    Hopefully picking one of these up this Saturday and reluctantly! Over ridden over many years and my legs have paid the price. Wish me luck..The last thing I wanted to do on Earth is go Electric and spend the money. Replacement motors £700 and replacement batteries £400. BUGGER!.

    Just covered over 3,000 miles since January this year. An Incredibly chunky ride. Perfect for the potholed and cratered roads of the Ribble Valley. 😁

    Very nice video without the sucky attitude of some of the pro’s. I tried the bike for the first time yesterday and was blown away by three things :
    1. The (belt driven and silent) Brose motor and
    2. The phat Boots
    3. It nimbleness. This things really is a trail ripper.
    For the money this HT is a stunning piece of kit.

    • @BarryMountford
      @BarryMountford  4 роки тому +1

      Yes totally agree! The browse motor is lovely and silent and the turbo settings is the quickest ( or at least feels the quickest ) I have used. All around it’s a great experience.

    I thought you were James Arthur when the video started 🤩 good video though. Can’t get one of these at the moment, Decathlon seem to be out of stock most times and the few they get go quickly. Can’t remember the last time I saw the orange version in stock on their site. Now looking at the Haibike Sduro Hardtail 1.0 for around the same money. Wanted the Brose motor though, but the lack of service or repair centres compared to Bosch or Yamaha motors is putting me off. Brose have done an update on the Brose T motor after lots of complaints about belts snapping. So I’m wondering if there any problems relating to the Brose S fitted to the Rockrider e- st900. Maybe the delays in deliveries will benefit me as about this time of year manufacturers release their latest 2021 model cycles. I would hate to buy a bike and find a new version out in a months time. Good things come to those who wait - I hope 👍

    Is it the one where you pedal once and it pushes you to a certain speed, or is it a gradual assistance?

    I've had it since a month. After 2 weeks (150 km), the chain suddenly broke, when driving on the street (no heavy terrain). Very annoying. Luckily enough I was able to go to Decathlon the same day (after making an appointment). Three guys worked on it for 45 minutes, put on a new chain and adjusted the derailleur, tested the bike etc all for free. They said the chain might still break or the bike may produce weird sounds, but I haven't noticed this. Apart from that I love this bike. There is a chance it won't be available in the future anymore, so I got a collectors item now :-).

    Thanks for review. Now they are 2K but still highly rated. So, so tempted but want to at least sit on one before ordering. What’s the deal if don’t like it? Seems a lot of money if that the case. Hope the trek is still doing well? Any problems as mate has the model up and wants to sell as it’s an xl frame size and too big for him really. It’s a few years old so I have some concerns about the battery though. Can you check it like with a phone how much it’s degraded? I’m 6 2 so may try that if you say its similar to the one in your review. Cheers ATB.

    • @BarryMountford
      @BarryMountford  3 роки тому +1

      Yes you can get the battery checked at a dealers or a Bosch certified repair Center, I am not sure if the 2k price tag is worthy now as it has way more competition in that price bracket although still a great bike and considering the inflated prices are solely down to supply and demand caused by firstly Brexit and then the Pandemic , my friend recently bought a cube reaction 625 for £2100 new and it looks great and rides superb, you can get some great deals on second hand bikes now. The Trek is still great thanks, I still do not regret spending that kind of money on a bike.

    I own it and I love it. It is a little too small for me though, I'm 1.90 m and bought the Large. The position of the drinkholder is also annoying. Sometimes the bike makes a weird metallic sound. You do need to go for a smaller size if you planning on proper tec riding it is a big bike, I am 6ft and the large is a little to large, and at 19st but I can happily get 60mils if left in eco apart from the occasional boost up the hill. The specs on this bike are in my opinion ahead of anything in the same price range. Like the air front suspension its so so good. done over 200 mls and not disappointed. It always makes me smile. I have the est520, just got it yesterday. I can hear a slight noise from the front brake rotor area when travelling at a decent speed. It’s almost like a scraping metal noise. It’s quite quiet though and only happens when travelling at good speed. It doesn’t happen all the time either. Plus, if I spin the wheel when stationary, there is no noise. Unfortunately due to the situation we are all in they haven’t yet been able to get me a small and online is all sold out! But they have gave me a full refund, I must say they have been great they let me keep hold of the bike which I rode 300 miles on and refunded me instantly when they couldn’t give me a date when a new one would be available, great service ! Just waiting for them to come back into stock.

      @@davidfleming6005 I am 5ft 8 and that bike felt very agile and great fun, I now own a trek powerfly 4 and the assistant recommended a large which feels like a cruising bike because of the longer length, think I preferred the smaller bike but it all depends on how you are intending to ride it. Hope that helps.
