I saw the behind the scenes for this one, after they left the tank Barbara called to make sure they knew she was out
😂😂😂
You are on your way with this one
😂
top 10 most original shark tank comments of all time
🤣🤣🤣
1M for 25% gotta be one of the best offers on the show
what Im saying!!
thats only a 4M valuation - small.
how?
Not to mention I can get away better hammock with a zipper top 4 less than a quarter of that price off of which yes! It's amazing these people I'm just going to make stupid product that opens a tomato real quick and keeps the seeds so you can regrow them and sell it for five billion dollars to the sharks I mean you do realize this is all fake and scripted and all taken care of before they even get into the shark tank
@@team3383trust me, that’s looking like at least a 20 mil company
Daniel is super kind, I didn’t even know he was a billionaire. His behavior is like so humble
Yeah when you told that I googled and he's worth 2.1B 😮 Humble man
He offered them $500,000 for 25% and they countered at $1,000,000 for 25%. And he accepted. That's insane.
Original offer was 1 mil for 33% but he started saying we may not need the million right away 😂. And then Lori got in. They got lucky with the 25%, should’ve went 28% just to show they gave ground but they are lucky he liked them 😂. Seems like a great dude to work with, both guys actually
These people were extremely lucky that he went down to 25%. They almost blew their chance.
nah they were high balling them...
nah he really wanted it you could tell i was thinking say 27% 25 is reasonable
@@orange6208he gave them 10x on net profit for a year that didn’t happen yet 😂. They got a great offer but he destroy it, basically said what round? Meaning he’ll fund anything. 33% would’ve worked for them also.
Thank you for not revealing the ending in the title. The title is perfect. It hooks us without giving away the ending.
Barbara: "I fell out of a hammock when I was little so, therefore I'm out."
Barbara: I love your product. I think you're fantastic, your business is phenomenal, and your valuation is perfect. I've been waiting for years for someone like you to come into the tank; in fact, I dare say you are the single greatest entrepreneur we've ever seen, with the greatest business we've ever seen. This product will change hundreds of millions of lives for the better, and generate hundreds of billions in revenue. I think you're beautiful, and I love you. For those reasons, I'm out.
Gd these make me laugh too much 😂🤣
Spot on!!
XD
I read this in her voice too🤣🤣
I know where this was going the minute I read "Barbara" but my dumbass still read the whole thing 😂
Did you notice they didn't even try out how the hammock feels? If I'm spending 1M I would try it first!
Bro - nobody is throwing away a million dollars without trying on the hammock or doing deep research into the company finances. The actual pitch goes on for like 45 mins. What you see here is the edited version.
They don’t show the whole 45 min - 2 hour pitch. It’s clipped in every episode
If the SHARKS in this episode and the whole 45 minutes to 1 hour or 2 hours that they talk had tried these hammocks ? 🤔 ? If they would have you think they would not have shown it in the episode .. !! are you joking around or you dont know how T.V works ? They would have shown it but they dint even try or feel the need to try it !
Thats a soft deal. They will do further research before making it fr real
There are certain products you dont need to try and then decide to invest in .. there is plenty of time for them to check it and they know which business can run etc .. in this show they did not try it .. they did see that it was soft , stretching and has some potential and people have purchased it and hotel has a deal with them ..they are bothered about that ..also whether it was worth such high and will still become big or a huge sales is a question mark And in the end they might not invest in it later .. who knows
Only Mark is clapping for him when they stuck their guns.
not they only the man
Any one sees an issue here they basically Conned a bunch of people in Thailand out of the ability to sell there products for themselves
Amazing couple and product. They chose the right investor. His vibe is perfect for their product. Perfect match.
agreed
I love how Lorie is so nice and happy for them even when she didn’t get the deal but she’s happy their happy
Barbara: "I'm only interested in banana hammocks, and for that reason, I'm out."
I literally laughed out loud at this 🤣
Barbara: My husband has terrible back problems and a hammock helped him with his pain, and for that reason, I’m out.
😂😂😂
The girl was voice of reason in this relationship
If the hammocks are handmade, surely it's not scalable for high purchase orders.
That's just the origins story of the company. They'll mass produce these in a factory once the brand is established.
So many women. & men who need work in these countries. You could make 10ks.
@@bigbassjonz Will they though? .......
@@derekjp6043 they'd be stupid not to. The shark that jumped in didn't do it out of the kindness of his heart, if course they're going to.
@@bigbassjonz Even if they do, they will still be providing jobs to those communites!
They nailed it! 1M for 25% was sick! and barbara was IN her shower
I cant 🤣
“Hammocks make me sleepy and for that reason I’m out.”
Barbara
Perfect 🤣🤣🤣
6:16 I laughed so loud at that shaking head just giving up! :D
Barbara: "I have the feeling that youre not representing your own company in the way you are supposed to. You call your company yellow leaf and enter the shark tank with green clothes on, which tells me that you are not invested enough into this business and for that reason Im out"
Stop😂
I read that with Barbaras voice and tone :D
Daniel is a genuine cool dude. Hope they do super well.
These are Paraguayan hamacas. Here they're sold basically for 15 to 20 dollars. They are 30 years durable. Even more
Mark just sitting back laughing at these used car salesmen vibes.
the guy who struck the deal is wealthier than mark.
@@akshaychaurasiya1309he's not lol, Marks networth is approximately 2.5 times Daniels networth, you can look it up on Google.
Exactly, total sleaze ball.
This was a really nice story and product. Hope they get more successful and help the developing world even more.
I have a beachfront property in Idaho to sell you
they are paying each thai workers about 5 days of minimum wage. Which is a lot.
Regardless, those people are probably still living in shacks....
Lori legit trying to rip them off. Her revised offer was a worse percentage than Roberts full amount offer
His back story is incredible.
I wish them all the success in the world!
Great Offer! XO
This guy saw these hammocks in Koh Pagan. He could have at least said thanks to Mr Moon who has the original hammock store he discovered...
Also kind of sad to imagine they're going to squeeze such profits from these remote communities. FYI it takes about 1 week of work to make those 40$ hammocks, so saying that they are promoting high paying jobs is a bit of a stretch when those workers might get 20$ per week
But how much can one buy with $20 in such communities? Different locations have different costs of living you know?
"Squeeze profit from the communities" dude... he CREATED jobs. Said they didn't have enough sales so they couldn't take in more workers. If someone is creating jobs in your economy they are putting money IN not taking it OUT. The hammocks weren't selling according to him so I'm sure they were grateful to have someone make a company that represents them and tells their story. Not just another "my product is made in China factories".
@@ccloudleaf You’re making excuses for how so many middle men take the majority of profits from the people actually doing the labor. They compare it to local wages of college graduates, but it should be for the profits they make, not just good for the region. This is a traditional art form, and they are still being taken advantage of when this couple takes majority of the cut.
@@TahtahmesDiary I'm not going to argue with that. I'm a laborer myself. Of course it's impossible to have a real conversation between comments but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that I guess everyone should leave each other alone.
Their story is total BS. It's simply cheaper, and they came up with a story to get around exploiting cheap labor.
For me this might be one of the best deal ever! Congratulations to both of you.
not really
Really happy they got a deal.
I love hammock camping and am fairly familiar with all the major players in this industry. These are way overpriced for what they are and that $2200 price point is insane. It needs to be closer to $600
My max dollars will be 1k for it.
If you haven't seen anything else like it you can charge whatever you want 😉
@@XSteve-gz5ko throne*
Its $199 what are yll talking about
I think you missed the part where they said high end . High end furniture is all in 5-6 figure range.
I feel this was the most intense one put of all the episodes
I loved how he gave them both a kiss!!! I hope they all do well.

@@David-R. I love Daniel! Very kind, hope he can become a full time shark on the show
@@ShawnFX Same here.
Kevin is so funny, his reactions 😂
They’re out of their mind with this hammock throne lmao
Nah not really. direct to consumer might not be the main point if a cruise ship is going to put them in every room and have them order able. If it goes over well who knows what other cruise companies will come for them too. Plus the design is really quite nice so the wealthy will buy them no question, it just won’t trump wholesale orders.
for an average person, maybe. wait until high tech companies all over the world hear about this and decide to put 20 in each floor of their buildings
@@rainsmellgood fair enough
@@Byokku2013 I read its now $2,999 its insane
Wow 40X EBITDA for a hammock company, this should have been a sign of the times; the top of the market was in
“Just because I love you” 🥺
Barbara bought one of these actually, she liked it and wanted to invest, but she wasn't casting in this episode and for that reason she was out.
My jaw literally dropped when I read that it was cotton or weather resistant yarn (meaning plastic). I expected a more expensive material like silk.
but cotton is better than silk.
silk is so delicate, definitely wouldn’t be able to hold a person, or be weather resistant
Cotton can deteriorate. Polyester is king.
@@staytoasty7373 silk strand for strand is stronger than steel wire, but cleaning would be horrendous
@@derekjp6043 i was comparing silk and cotton, so polyster is king? cool !!
Who ever created the hammock was a genius, but it still scary to sleep in one.
Keeps you off the ground from the bugs
6:06 LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Omg I want this for my future office!
I never miss Barbara in a deal because the comment section fills in for her and better! 😂😂😂
I'm literally from that undeveloped region that they got these hammocks from. The artisans don't make the price of one of these hammocks in their LIFETIME. I can get you one of these hammocks for a tenth of the price....200 bucks. Their's better be made of silkworms fed wagyu beef.
I Miss when shark tank was for normal people looking for couple thousands to take their companies to the next level. Now we see companies already established looking for >$350,000. I miss the trill
Amazing episode
Excited to watch
that woman's massage at the end was interesting
Lmao
Cuban enjoying the drama😅😅😅
Looks like they are still in business. That's good to know.
I’m just here for the Barbara jokes
Where can I find that leaf blazer? I've searched I have not seen it anywhere. 🍃
So happy to see that one of the best offers in this program was made by a fellow Mexican 🇲🇽🙌🙏
WoW, WoW, WoW.......hope they do great. Alot of villagers are going to have a great future!! Bravo !
How much back are they giving to the community who makes the woven hammocks? Or are these owners pocketing the profits and paying the workers pennies to work for the company?
They said in the pitch they're providing "high wage jobs" to moms in Thailand, I saw a figure from Lu Thai Textile Co. that they consider high wages for textile workers to be 561 THB ($15.66 USD) / hour so let's assume these hammocks pay wages similar to that figure which is a vast improvement on the average ($3.40 USD) salary for textile workers in Thailand.
@@jonathanbaldauf4761 I saw that, but, when Western white people come in and exploit their culture and pay them above market wages while the owners live in lavish houses and are considered the top 10% per IRS standards it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth
@@jonathanbaldauf4761 $15 per hour in Thailand is a lot, that beat majority of the corporate worker’s salary
@@fos1451I'm from Thailand and no, $15 per hour isn't a lot....
Lol the look he gave her when she said "A million dollars". He was like WHAT! U crazy bitshhh🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️
This is the biggest joke I've seen on any VC, TV show. This is an entirely stipulated market, a luxury hammock retail, even at a base it's completely win or miss, but if they do manage to make it a win then there's virtually no barrier to entry, and they'll be outcompeted on sales immediately.
They said they were creating high paying jobs then said their cost to make are $44 landed, so minus the fright what’s the labourer making and I’m sure time wise it takes a little bit to make
Yeah. When she said that, I was like "right."
People in thailand are paid in baht. If they made 5$ a day they would have huge buying power in thailand
What an episode!!
Am i the only one who sees dilzerian
He was wise listening to her and stopped talking and listen to the offers. Then counteroffer..... and hit the jackpot
If no one bit a the 1M for 25%, Mark would have stood up and said I'll take it, that's why he never went out.
Barbara: I have two hammocks in my backyard, for that reason I'm out.
Wait. How come nobody asked about the patent rights to the hammock furniture?
They most likely discussed that. Remember, these are usually 1-3 hours but they cut them to 10-15 minutes
I lost it When Daniel kissed them at the end 🤣
What did you lose? I hope you were able to find it again!!
Daniel is a great guy.
Barbara : I hate the hammock and I don’t like the people using it, but I will give you offer, 1000 for 50%.
So many middle men take the majority of profits from the people actually doing the labor. They compare it to local wages of college graduates, but it should be for the profits they make, not just good for the region. This is a traditional art form, and they are still being taken advantage of when this couple takes majority of the cut.
It would be interesting since these are re-runs and/or have already been shown before here if this channel could do a live loop like the Gordan Ramsay channel. The comments of people would be very interesting to hear.
If it doesn't wobble, it's not a hammock 💥
Barbara: I'm in, and for those reasons I'm out.
Daniel might be my favorite Shark
And for those Barbara’s, I’m reason.
This had me crackin up
From the thumb nail I thought it was Dan billzarian
I’m all for helping poor people, but those prices, and the fact that hammocks aren’t consumable goods, means high customer acquisition costs.
I think that the sharks liked more the CEOs than the company
The contraption design looks modern and exquisite, i’d buy it. But how firm and long lasting it is though?
probably would last about 4 years.
Barbara : for no reason I'm out
Always seems so shady to try to force people to make a quick yes or no decision. Would not want to start a relationship of any kind like that
Agreed, but I was thinking it might also be because they don’t want someone scooping up the deal from them, they wanted to secure it since they really want it. It depends on the person
Lori with a delightfully Wonderful deal there at the end 😉 💸
Barbara: I already bought my husband a hammock and for that reason I’m out
i sleep in a hammock nightly. i got 3 of them. paid like $80 for wool hammock and stand, and got 2 other parachute material hammocks for about $25 each. maybe they're trying to cater to people who hit mega millions i dunno.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I thought hammocks were meant to be slept in diagonally so you aren’t folded in half the way the demonstration went?
Excuse me.
Isaw this episode yesterday, could you give me a review of your experience? I want to buy one for my uncle
Wow!! Awesome Deal🙌🏼👏🏼💸🤗
My guy needed to write off a million dollars bad this day!
The got the KIND-est shark for a venture like this!
Very cool hammock stand but woe so expensive
Me thinking I know nobody that needs a hammock
$360K net profit for $4M valuation. Over 10x net profit. They are hustlers ! Congrats to this couple !! He overpaid for sure but I'm sure they are both going to make a lot of money.
I agree, I think he overpaid, but I don't think it's a business that will make the 3 of them stinking rich.
I think it's a nice business for the two of them, but that's it. But, what do I know? 3 sharks were fighting for the deal.
@@Locutus Well, you can get almost the same product for half the price. So there's that...
I think he did it for optics. Don't really think the investor will recoup 1 million dollars all that quickly. But its a nice mission based company that's attractive to a certain type of investor's portfolio.
Kevin’s reaction
With those margins, they're fleecing the hill tribe workers.
Not yet they're not. The money they're paying the hill tribe people for one is more money that one person there would typically earn in a year. The real fleecing comes next when they start making these in a factory and say adios to the hill people altogether.
Edit: spelling
A hammock company lol... Gotta love Mr Wonderful. I'm sure this company is a real headache.
those two kisses he gave them, each cost 500,000
Barbara: When I cam out of my mother womb I said to her. Hey Mom. I am out.
These guys and their "next-round" stuff is beyond me.
Out: I’m Barbara
Who has the time to sit in a hammock??? Not me!
What a deal!
