  • The "most famous Chevrolet Camaro in the Planet" has competed on the 2017 edition of Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, only after a year of almost burning to the ground while trying to compete on the Iconic event.
Powered by a 555ci Block in Naturally Aspirated form, capable of almost 1000Hp, this Muscle car turned #HillclimbMonster was raced by its owner RJ Gottlieb to a very respectable 11:08.857.

I have been following this car, or should I say, the concept of this car since the Gotlieb's were chewing up, and spitting out the competition in the Nevada banzai runs in the late 1970's, early 80's. The 69 Camaro has always been the one car I would love more than any other, to own. The closest I ever came was a 1970 Firebird.

RJ and the Big Red Camaro. If I could own one competition car this what it would be. This car can do it all. Flat out in Nevada, Standing Mile, Road Coarse, Hill Climb and Bonneville. I don’t know all the numbers, but I believe this has posted speeds of 254 mph. Notice it still has chrome bumpers and rain gutters as designed. If your interested theirs a good inside look at this car on Hooligan You Tube channel. Long live Big Red. 🇺🇸

A really fine car, awesome engine, but man that's was slow as hell compered to the other cars. I really doubt if this car can produce enough downforce to race it again, in a serious way. That run was more of a show-off. The pilot was very careful on the throttle all the time (props to him because he didn't let the rear end fly away not even by a second). With an better body kit, i think it would perform way better.
