You forgot to mention Sam Lanier, the dispatcher. He was an actual LA county fire dispatcher. He died of a heart attack while assisting in an evident outside his house.
Besides Robert Fuller, Randolph Mantooth, and Kevin Tighe, there are several cast members who are still with us. We recently lost the great Tim Donnelly but Mike Norell, Mike Stoker, Marco Lopez from the main cast are still with us as well as Ron Pinkard, and James McEachin.
@@mikey29211 Besides Kevin, Tim was my favorite. I felt I could relate to Chet. But I became disillusioned with Tighe after he stated that he wasn't happy to being known mainly from a "stupid little TV show." I started thinking 'if it wasn't for that "stupid little TV show" you wouldn't BE known. The book had listings and castings of all t.v. shows from the '40s (it included the Dupont channel) up to current times. Fuller & Mantooth are very humble. I met Fuller at a Comic Con in the late 90s and I met Mantooth at a convention for 1st responders in New Jersey. VERY humble and thankful when I told him I became a paramedic because of Emergency! My grandmother, when she found out I was a huge fan (and she lived in Los Angeles) told me that what they showed on the show is exactly how they operated. She was a heavy smoker and had emphysema & other lung issues so when forest fires would be active she always had to call them to go into the hospital until it was over (she lived in the "bowl" area.)

Randy and Kevin put it full of care and laughter and today i still love it i realize ambulance in Burlington refused to take i to the hospital i had whiplash they laughed said go see your own Dr so there not like they take their jobs seriously

I liked Mantooth because he was always the uncoventional type with frequent screwy ideas. He made you laugh at times, particularly when he was not saving lives doing the firefighter thing.

By Feb 1980, I was a state licensed EMT. 😊

This was another great TV show from the 1970s. I watched it every week along with Adam 12. I along with many young men decided to get involved with public safety because of these shows.
@FactsVerse My favorites of Adam 12 were the pilot The Impossible Mission and The Search when Malloy crashed in Griffin Park during a pursuit. Reed defied Sgt. McDonald order to leave Griffim Park.
I loved this show when I was a kid. Recently, it has popped up on one of my local cable networks and I occasionally watch it. It is still a fun show and watching it again after this many years through more mature eyes I understand why it was so successful. The character Johnny Gage portrayed by Randolph mantooth was definitely my favorite character.
The black dispatcher we saw in every episode also passed away about two years ago. I loved him, Vince and Dixie the most! All of you RIP and thank you!
At 75, I never watched "Emergency" when it was first on in the '70's, but saw it recently & loved it! Jack Webb was a 'genius' in creating realistic dramas! It's too bad that actors & people in general, were such heavy smokers then, causing early & painful deaths from cancer! R.I.P. to those cast members who have died!
Tim Donnelly just passed... but Capt Stanley "Michael Norell"...Ron Pinkard...Marco.Lopez & others are alive still along with John, Roy & Doctor Bracket as mentioned...
My fav was Mantooth, for a very strange reason. Although considered to be a native or first nation person. It played little in how he portrayed his charater. There were not many natives on TV at the time and the ones that were, played stereotypes
Randy Mantooth never wanted his heritage brought up on the show. The producers did at least 2x. After the second time he made they were to bring it up, never again. That time they listened and never brought it up again.
I loved all the characters on Emergency. It was my favorite show growing up even the animated shows. My all time favorite was Craig Brice who always caused so many problems for Squad 51.
Great show . Growing up in the 70s I tried to catch every episode. After high school I went to the fire academy and became a Firefighter/Emt . I worked in the Southwest Michigan Area. Benton Harbor, St Joseph, Niles and Dowagiac area . Small cities north of South Bend/ Notre Dame Indiana. From 1986-2016 I worked in Emergency services and I credit the show for sparking my interest. Thanks
Watched this show when I was 17. As a member of a volunteer fire department I longed for the day when I could contribute more to our to our township. It all worked out, mostly for the residents of our community.
Just loved that show. My favorite characters were John and Roy. My older brother has retired as captain of a fire dept and actually got to meet John Gage. We have a photo of him and my brother Ed. So Cool! 😊
Robert Fuller also starred in “Wagon Train”. I had an opportunity to meet and talk with him. He and James Drury came to my hometown for a kidney charity event. My mother worked at the hotel they stayed at. She would would take them their meals so they wouldn’t be bothered by fans. Drury always drank and he was one of those angry drunks, he also was bald 👨🦲 which was a big secret. Lol Now Robert Fuller was the complete opposite, he was friendly and very nice. She asked him if he could meet her children and he said yes! I was about 12 or 13 years old and my brother was younger than me. My brother only wanted to see the gun he used on TV, so he got bored when Fuller said I don’t have it. Lol I had tons of questions and he answered every question I said. He had pictures and signed them for us and he gave me a kiss on the cheek. 😘 lol I didn’t want to wash that cheek of my face for about a week. 😂
I had ask that question about robert fuller.couldnt remember the name of it. I watched Laramie on the ME TV channel (antenna) a few yrs back...but i cant seem to be able to get that channel now.
Emergency was Adam-12's sibling show. The doctors and nurse assisted in an Adam-12 episode, the cop duo were in the pilot episode, and an episode was the focus on Johnny's hangup. Emergency influenced more people than people know. Its recent passing was that of Tim Donnelly, who died September 17th at the age of 77 when he suffered surgery complications.
@@JeffTheHokie yes, sort of as a plug for people to watch the sibling show. An actual episode that actually had Ron Pinkard as a fellow policeman was the episode. Johnny's hangup could have been solved in "The Nuisance" instead of showing a cheesy soap opera which had the show been aired in modern times would have been a plug for "Days of Our Lives".
Randolph Mantooth in his portrayal of paramedic/fireman John Gage, kept me pleasantly glued to the tv on Saturday nights. One of my favorite and biggest crushes on an actor at the very young age beginning at 11. I had a teen magazine with a full page picture of his , incredibly handsome face which I kept, in my sixth grade school desk, right on top of my school books. Having his picture in my desk assured that even on the toughest of school days, I need only lift the lid of my desk and look at his dashingly handsome face, and suddenly whatever it was that was happening ( bullying), or whatever it may have been didn’t seem so bad! After all just knowing that my friend’s and I had Saturday night to look every so forward to. This may sound very silly and juvenile, but you try and tell that to this 11 year old girl! Lol Thank you Randy Mantooth for those 6 years of playing this part! 💕😊🤩🥰
WOW! I remember watching that show when I was a little boy and I loved it. It's kinda funny now cause I work for a company who does all their glass replacement and I get to go some places other people can't. I have even been to that infamous fire station although in real life it's not station 51 it's actually station 127.
Can't think of a favorite episode i dig em all. One i seem to remember had something to do with an accident in this huge scrap yard involving a missing arm? Also in that same scrap yard can clearly see the hull of the PT 73 from McHale's Navy too....
My favorite was Chet played by Tim Donnelly who also passed on 9/17/2021. Chet was so snarky and got under the skin of John Gage and got natural enjoyment from the interactions of the character's. RIP Tim/Chet.
Captain Hank Stanley is my favorite. You might want to update this video to include Tim Donnelly, the actor who played Chet. He passed recently. You could also add dispatcher Sam Lanier. Sadly he has Also left us.

You kind of skipped over John Smith's starring roles in two TV western series Cimarron City as Temple Lane and Slim Sherman in Laramie before he guested on Emergency!. Robert Fuller and Randolph Mantooth make the rounds of film festivals every year (when Covid doesn't interfere) and Robert still draws huge crowds. Randolph, who also appears at EMS conventions, just recently battled cancer but is doing better.

I had such a crush on Randolph mantooth I thought John Gage was so good looking I was only young like maybe 12:00 or so when he was on maybe even 10:00 and I just thought he was just drop that gorgeous we used to play him all the time out on the yard that we lived on the ground where we lived I just couldn't get over that anybody could be as gorgeous as him at the time now I'm married 40 years and don't give it a second thought
You neglected to mention that Julie London was married to Jack Webb for a bit. She was also married to Bobbie Troupe. So Jack Webb cast both his ex-wife and her current husband in Emergency. Btw, I became a paramedic (now retired) because of Emergency.
@@harperstacey9604 , if you take into account the fact that I lived in a rural area rather than the greater Los Angeles area, yeah it was. Granted, most of our calls were car crashes and farming accidents. But we got a few notable calls. Such as a locally known heart surgeon injured in a helicopter crash who walked our senior paramedic through treating a tension pneumothorax (his first, in spite of 20 years on the job at that point). But a whole bunch of our work was transporting people to a larger hospital. It's kind of different when you work for a private company rather than a county or city organization.

The character Johnny Gage portrayed by Randolph mantooth was definitely my favorite character.
Tim Donnelly, who played Chet Kelly on Emergency has also passed away.
Yes it's sad they did not mention him and he was one of the main ones.
as well as Sam Lanier in 1997
@@sdlively27 Sam Lanier was the dispatcher but still should have included him his voice is famous. And Tim Donnelly just died in September 2021.
@@computersetc1123 And yet, neither one was mentioned and both should have been.
This is a old video and needs to be updated
The black dispatcher we saw in every episode also passed away about two years ago. I loved him, Vince and Dixie the most! All of you RIP and thank you!
At 75, I never watched "Emergency" when it was first on in the '70's, but saw it recently &
loved it! Jack Webb was a 'genius' in creating realistic dramas! It's too bad that actors &
people in general, were such heavy smokers then, causing early & painful deaths from
cancer! R.I.P. to those cast members who have died!
This was one of my favourite shows growing up.
I'm so glad I can watch Monday through Saturday, which I do, on CoziTV!
Thanks for watching!
I loved all the characters on Emergency. It was my favorite show growing up even the animated shows. My all time favorite was Craig Brice who always caused so many problems for Squad 51.
I think that the actor who played Brice passed away, too
One of my favorite all time shows...
I saw this the other day at the doctors office. Iwas 12 when this came on.
I still watch it every day here in West Tennessee
I watch every day in Northern California. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Just loved that show. My favorite characters were John and Roy. My older brother has retired as captain of a fire dept and actually got to meet John Gage. We have a photo of him and my brother Ed. So Cool! 😊
John Smith and Robert Fuller starred in a western television series called Laramie from 1961 through 1963. It can be seen on Grit television channel.
Smith was also a guest star on one episode of Father Knows Best...believe it or snot!
Dr Brackett, Roy, Johnny my favorite, but truly like them all ❤except Bryce and Dr. Morton.
But on a later episode, the firemen were watching Adam 12 on TV.
I loved that show and I have to say that my favorite is all of them
Seeing Bobby Troupe brought to mind another role, more like a cameo appearance, really. His line went something like " Gosh Darn Army Jeep!!" .
"Emergency"; "ADAM-12", and "Dragnet" were all favorites of mine! Excellent dramas' with lessons to leave one thinking!
I think Kevin Tighe was my favorite. He did an episode of Star Trek Voyager, it's worth finding.
Still watch it daily. 😊
Emergency was one of my favorite shows that come on every week. I always like Randolph mantooth. He was one of my favorites.
I have every season of Emergency on DVD I love this show I liked the character of John Gage and Dixie McCall
My favorite was Chet played by Tim Donnelly who also passed on 9/17/2021. Chet was so snarky and got under the skin of John Gage and got natural enjoyment from the interactions of the character's. RIP Tim/Chet.
Right thats what i remember. Lol
I always thought it was weird that Vince Howard was supposed to be a motorcycle officer but he always arrived in a squad car wearing the helmet.
Thanks for watching!
That's hilarious! I never noticed that.
Remember him from star trek.
This my show favorite , I grow up with a firefighter dad and we still watch this together
Thanks for watching!
Captain Hank Stanley is my favorite. You might want to update this video to include Tim Donnelly, the actor who played Chet. He passed recently. You could also add dispatcher Sam Lanier. Sadly he has Also left us.
Thanks for watching!
I'm so glad COZI TV brought this series back!
This was my favorite TV show. I loved this show.
I just loved the real world impact this show had with making the paramedic program so popular all over the United States.
So sad about Tim Donnelly. I loved the banter between Chet and Johnny.
Johnny was my favorite character.
Hello again Facts Verse 👋 I was a young kid when I watched this show. It was the beginning of my obsession with first responders and medical tv shows. My favorite cast member was Randolph Mantooth. I wish that I could watch the seasons again because I liked the show so much. Thank you for another great video and I hope you and your subscribers have a wonderful day/evening. 🌤
I loved Adam 12 and Emergency!!
Random bits I remember from reruns included the characters explaining what exactly it was they did. paramedics weren't all over yet or something like that. I'd have to chain watch again
I live in England & I think I've seen a few of these if I recall but not the series. But hey still loved the info & video. Thanks Tim 👍 have a wonderful week
Julie had a stroke in 1995 and passed away on October 18, 2000 (on Bobby’s birthday) from complications of that stroke
You also forgot to mention Tim Donnelly who just recentaly passed away.
I liked the whole cast members on emergency 51 they were the best shows from brendon
I loved emergency and Robert Fuller was one of my favorites.
I still watch Emergency to this day. May he rest in peace.
Randolph Mantooth as Johnny Gage in the TV show Emergency. He still make my heart sing.
Emergency was one of my favorite shows along with Dragnet
You also forgot Michael Norell who played Captain Stanley is still with us in his late 80s
I remember this show when I was a kid. I didn’t even think about it until you guys brought it up. As the saying goes, thanks for the memories. And no, I’m not first. I could care less.
Try could Not care less LOL
What was it like to be a paramedic? Was it just like the TV show, emergency!? From Ms. Harper Stacey.
@@toniatchison3678 thank you so much for the info on being an paramedic. I am so glad that the tv show had such a positive influence on you. Stay safe and healthy. God bless you. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
Gauge was my favorite. I was also a firefighter and his character is like mine lol I love this show. Although some things changed it’s pretty still the same cool. Thanks for the video !
Michael Norelle who played "Cap" is also still alive.
Always wanted to work for someone like Capt. Stanley
Tim Donnelly was the most recent to pass.
I used that 3 tone horn at the beginning over the PA at my work today as I announced our annual fire drill...😊
Thanks for watching!
@@FactsVerse You're Welcome!... Thanks for the great videos!
That's hysterical!!
@@desireelococo1747 It was so perfect....lol
As a teenager, I had such a crush on Kevin Tighe! He was my favorite actor on that show.
Thanks for watching!
Yes you forgot Tim Donnelly who played Chet Kelly. Maybe you can update it later.
Sam Lanier (dispatcher) and Tom Donnelly (Chet Kelly) have also passed away.
I grew up watching all of the shows you mentioned, & I enjoyed watching them all. I always had a "thing" for the beautiful Julie London. RIP to all.❤
I remember watching this show when I was a kid. I still love the reruns. I liked all the main characters. I could not say which one was my all time favorite.
Thanks for watching!
SUPER Emergency was a great Series..Julie London such a classic Actress..
I love this classic u will learn alot from this show just in case of a Eemergency
Thanks for watching!
Kevin Tighe guest starred as a patient on ER. By that time his hair was milk white. I was grinning when I recognized him. I was yelling at my TV ‘do y’all know who that is?!’
Of the cast members who have died in the past few years have been Mike Nerill and Tim Donnelly. RIP, To Captain Hank Stanle and Chet Kelly, you were loved and are missed. Love from Marysville, California KMG 365, Squod 51 in quarters.
yaw forgot Sam Lanier and Tim Donnelly
Growing up in the 60's was the best 👌. Everything was new and fresh as the world turned.
Just to let you guys know that you forgot to the rest of the stars of emergency...
Chet Kelly,Marco Lopez,Mike Stoker,Mike Pickard. Just to name a few. I still watch Emergency every day
It was amazing that Jack Webb hired Bobby Troup for the show. Julie Loudon was Webb's ex-wife and was married to Troup.
I watch emergency reruns five times a week never gets old the network needs to make a return with the cast children.
I never remember watching the show during the years it was on because as a teenager I was out on Saturday night with my friends. My husband was a big fan and has gotten me into watching it now. Once you start, you get hooked. I remember Randolph Mantooth from the mini-series The Seekers and a few movies in the 80s. Always thought he was so handsome. Its fun to see his comedic performances on Emergency. He and Kevin Tighe worked so well off each other.
M brother and I were volunteer fireman in a small town in Montana, loved this show, never missed an episode,
I'm surprised that you didn't update this to include Tim Donelly who played Chet Kelly!
