Kelly Nguyen I'm also an artist by the name of Montell Fish and I just recently started uploading my music to UA-cam instead of Soundcloud. I share similiar styles to Jaden, WIlough, Kendrick and Krule. It would be dope, if you guys could check out some of my stuff and subscribe please ! Just uploaded my newest track "Pink Love 2.0".
I remember when I met Archy behind the theater of his show and he was eating a banana and seemed somewhat intoxicated. All I can say is he has an invisible glowing aura of artistic genius when you're next to him.
Being a brand new fan of this guy, I find myself just being drawn to his music and sucked in. Almost like even if I disliked his music, I'd never be able to stop listening. His voice has this "shut the hell up and stop what you're doing and listen to me" vibe and I love it.
im always so surprised when i hear such a low sultry voice coming from a face like his he just looks so young and innocent looking and i guess thats the appeal
***** moahahaha, laughing my sox off...Gingers hehehe..La Roux..mffhffhhhh..hehehe.. I love this song too and his impressive voice. Not so sure it´s Gingerish though :D..more juvinile perhaps
so good, pure poetry. guitar licks don't have to be more than what they are. I enjoy the three songs I like off this album more than just about any other song. I have been listening to King Krule juxtaposed to Father John Misty.
And hate runs through my blood Well my tongue was in love But my heart was left above I’ve got to be leaving now I thought I’d never be shot down But girl I’m black and blue So beaten down for you Well I’m beaten down in bloom Don't break away I waste away Don't break away And lay me out across the grey Hours I should have kept at bay Well I had no chance to get away I can’t escape my own escape Even more when it’s sweet to the taste Red stairs lead sense astray I look up and seek for faith Oh but girl just lean over and say Well lay me down Pull me out Well take my crown again He’s submerged in doubt But wait, I make my last request See this could be the best But blue I need to rest Well I've been broken down So much has lost it now I just stop and say Girl don’t you worry ‘bout a thing Baby, blue
Well not to us aha. But anyone i show him to just disregards him because of the deep grungy voice and i guess shoutyness. I was the same at first but found myself coming back to his music without knowing why. It took me lots of listens to understand his music i guess. I just wish i had his talent tbh. Im 17 and d o n t k no w how to write a song
Archie has so much soul! I agree, it is absolutely amazing that a fifteen year old boy wrote this song and performed it just like this. I can't wait for him to come back to the States. His gifts are incredible. and his guitar work is si simple and pure, precise and clean. His influences are so diverse it will blow your mind. Donnie Hathaway and the Jam!
this song is easily my favorite of all time. Every part of it brings me into this deep meditative state, where I mourn, I hope, but most of all, I just be.
I was right behind you man, that is still one of the coolest hats I've ever seen. He stayed for the next act and just chilled in the crowd. What a down to earth guy.
Discovered this almost a decade ago when you needed an IT guy to access overseas releases, it is still as amazing as it was so many years ago and reminisces of a time where the world was just that much more simple, safe and discoverable.
Either this kid is a reincarnation of someone with a crazy spiritual past life or he's a 15 year old with the pain and experience of an old man...or both. This kind of shit is rare
I remember watching this when it first came out and I thought " ew it's probably going to be on of those artsy videos with bad music ". I'm glad I listened all the way through. I've been following King Krule ever since. He makes some stunning music.
It's so mindblowing when you find out he was only 16 when this song was recorded, if he sticks to the music this guys got a good life ahead of him, timeless sound.
I've just got to get the album......every now and then, someone comes along, offering something different. I just love this raw sounding, gritty stuff, and I'm taken by his talent, both song writing and delivery.....respect!
It's so great! Such amazing stuff happens when you let kids be who they really want to be..💜 and he did this all without "professional" help in his room😍 he's great💜💜💜
Ha! The old lady sitting in tha chair was looking at Archy like...."Wow, YOu're REALLY good, but why in the fuck am I here.." And ARchy looks at her like "Yea I know this shit goes in...but Why in the fuck ARE you here???" Its almost like he didn't want to acknowledge her presence when he looked in her direction.... KMSL
[Verse 1] And hate runs through my blood Well my tongue was in love But my heart was left above I’ve got to be leaving now I thought I’d never be shot down But girl I’m black and blue So beaten down for you Well I’m beaten down in bloom [Chorus] Don't break away I waste away Don't break away [Verse 2] And lay me out across the grey Hours I should have kept at bay Well I had no chance to get away I can’t escape my own escape Even more when it’s sweet to the taste Red stairs lead sense astray I look up and seek for faith Oh but girl just lean over and say Well lay me down Pull me out Well take my crown again He’s submerged in doubt [Verse 3] But wait, I make my last request See this could be the best But blue I need to rest See I been broken down So much has lost it now I just stop and say Girl don’t you worry ‘bout a thing Baby, blue
When I had severe anxiety this song really felt like a breath that was hard to get when you felt suffocated. Every time I listen to it, it takes me back to that time. Fuck anxiety.
At 2:38 when the camera moves out to reveal the older lady whom I'd presume to be his mother, the video gains great depth. It reveals the vulnerability and self-consciousness he must have felt during the filming along with any lapses in self-confidence and privacy of passions to someone he most likely did not want to be aware. This video is subtle yet powerful especially from the perspective of artists.
It's kinda mind blowing that 15 year old kid wrote and performed this
+Adrian Christ Insane ! :)
+Adrian Christ Did he write all the music?
+conor o lochlainn he did
that makes me feel so bad about my own music
Makes me feel bad about my entire life! haha
My heart melts every time he sings "Girl.. Don't you worry bout a thing" sweet jesus
YES omg
i read this comment as he sang that line
Good god, after years of listening to King Krule, I STILL can't help but to say that this man, is a musical GENIUS!!!
He is certainly a musical prodigy. The concept of prodigies is nothing new, but it is still awe inspiring to see one in action.
omg, the novelty of this won't wear off after time? What will I do???!
This has become my new favorite king krule song. I used to be indifferent towards this song but now I'm in love with the guitar in this song
these are my exact feelings
i love that song
same
This song is lovely, but imo baby blue is just beautiful. That my favorite record by him.
Kelly Nguyen I'm also an artist by the name of Montell Fish and I just recently started uploading my music to UA-cam instead of Soundcloud. That riff is glorious
saw the thumbnail and thought i was getting rickrolled
Those guitar chords should be favored over any stress medication.
Thats not counting oxycontin...right?
I remember when I met Archy behind the theater of his show and he was eating a banana and seemed somewhat intoxicated. All I can say is he has an invisible glowing aura of artistic genius when you're next to him.
That sounds awesome lol. Im going to his concert in march. I really hope to meet him but I doubt it haha.
Being a brand new fan of this guy, I find myself just being drawn to his music and sucked in. Almost like even if I disliked his music, I'd never be able to stop listening. His voice has this "shut the hell up and stop what you're doing and listen to me" vibe and I love it.
im always so surprised when i hear such a low sultry voice coming from a face like his he just looks so young and innocent looking and i guess thats the appeal
i said the same thing, i thought he was gonna be buff and bald when i heard a lizards state
Its from the smoking
fantasticmrghetto1 thats bullshit
jake noblett the kid smokes a lot
yeah but his voice has always been like this.
Everytime he has a close up, I got the feeling he's playing a guitar. (especially when he's looking at the ground)
Even as a kid he looked like he'd been through a lot
this is my favorite la roux song.
lol wut mate
***** moahahaha, laughing my sox off...Gingers hehehe..La Roux..mffhffhhhh..hehehe.. I love this song too and his impressive voice. Not so sure it´s Gingerish though :D..more juvinile perhaps
***** maybe you should stick to your bandwagon sadboy aesthetics, so totally avant garde guys.
...
I know right. ^
You literally said "la roux?"
What are they saying?
I used to just come back to this video/song frequently while doing college work back in 2011. I can't believe it's been so long!
I could listen to that beginning riff forever and ever and ever on repeat
i remember the first time I heard King Krule, I didn't really like him. Now I love his music.
it's a shame i'm only hearing this in 2014, man so much talent.
Kodie Jc damn its a shame that Im only hearing this in 2019. im late af 😅
Jan Michael Portugaleza It’s okay. He kept on making good music after this album.
Chick in Kodie Jc pic is fukkn bangin dude🔥🤘🔥
@@janmichaelportugaleza405 me too!!!
Old but gold. A classic on my playlists.

I was 14 when i first listened it.. Now I'm 22 and still listening this.. So many memories ...
one of the best riffs in history to me
true
His voice is rich with texture and depth. It is mind blowing that this was written and performed by someone who was only 15.
after all these years, this version still resonates with me so much
this version is much harder to find, thank you sm for putting it on here. reminds me of when i first moved to humboldt CA for college
And hate runs through my blood
Well my tongue was in love
But my heart was left above
I’ve got to be leaving now
I thought I’d never be shot down
But girl I’m black and blue
So beaten down for you
Well I’m beaten down in bloom
Don't break away
I waste away
Don't break away
And lay me out across the grey
Hours I should have kept at bay
Well I had no chance to get away
I can’t escape my own escape
Even more when it’s sweet to the taste
Red stairs lead sense astray
I look up and seek for faith
Oh but girl just lean over and say
Well lay me down
Pull me out
Well take my crown again
He’s submerged in doubt
But wait, I make my last request
See this could be the best
But blue I need to rest
Well I've been broken down
So much has lost it now
I just stop and say
Girl don’t you worry ‘bout a thing
Baby, blue
Ana Avila thank you so much
But "boo" I need to rest. Otherwise great transcription. Back in that day it was the go to term of endearment for hip hop fans
How the hell was the redhead that got famous Ed Sheeran when this guy exists?
Legit question🤔
@toilet paper that would be "How the hell was Ed Sheeran the redhead that got famous when this guy exists"
I mean...there doesn't even need to be only one..
It's coz he done the nandos skank with example. BANGER. 😂
Everybody's famous.
King Krule is seriously underrated
Well not to us aha. But anyone i show him to just disregards him because of the deep grungy voice and i guess shoutyness. This is a rather deep song. It baffles me how a fifteen year old could have so many feelings like this. Hes so damn young.
Panning towards the grandma was absolutely necessary in this music video.
Bear Boy drinking tea, eh?
He was 15 when he made this song.
impressing!
I wish I could write songs.
I'm now 17
Wow
Dante Appling you’re 20 now, any better with the song writing!
Found this 6 years later and it's still an amazing song
obviously time doesnt exist?
This ginger has soul.
this song is easily my favorite of all time. Every part of it brings me into this deep meditative state, where I mourn, I hope, but most of all, I just be.
I was right behind you man, that is still one of the coolest hats I've ever seen. He stayed for the next act and just chilled in the crowd. What a down to earth guy.
Earl sweatshirt & King krule = music!!
For those wondering he was 15 at that time. What a fucking genius.
revive i was shocked when i found out (in a good way obviously) what a genius
That little stain of the front of his sweater is so cute.
Great track.
He's got David Bowies cheek bones.
Discovered this almost a decade ago when you needed an IT guy to access overseas releases, it is still as amazing as it was so many years ago and reminisces of a time where the world was just that much more simple, safe and discoverable.
How come I’m only hearing this 9 years later it’s a masterpiece
This song will just simply never get old
Either this kid is a reincarnation of someone with a crazy spiritual past life or he's a 15 year old with the pain and experience of an old man...or both. This kind of shit is rare

I can't believe he's only 11 in this
Now he's a father.
i can't believe he was only one year older than i am now when he wrote this... wow.

+James Collins I honestly thought you were trolling thanks for the rec.

Archy is a contemporâneo artist.... long life!!
The universe's argument to ginger's not having souls.
I'm madly in love with the very first recording of this song.
9 years ago someone pointed out the stain on his sweater. I haven’t forgotten.
that guitar is speaking to my soul

I knew that tag sounded familiar.
And the crown part?! omfg
At least three times a week I search to see if he has announced a new tour or a new album but no, nothing. Release something new asap!
Sam Mcandrew Yeah, two weeks after 6 feet came out he was talking about the next album being almost done lol
yeah i know that. its been nearly 2 years and he has said nothing since
Sam Mcandrew Probably just label fuckery at this point. Maybe he'll pull a Jai Paul

+Sam Mcandrew He's just announced his new album on Instagram!!
I always find myself coming back to this and measuring Archy’s growth
Utopia Uploads still one of his best songs ❤️
It's so great! Such amazing stuff happens when you let kids be who they really want to be..💜 and he did this all without "professional" help in his room😍 he's great💜💜💜
Who hurt you.

Your joke sucks
thank you I try
this whole video is beautifullll
I do not get this video at all
Helps make the vibe of 2020 better
This video is so simple but I love it. It's so simple and yet theres so much concept behind it
[Verse 1]
And hate runs through my blood
Well my tongue was in love
But my heart was left above
I’ve got to be leaving now
I thought I’d never be shot down
But girl I’m black and blue
So beaten down for you
Well I’m beaten down in bloom
[Chorus]
Don't break away
I waste away
Don't break away
[Verse 2]
And lay me out across the grey
Hours I should have kept at bay
Well I had no chance to get away
I can’t escape my own escape
Even more when it’s sweet to the taste
Red stairs lead sense astray
I look up and seek for faith
Oh but girl just lean over and say
Well lay me down
Pull me out
Well take my crown again
He’s submerged in doubt
[Verse 3]
But wait, I make my last request
See this could be the best
But blue I need to rest
See I been broken down
So much has lost it now
I just stop and say
Girl don’t you worry ‘bout a thing
Baby, blue
He looks uncomfortably similar to Tilda Swinton.
My favourite cigarette break song
why is it so mesmerizing? Its like I cant take my eyes off the video...
When I had severe anxiety this song really felt like a breath that was hard to get when you felt suffocated. Every time I listen to it, it takes me back to that time. Fuck anxiety.

Tin tin
it's so amazing song.
He so amazing artist
Not how I pictured him! Jel of that voice.
Oh my, I get these sick chills when the guitar starts playing. He is a natural talent
I literally cannot stop listening to this song
so he was only 16 at this point?
Rorschach is that you?
he's my fav. ginge
the irony is not only is he one with a soul
but he has more than just the average musician
Love this song. It's like every time I go and hear a song of his again its even better
