so precious and a sweet testimony to the love of the Lord Jesus Christ. You also explain directions well and make important suggestions. so glad i found your channel.@@TheHillbillyKitchen
In our family growing we had/made Chocolate Chips cookies, Peanut Butter cookies, and Sugar cookies, with Butter Cream Frosting. These are still some of my favorite cookies.
Thank you for keeping your channel going. I know that hurt can make you give up but you are a blessing. My daughter, her husband and my grandsons all are allergic to peanuts but I just bought a jar of WOWBUTTER and thought i’d look for a peanut butter cookie recipe and there it is, just today. My grandmother used to roll her daughter up in wax paper and like a tube you’d buy at the grocery store and after they chilled she’d slice them and bake them and they were wonderful. I wonder if you could do that with these cookies and slice them and not have to do the balls.
I JUST LOVE, LOVE, LOVE WATCHING YOU. I JUST HAVE TO SEND YOU A HUGE HUG. WILL MAKE THESE SOON! God Bless your sweet heart and all your family as well.

These cookies are like the ones I used to make. I had lost the recipe and was heartbroken. Thank you so much. For sharing this with us! 🥰🤗
With all the recipes that I've seen for peanut butter cookies this by far is the best.
These turned out delicious! I made some to look old fashioned with the fork tine decoration and some I placed 3 PB candies on top and pressed them a little with a glass. The family will be appreciating me today… thanks to you sister Becky! 🍪 🤎
Today especially I needed to hear your message, Miss Becky. This peanut butter cookie recipe is a bonus. 💜
Hi Becky I learned a trick to blending dry ingredients in a. bllender is to drape a kitcben. towel over your bblender before blending your dry ingredients to prevent dry ingredients from flying all over you and your kitchen. I love your videos. Nancy
My very favorite cookie!!! Love your details when cooking. Have a blessed day everyone.
These are my husband's favorite cookie. Last year my daughter made some, he walked in just as she took them out of the oven and grabbed one off the pan. It was so hit he dropped it on the floor, he burned his hand, but still picked it up, and ate it. 😄.
I want to thank you for having a verse in you video pics. I don't alway have time to watch right then but I ALWAY read the verses. God bless. From TN.
I love the simplicity of this recipe, thanks for sharing 😋
Oh my heart! What I wouldn't give to have one of those delicious cookies right now! Thank you for sharing your recipe. I am going to try it right away! :)
A couple weeks?? You definitely don’t understand me and peanut butter! I’ve been saving your recipes lately, thanks for sharing!
I'm sure someone has already said this, but instead of smashing down with a fork, just put the cookies right in the oven and after you let them sit for a couple minutes after baking, push down a hershey's kiss right in the middle and you have what we used to call peanut blossoms.
Oh my word..the grands gonna love THESE..thank u..
Not a baker, but I’m trying your peanut butter cookies. I appreciate the tip about sliding the fork when you cross-cross. God loves you!
Thank you! God bless you!
Thanks Becky. God bless you.
Made these today and they are the best. Thank you
Just made thes delicious peanut butter cookies! My son and husband are big fans! Love this channel!
Made them! They are so good. Can't wait to share with the grands.
I make mine with whole wheat flour and I seem to be much softer they don’t get hard I love that
The good Lord willing, i will try to make these tomorrow.
I hope you enjoy them 😊 God Bless You!
I love this peanut butter cookie recipe and I will definitely be making it for my kids God bless❤
I just made these cookies, but I turned them into peanut blossoms by adding a Hersey kiss after they came out of the oven . So yummy!!!
I make the easy PB cookies, everyone loves them! 1 cup PB,1 cup sugar, 1 egg. Never fails to please!
If you put flour or sugar on the fork that helps to keep it from sticking.
Your stuff turns out 👍 God is #1
Thank you very much, God bless you!
I JUST LOVE, LOVE, LOVE WATCHING YOU. I JUST HAVE TO SEND YOU A HUGE HUG. WILL MAKE THESE SOON! God Bless your sweet heart and all your family as well.
God bless you always becky
