Same here, I got this suv on our 1500km trip. I couldn't believe the radius of turning, I could literally turn around without backing up. Then cooled seats, massage oh my I fall in love with this car.
I just got my 2019 Expedition Max Limited (Stealth) 3 days ago. So far, so good. Very happy with it. Still waiting for when I can take on at least a 50-mile trip somewhere.
The largest ford suv in their lineup is actually the expedition max. Ford Expedition wheelbase is 122.5”, width is 79.9” Ford Expedition Max wheelbase is 131.6”, width is the same though
I’ve got a lifted 08 Ford Expedition - it’s at 186K miles and has done very well. I’ve seen a few of the new Expys but their price tag keeps me away from any sort of upgrade.
marvellous review estonding ca my 2014 expedition is doing just estonding with 106,000 miles on it with no issues on it . definitely the best ford suv . explorer should learn about looks reliability from this one
I wonder how this would handle 700+ miles per day. The fuel economy for the size class makes it really attractive as a cross-country private jet for your family
Soon I'm getting one of those SUVs later this year. Been my dream car since freshman year of high school. Almost getting there I'm saving my money now for the down payment of this SUV
VA Wolfhunter trolling all over this post eh? Seems like you’re a little bit emotional on this topic. I’ve owned three 6.2L Denali’s and now have a 2019 Expedition Platinum. I purchased the Ford because it rides much nicer, has more available torque and power, is more fuel efficient and the overall build quality and interior comfort is much better. I say this from the perspective of someone who has owned both. Have you? Or are you just here spitting ignorance without real knowledge?
Concerning the drive modes turning left/right (@15:50), it all depends on how you look at it. I think Ford meant it to be a visual image as if the mode selection icons were actually on the physical mode knob and not in a static position above the mode knob. Picture this... the mode is set for whatever icon is currently at the 12 o'clock position on the knob and you want to switch to the icon/mode at the 11 o'clock position on the actual mode knob. Then you would turn right (clockwise) to go "backward" from icon at 12 o'clock to the icon at 11 o'clock if you were looking at icons on the physical mode knob and not the dash display. This is what I believe that Ford is trying to mimic in the way you turn the mode selector (the icons are actually on the knob rotating as the knob turns, verses the knob being a point to static icons around the knob). Either way... GREAT VIDEO... thanks.
Just bought the 2020 expedition platinum w max-tow pkg... not much choice when you want a vehicle that will last 25yrs, hold up under frequent 1,500 mile roadtrips anywhere in the country with 5 passengers, 2 large dogs, and towing a 5k lb trailer behind without anyone feeling crowded or vehicle being underpowered. Its essentially a mix between a light 4x4truck and large SUV. I can only justify it as a lifetime purchase though...it looks like the 2020 model fixes most of the complaints with the 2018 design. Better noise control, higher tow limits, and ecoboost engine fuel injection fixed to spray above and below cylinders to avoid clogging. Only issue is city driving mpg....drops from 25+ mpg on freeway to 13.3 in stop and go traffic. On the other hand, it is still slightly shorter than a f150 and the suspension is better than any comparable truck- so no issues as a daily driver. Ford could improve by including bigger tow mirrors.
Have you used it for towing yet? I'm in a similar situation. Wife, 2 kids in carseats, 3 large dogs, and a 5k lb 25ft travel trailer. Looking at the Max, just a tough decision given their price.
If I ever make a lot of money, this is the car I wanna get. I hope they don’t make it ugly or screw it up in the redesigned models which would be the ones I drive.
To bad they don't offer the 5.0 V8 the Ecoboost engines are very high tech with the turbos. Also is the water pump a internal part on the engine ? I've heard this could cost up to 2k to replace the WP. If you are lucky and the coolant doesn't wipe out the brgs.
At 15:04 you must be on meds if you can't understand that. That IS The correct way, imagine that knob is what you are seeing in the display, or if the knob had those symbols ! The display TURNS WITH THE KNOB! It is not "moving" the display left or right.
Think of it this way. You are moving an arrow, but instead of the arrow moving the to each symbol each symbol comes to the arrow. It is moving in the proper direction. I get it alot when playing games on the computer.
Very good review. The only thing you missed was the tires size. It's not a big deal for most of people, but I always looking for the tires size in the car car review. Overall - great video. Thank you.
The thing i can see that i do not like is the same thing that is on my 2004. That if you want all the options you also must have a sunroof. I hate sunroofs. I also do not see why they could not have an 8cyl option. Yes it has a turbo 6 but that is not as good as an 8. Even giving us a diesel option would be nice. I would highly consider getting one. But my 2004 has not died yet so no need for a new one.
Nobody's worried about long-term reliability for Ford just ask the police departments because the police departments around the country have been using fords for years reason being Chevy and Dodge just don't hold up Ford makes the best cars trucks and SUV hands down case closed
Wow that's some ignorant reasoning, First of all know your facts. The Fords were cheaper, that's why many departments bought them, secondly they were in the shop a good bit, and thirdly coming from someone who actually has driven them, the Crown Vic was a garbage police car. I had a 2005 Impala and would take it over any Crown Vic 10/10........ Ford builds junk... Turbo Junk...... no V8's just Turbo, Turbo, Turbo when that turbo goes you have a complete TURD
@@vawolfhunter4494 the person that doesn't know his facts is you fords are the most dependable and reliable vehicle on the planet get your facts straight anything else is overpriced garbage
And you say Chevy Impala biggest piece of garbage I worked in just about every auto parts store there is and Chevy was the top-of-the-line in garbage 😡😠 have you heard of the 3100 and 3800 engines
The Expedition will have to improve instrument cluster and infotainment system if they want to really compete with GM. A tad too many buttons. Still think Lincoln has the best full size SUV
@4:03, look at the terrible fit on the trim(chrome strip under the back door window) and door misfit to body panels. A lot of money for loose stamping.
Thanks for taking the time to make this review. Not trying to be a troll; just for future reference when you are showing a feature your hand waving and waving around and pointing is disconcerting and gets in the way of what you are trying to show.
22 inch wheels do not look "perfect", in fact they are WORSE THAN USELESS. This vehicle is heavy, and these moronic, rubber-band tires will be destroyed in a very short time.
I drove a this as a rental for a week, it was amazing. Im actively saving for one, it is my dream SUV!

how large are the cup holders? My 2017 were large enough to fit a full coffee cup. Not that way with the 2018...
Our family has a 98 Expedition XLT. Its amazing to see how far the Expedition has evolved.
yes, I got the 2018 exp max limited version, very quiet and powerful, easy to drive
I just got my V-tech LETA 2020 early this year. No issues whatsoever, its perfect.

Amazing power train. Love the 3.5 and 10 speed in my 2018 F150. Torque monster and a joy to drive in any conditions.
