Richie Pauley 1968.5 Mustang Cobra Jet "135" NHRA Stock Eliminator Drag Racing Pomona

- The number 1 qualified car in Stock Eliminator at Pomona belongs in a museum, but we would much rather see #48 of 50 competing at the strip. Richie Pauley acquired the coveted 428 powered 1968.5 in the early '70s where it was sitting in a friend's backyard with a broken motor and a flat tire. One of only a few "street" version lightweights produced, this car had a radio, heater, and sound deadener and draws many potential buyers that Rich has to reject on a regular basis.

Been watching him and this car for 35 years. Always impressive.
hpe I'm still making passes at 77! Great car, thanks Bobby!
I love this good for him turning people down who try to buy it a car in your life that long is family.
Absolutely
Bobby, another great interview. You ask the questions that racers want to know!😄
Thank you. Hope you got something good out of it.
Racing history right there. Beautiful car

#TheCarShow is alive and well!
A ‘68 CJ my all time favorite Mustang. Just a bitch to work on thou. This one a bit on the dirty side but a thing of beauty. Kudos to a 77 yr old for sticking with racing.
So I’ve watched several of your videos and am beginning to understand the concept. The hp rating determines weight, but the car can have as much actual hp as one can create, yes?
Yes!
@@driverinterviews thank you. I’ve never understood this. Now I do. It does make me want to go racing.
@@JustAnumbr Thank you for watching. I probably should have explained that better in a video. I never knew the channel would grow the way it has so I am glad to have new viewers point out these kinds of questions.
Bobby why do some cars run a single wheel bar and others have a double ? going to have the s/s car out next year ?
The Calvert design and Ken keir prefer the single wheelie bar. I run a double but I am not sure the benefits.
I want the tri-y headers he has/had on the car.
Friend of mind in North Carolina has 68 with red interior 428scj with 471tract lock rear it's will to me by the owner body is also white
Awesome car Ford power forever baby keep on pulling the knot out of them boties and the horns off them mopars l love it
I have to give 'em 300 lbs. Yeah sure...just like ol' Bub Glidden used ta have ta. 🙄 Stop hiding in 3600 lb C/stock and run with the big dog 396s in A/stock. You should clean up...what with 32+ extra cubes and all. 🤣🤣🤣
He's gonna go back to the steel Bruce Sizemore cheater heads. lol
