Okay, so I’m an old person and had to look up what “dab” meant. It’s some kind of hip hop dance move I guess. Why was it not cool for him to do that? Just trying to understand why this is freaking so many people out.
His awkwardness and his goofiness make him look hot and cute at the same time. People get bore to self-perfectionisms that Timothée shows us in a way that its ok to be imperfect and that most important, is to be and accept who we are.

I hope he doesn't. One scene at the end where he makes himself cry doesn't make him Oscar worthy and being straight but playing a gay role also doesn't make you Oscar worthy. He did a good job but overall this kid has a lot of growing up to do. He failed at not showing appreciation to the gay community who supported this movie and made it go mainstream,.

I love him so much! Honestly he is the most genuine and humble person in Hollywood rn. And he’s such a fanboy I love it! His performance in CMBYN warranted an award. He deserved this win. What a sweetheart
I think I know why he is such a great actor and a wonderful human too. His whole demeanour speaks that he was always supported and loved unconditionally by those close to him and brought up to value proximity and contact. He had the freedom to expose his emotions, to feel comfortable in his own body, to be tactile and loving (look at him holding mum's hand at the Oscars!). Saiorse and Greta said that he was nuzzling them on the set of Lady bird. He is also aware of Armie's body all the time when they are around each other - rubbing his stubble, cuddling up to him, putting his head close to him to hear him whispering something. He is an open soul who loves feeling physically close to people who are after his own heart. This is why Elio's sensuality and unabashedness seemed so organic and believable.
Think you nailed it. I notice him putting his arm around Saiorse and leaning into her, as well as being so physically comfortable with Armie. This must be why even though I’m one of the few who aren’t in LOVE with him, Id still bloody love to cuddle with the chap!

Rewatching this, I still feel a lot of things about that speech and what he said, but most importantly, because he's a breath of fresh air and has an innocent gaze, he reminds everyone in the room/industry how lucky they are to be where they are and how great it is to have such a luxury, how powerful and creative they can be. People look at him and smile because they realize that and feel happier and more grateful. I feel like it's one of the reasons people just love him, aside from how adorable, nice, [...] funny he is.

Look, I loved his role in Call Me, but Gary Oldman delivered phenomenal performence, therefore he deserved his Oscar. No point starting flame wars.
Maczeta Maczeta I think that ultimately depends on one's perspective. Oldman is an amazing actor and his Churchill was another great demonstration of that but playing a historical figure under a ton of prosthetics isn't really "a challenge" anymore - I mean, right across from Oldman when he was onstage was Meryl Streep and who remembers what garnered her Oscar #3? - and in the same year, you had Daniel Day-Lewis retiring with one of the most demanding performances of his career because of how revealing and nuanced it is and then Chalamet who stood above both. But that's just me. I love Gary Oldman but would rather have seen him won for "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy".

Also the man who won best actor had been accused of sexual assault and many actually didn’t want him to win. Similar to Casey Affleck winning last year despite the allegations.
