Even easier is to cut a circle around the stem and then slice the base off the capsicum/pepper and then you can simply pull out the whole lobe of seeds without losing any and then slice or dice the walls of the capsicum.
@@ChiChi-iz6xz I know this is older video . But I just spread them uncovered on sheet it only takes a couple of hours to freeze and well worth the few minutes it takes to spread them and bag them all loose and not stuck . I freeze all kinds of veggies this way , I never knew you were suppose to blanch them
A cheap way to vacuum seal a bag. To get the air out of the plastic bag after you fill it. I get a deep pot and fill it with water, then I close the zip lock part leaving just the corner open a little bit. Then I submerge the plastic bag in the water, the water will force the air out of the bag and then I close it.
can i suggest that you flatten the bags and expel as much air as possible. freeze in a single (very flat) layer on a cookie sheet. They will freeze more quickly which means less cell damage and then you can stack or stand the bags on edge for more efficient use of freezer space.
To what I know all vegetables that need to be stored in the freezer should be first chopped then blanched then packed in airtight plastic bags or containers before finally storing it in the freezer. Blanching helps to preserve it's natural color and crunch.
Hello. I agree with that for most veggies (like broccoli, peas, spinach). However, with bell peppers and onions that will be cooked/stewed it doesn't matter. They won't be crunchy anyway. At least, that's how I cook these. Thanks for watching!
So only freeze peppers or onions if you cook them..use fresh if you put on salads?do like this..plan to start doing this..I have begun freezing vaccumm vegetables and freeze them..
joelchambers28able I don't blanch mine. I usually cook them until soft anyway. For kebabs and salads I use fresh peppers and onions. Thanks for watching!
Love the way you cut the peppers, I'm going to try that next week

Katherine LeClair thanks for the compliment! It means a lot!
What I do is spread on cookie sheet, flash freeze then in zip lock. That way they don't clump
Brent Eamer yep that works too. I'm just always pressed for time!
Brent Eamer how long do you flash freeze them? Covered in the freezer with something? Thank you!!
Thats great for people who have the time. I just freeze them in the baggies and pull out what I need. Great for pizza!

I blanch mine and then freeze them on a pan in the freezer and then transfer to bags back in the freezer.

You can also use a straw to suck out air too.

@@SaschaFierceTV19 I commented only on the bell pepper. I always cut onions fresh whenever needed, I have never freezed onions.
Ok. I use fresh as well. But if I buy too many of anything and they start to go bad, I do this method.
Helpful video. Thank you 😊
Thanks, I was just about to just chop right through the middle of my peppers before watching this.
Rinse before chopping and also press out the air in the freezer bag then seal
thanks for sharing......
