@@GodlessGranny Well, in actual history it was the Portuguese, then the Dutch, English and Spanish who sailed to Japan - only much later, of course.
But Bodie has a general problem; the Mesopotamians (west Asians, I guess?) had to morph - not evolve, god forbid! - very rapidly into south Asians, east Asians, Africans, native Americans, Europeans and whoever else I've missed off the list. How and why that happened should be a story worth hearing, eh?

I've heard Aron Ra make the hypothesis that the story may be a fictionalized version of the fall of reading culture in Babylon due to the demise of their empire and people in the area sliding backwards technologically, loosing the ability to read. It may not be any more true than the biblical story about Babel, but at least its humanly plausible.

Seriously? As a linguist you honestly do not see the uncanny parallels between the tower of babel Bible story, and the modern day story we're currently living in? Really?
Did you know that as of 8/24 Ethnologue shows English language as the glaringly obvious global lingua franca, and that English plays a crucial role in international business, science, and diplomacy. With a history shaped by diverse influences, English has become the primary language of the internet, contributing to its widespread adoption and accessibility, combined with the Internet connecting the whole world being able to freely communicate?
So there has never in history of the world been a common global language?
How is your educated stance so contradictory to the published scientific data, and the unarguably agreed upon common knowledge?
In my humble attempt to shine light on the correlation between then and now,
Unfortunately it has become painfully apparent that academia has seriously failed our students.
These institutions have intentionally and maliciously developed a skewed and warped version of curriculum, that people with eyes can easily see, is in lockstep with the states extremely flawed socialistic atheistic, anti-God or antichristian fundamental doctrines
Totally ignoring clear & evident, undeniable & overwhelming documented factual information, such as scientific research including archeology, geology including these often cited yet contrived and fixed but incredibly incomplete artifacts & fossil & records. And my fav, the seriously lacking updated anthropological findings.
It is shockingly being taught that ANYTHING contradictory is shameful and harmful and bad for our species if somehow embraced. Any student dissent is very dangerous and will absolutely not be tolerated, and said person should be reported to the authorities but avoided, and ultimately punished for spreading misinformation immediately.
I honestly don't expect an answer to my questions, as I think
the writing is on the proverbial wall nowadays, but you must have eyes to see it and recognize it for what it is.
A wise man once said, "Wisdom isn't the ability to see things, but one's ability to see through things"

The problem with most theists is that they misunderstand the big bang that the universe exploded into existence from nothing, in reality it is a point in time that the universe experienced an explosive expansion, there was an older theory that the big bang was an explosion but again it wasnt from nothing, instead the theory posited that already existing elements from a past universe imploded and exploded into a new universe.

I think that languages developed with groups of people . I noticed how quickly slang changes and how young people understand it and I don't , which seems to indicate how quickly languages develop and change . It is as though the people who thought about ancient languages after the languages developed were thinking that there was once some original language and it became confused over time , as opposed to developing in parallel with various small groups of people inventing their own words and grammar . A bit like some people thought there was some ancient perfect race which gradually became watered down . What could possibly go wrong with such ideas ?

We are all one race. But God specifically called out one people to be chosen.
For an omni omni being who goes on to damn eternally those who don't know him is far more egregious than anything Darwin could do.
God is so great He can make the universe in 6 days.
Why 6 days with one for rest? God surely would be so great he could create the whole of the universe in less than a blink of an eye.
The reason why 7 days is down to the human concept of numerology, thus showing that Genesis is mythology and not science.

An idea I have been mulling over with regards to "Biblical Literalists", specifically people who advocate biblical inerrancy, is that the only way to interact with an "inerrant" bible would be for you to effectively believe yourself to be inerrant, because if you are not inerrant then due to the human limitations of your language comprehension skills you will misunderstand the bible (or pretty much any other book), and miss minor nuances, if not major ones, or flat out errors do to your misunderstanding.
Even if someone claims it is not themselves, but their congregation's, priest's, or pastor's interpretation of the bible that is inerrant, that person would only have access to an errant interpretation of the bible unless they have an "inerrant" understanding of that inerrant intermediary.

And in the 5th chapter of Micah we are told that Bethlehem is that woman out of which God comes. Listen to the words carefully: “You, O Bethlehem, are so little to be among the thousands of Judah, yet from you will come forth for me, one who is to rule in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient times. Therefore, he will give them up until that time when she who is in travail has brought forth.” Then we read in the 63rd [Chapter] of Isaiah, “O Lord, thou art our Father, our Redeemer from of old is thy name.” Here we see the Ancient of Days as our Father and Redeemer and, like Bethlehem, we are all in travail, redeeming everything and bringing forth the Father of all life as our very self!

And from a Norman king, through various European Royalty intermarriages; to a Dutch protestant invite (William of Orange) and later germanic blood lines (House of Windsor changed their name due to political issues with Germany having previously been Saxe-Coburg).
Then Brits went to the big wide world taking their genes with them, and also bringing back worldwide genes to UK. And that is before the settlement of people whose countries we raided for trade purposes into the modern British Isles.

Bodie is of course merely spouting his father-in-law Ken Ham's talking points, which he has to do to keep his job. This is the standard AiG shtick, as is their propensity to make misleading statements - if they weren't good Christians, we would say they were lying - such as the Big Bang exploding 'out of nothing.' Bodie has a masters degree in mechanic engineering, and he does read stuff, so he has to know that real cosmologists don't think it came from nothing, but he repeats it anyway because it strains the credulity of his audience, although they are able to believe that the universe was created from nothing by a nonmaterial supernatural entity. Bodie and the AiG crowd consistently lie about what non-YECs believe regarding the world because to tell the truth would undercut their narrative. I like to call this technique 'Jivin' for Jesus.'

    • @OceanusHelios

The problem is, Mechanical Engineering has nothing much at all to do with Earth Science, Genetics, or anything else other than Mechancial Engineering. In that field you learn about materials and well, engineering mechanical things. It's up to the student to choose other electives. And I've seen multiple times where somebody might be the greatest of all time in their fields....but say nonsensical things about other fields when they choose not to stay in their own lane and field of expertise. That's why it is important to have a broad education, and if you don't have a broad education, you should stay in your own lane. I don't have an issue when people share their opinions, but it is even better to have an informed opinion. I've seen Physicists commenting on Biology. And as a person with a degree in Molecular Biology, I can say that Physicists shouldn't comment on Biology or things such as what a person's sex is based on their opinion.

Bible is addressed to the Imagination, not to the man of sense or the man of reason . . the one that is “lost” or “dead” or “sound asleep.”We will take a simple little verse and show you why it is not addressed to the natural man, Ecclesiastes 3:15: “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been; and God seeks what has been driven away.” The “natural man” cannot grasp that, for to him reality is based only on the evidence of the senses. The man of reason could justify the verse’s end, saying if it has any meaning then the writer must mean recurrence. The sun comes every day and the moon completes its cycle and the seasons come and go. If we took a picture of the universe today, the scientists can compute how long it will take to return to this point in the picture. So the intellectual man could justify the verse; but that is not what is meant, for it is addressed not to the man of reason or the man of sense, but to the man of Imagination. What is it all about? “That which is, already has been; that which is to be, already has been, and God seeks what has been driven away.”

There would have been an orgy at each new moon. This tale is repeated with the Ra (the sun) riding across the celestial sea in a barque (crescent moon). The sun and moon give us the name Zion/Sion with the zin/Sin being the moon and On the Sun. This is the ship-sun of Zebulun aka Capricorn. Zebulun means Zebul (dwelling) of the Un (sun). Mt. Isaiah Chap. 14. Babylon destroyed, i.e., winter passed, spring will succeed, when the Lord (Jahveh) will have mercy on Jacob (spring), and choose Israel (summer) and set them in their own land. Strangers (outsiders) shall be joined with them, i.e., at the proper time winter will appear, and they shall cleave unto the house of Jacob, i.e., these three seasons will complete the year. Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord (summer), and shall take them captives, whose captives they were, and they shall rule over their oppressors, i.e., as summer comes, winter goes. Thus, the Lord shall give Israel rest from his sorrow (winter), and he shall exclaim against the king of Babylon (the winter Sun): - ah, how hath the oppressor fallen! -ceased to demand the golden days of spring, the gold of Ophir (vs. 4). The Lord hath broken the staff of him (winter) who smote the people - of him who persecuted, but is now persecuted in turn. The whole earth is now quiet -"at rest" (summer solstice); "they break forth into singing" (vs. 7). "The fir trees rejoice" - put forth buds, etc. Yet Hell underneath is moving against thee to meet thy going (summer goes, winter comes); it (Hell) is bringing up the shades of the "goats" (Capricorn) out of the earth against thee.

Ham had four sons, of whom Canaan was the youngest. Ham being the four months of summer. Canaan, the last, would correspond to Scorpio. This fourth part of Ham will be noticed in connection with the Tower of Babel. Scorpio was always the accursed sign.
It is thought by some that Noah, while in his state of intoxication, was deprived of his virility. If so, it is no wonder the old man was so angry when he awoke. The sacred text, too, seems to favor this idea, as Noah lived 350 years after that, and had no more children' Canaan was suspected to have committed this irreverent act, and was punished in consequence. The four sons of Ham are Leo (Jupiter), Virgo (Vesta), Libra (Juno), and Scorpio (Neptune). This same four is found in Isaiah 9.14-15.

The Tower of Babel (gate of El aka god) represents the five months of winter as described in Revelation 9.
In Gen. 10. 22, we find Shem had five sons: Elam, Asshur, Aphaxad, Lud and Aram. They were born to him after the Flood (Gen. 10.1), and probably for this special use of the Babylonians. This understood, of course, they may all be readily identified with these five winter months as now reconstructed, and represented by Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricornus, Aquarius and Pisces, thus: "Elam," says Fuerst (Heb. Lex., p. 1040), "stands for paras" = Persian for horseman = Sagittarius; Asshur, one who mounts up = Capricornus, the goat, an animal famous in this direction; Aphaxad, according to Philo Judaeus , the Jew (Bohn’s Philo, vol. 2. p. 275), is - "he disturbs sorrow" = Aquarius = Moses, who disturbed Pharaoh; Lud was a descendant of Ham, and therefore = Scorpio; and Aram = high = Pisces, the last of the winter months, according to any arrangement now known.
