There was a plat 3 who could airdribble for at least 20sec consistent and quad reset almost consistently. That was in season 14 his name was Pyroblaze. It was on ps4
This is a good example of how as people get better, they are more critical of themselves which is why the diamonds thought of their mechanics as bad compared to the plats who thought they where great
Are you gonna do the other ranks in the future like champ and gc Also gold its been plat and diamond quiet alot (Videos are good) but i would like to see other ranks
Those diamonds and plats are spending so much time learning stuff they dont need in their ranks. They can air dribble but they cant hit a simple open net or defend a easy ball. Position, speed and brains are way more important than a flip reset you can read easily when defending. Cheers ;)
Well I feel like you don't need crazy mechanics till mid champ. I am a C1 I can't keep ball on top of my car for more than 5 sec. I can't consistently flip. Hell I can't even do a basic ass air dribble(probably did only 1 small air dribble till now). All I can do is take boomer shots on target and do decent rotations. And ig that's all you need in this rank
Yeah the skill wall for c1 has lowered since the drop in the mmr requirement. Learn how to dribble infinitely in free play and you’ll get to c2. For c3, you should be able to do basic air dribbles by then and banger shots are good too.
Even in C3 you don't need a lot of mechanics, the only major difference from when I was in D3 is that I can defend from the backboard pretty consistently now, and that's all you need to outplay mechanical players who go for air dribbles or ceiling shots.
As a plat, I practice mechanics a lot, and I don't see any diamond practicing as much as I do. At diamond you realize ''oh damn I forgot I don't have to always go for aerials'' and most plats think they do.
It was an unfair 1v1. The plat player should be in diamond team (d2 in 2s at the video release day and almost a champ before the release, p3 in 1s) and the diamond player should be in platinum team (just d1div2 in 2s and plat1 in 1s!). It's good that youtubers always verify the ranks of the players they choose for the videos. Also a 2v2 in GC was a stupid idea in my opinion because only their goals should be counted and it would be pretty random for them to even score.
I have no mechanics but fast kickoffs, half flip, wall to air drags (on a good day), and dribbling. After being hard stuck plat 1 and 2 for 2 years. I played last week and breezed pass diamond straight to champ. I’ve realized all u have to do is have shot consistency and read the ball constantly
Yeah this wasn’t really fair giving “non- mechanical” players mechanical shots, I just felt like it was just one sided in a way. Given the diamonds had the lead, but giving them shots they don’t usually practice didn’t really make any sense
Just think though, mechanical doesnt need to mean in the air. The diamonds even if they couldnt air dribble, for the previous challenge with something mechanica, they coulda done something ground related like a ground dribble in to some sort of flick
Being mechanical also means being able to air dribble and hit shots in the air such as flip reset if you are not mechanical you would not be able to fluently air dribble and ground driblle as well

Being carryable is a good skill in rocket league tbh. Rotating well, scoring easy chances, and making sure to apply defensive pressure can make up for a lack of mechanics or an off day. It’s a lot easier to rank up like that than to carry every game, because your teammate will rarely be on the same page as you. I got from plat 2 to c1 by keeping it simple generally, not trying to hit any dumb shots. Now that I’m in champ I can finally play how I want, because my teammates have a higher probability of not being counterproductive
As a non-mechanical Champ playing with keyboard and mouse I hate how much trickshots and silly things that are "in the meta" are enforced. Like a good read will be downplayed to something lucky while every wall shot is apparentely masterclass
I'm a high level diamond who's only just scraped into champ this week, been slapped every game bar one up there before being put down so definitely a true diamond. I seriously doubt many diamond player can flip reset plus score, I only started using drills last month. Before that since 2015 nothing but ranked games... Swear all these diamonds are better mechanically than me 😂
I like how he called the diamonds 'non-mechanical' and the first guy nearly hits a double reset and maybe if this dude stopped using the battle bus he might actually play well
You should do this with mechanical diamonds and non mechanical champs, it would be alot better since champs are a lot better at the game and diamond is where you start seeing some actual freestyle
I would of preferred them to play against each other in the actual game. Showing off mechanics and other things was all to help the plats. Great Vid just their was no true test of who’s better.
Mechanical Plats are usually pretty selfish with the ball ( not derogatory ) so it would make sense they shine under a 1v1. non mechanical diamonds tend to shine better as a team. Im diamond but Im awful at 1v1s
Ngl challenge 5 was rated very unfair, the diamond hit equally as good of shots as the plat and was definitely more consistent, diamond shouldve taken the point for it ngl
I completely agree I honestly think he balanced in more for plats between the more mechanical challenges and the way he scored challenge 5 it seemed like it was made for the plats to win
this goes to show you that no matter if you are in the same rank.... not all players are the same... some players are better than others despite being in the same rank... so when someone says all plats suck at mechanics.... think again... but very educational video tho... that goes to show that some plats are actually quite decent at the game...
The ranked challenge was basically which game napkin plays better cause the diamond or plat can't really score (I did play in champ 3 div 4 with a plat 3 and he scored my passes actually, we won)
I think the diamond is right for challenge 5. Should be adding points on the board as consistency is also important on mechanics and also being better is good decision making on mechanics like when to use it and when to shoot, etc.
I've never related to a video title so much, I'm the definition of a non mechanical diamond, I can't do no cool shit but I can basic aerial and other necessary things
When you're in champ you're basic mechanics and game sense will be more than enough to beat a mechanical diamond even if they can't air dribble and so on. The speed of play is so much higher too
Pretty late to this video but after the last reset where the ranking has been made harder , i made it to Diamond 1(in 2's) on keyboard/mouse with no mechanics whatsoever. The only thing you need to learn is to not double commit , don't ball chase , shadow defend , and rotate when needed. I can't flip , i can't dribble , i can't aerial , and a lot of other stuff i can't do. The stuff that i do well , is long shots and kick'ofs.

The diamond playing on GC was so apologetic, kept saying sorry and my bad and my fault n shit, very sweet!
I care about hoops….
the 2v2 was the dumbest challenge lmao. you warmed up with the plat lol plus there’s so many variables to an online game lol
what are these diamonds bro im diamond and there duokey.
You get d3~d1 they prob d1 or d2 and dont call them bad when you the same rank
Nice demo man in the first round
„YOU COULD GO POGO“ „I‘m Not That good Bro“
13:44 crazy voice crack 💀
Banger as always 🙌
Napkin: these are mechanical plats
Plats: cant do air dribble
As a non-mechanical Champ playing with keyboard and mouse I hate how much trickshots and silly things that are "in the meta" are enforced. Like a good read will be downplayed to something lucky while every wall shot is apparentely masterclass
the ceiling into musty that the diamond did , did not bounce, i think it was better than the plat's ceiling shot.. that's not fair
Yea it was but he still said it was a 5 and I am the diamond who hit the flip reset and the ceiling shot musty
‘score an air dribble’
the guy in a battle bus: my time has come
Nobody:
Every single plat on earth: “Let’s gooo!”
Thanks mr napkin for letting me be in the vid
I'm a high level diamond who's only just scraped into champ this week, been slapped every game bar one up there before being put down so definitely a true diamond. I seriously doubt many diamond player can flip reset plus score, I only started using drills last month. Before that since 2015 nothing but ranked games... Swear all these diamonds are better mechanically than me 😂
I like how he called the diamonds 'non-mechanical' and the first guy nearly hits a double reset and maybe if this dude stopped using the battle bus he might actually play well
are you seriously blaming the car and maybe the lack of game sense
@@EternalNico1 it makes a difference, I know I would play like trash with the battle bus
These diamonds you recruiting is a madness
That plat in the start was nuts he deserves higher
You should do this with mechanical diamonds and non mechanical champs, it would be alot better since champs are a lot better at the game and diamond is where you start seeing some actual freestyle
Honestly Turtle Warriorz had the iq of a diamond mechanics of a plat but missed more open nets than a gold
The plat he 1v1 has a higher rank in 1s
That is true I am plat 3 in 1s
I would of preferred them to play against each other in the actual game. Showing off mechanics and other things was all to help the plats. Great Vid just their was no true test of who’s better.
The diamond in the thumbnail is me
Mechanical Plats are usually pretty selfish with the ball ( not derogatory ) so it would make sense they shine under a 1v1. non mechanical diamonds tend to shine better as a team. Im diamond but Im awful at 1v1s
" yaaa " LMAOOOO AT THE END THIS MISS
Tip, for a turtle 1v1, feather boost, you cant hold or immediate loss
Ngl challenge 5 was rated very unfair, the diamond hit equally as good of shots as the plat and was definitely more consistent, diamond shouldve taken the point for it ngl
I completely agree I honestly think he balanced in more for plats between the more mechanical challenges and the way he scored challenge 5 it seemed like it was made for the plats to win
Congratulations on 300k
I must agree. My play teammates are not really fans of thinking.
this goes to show you that no matter if you are in the same rank.... not all players are the same... some players are better than others despite being in the same rank... so when someone says all plats suck at mechanics.... think again... but very educational video tho... that goes to show that some plats are actually quite decent at the game...
Damn i rlly talked with a Friend about this and then i find this, thanks mate
I've never related to a video title so much, I'm the definition of a non mechanical diamond, I can't do no cool shit but I can basic aerial and other necessary things
That's all you really need
I am a very mechanical diamond 1. So maybe you could do the exact same thing as this video but then with a non mechanical champ?
When you're in champ you're basic mechanics and game sense will be more than enough to beat a mechanical diamond even if they can't air dribble and so on. The speed of play is so much higher too
Bro that diamond 2 was pissin me off “I got no boost.. still no boost”
“Us plays we know what we’re doing ya know”
Respect to the plats comeback unlucky for the diamonds
7:35 suiiiii suiiii speeeeeeeeeed
I wish the diamond in round two was the kinda players in my diamond games 😭
Nobody:
Kujulalulu (diamond): "Yeah that's my fault"
"I'm stressing, I'm just stressing so hard"
Or you're bad, "mechanical plat"
Pretty late to this video but after the last reset where the ranking has been made harder , i made it to Diamond 1(in 2's) on keyboard/mouse with no mechanics whatsoever. The only thing you need to learn is to not double commit , don't ball chase , shadow defend , and rotate when needed. I can't flip , i can't dribble , i can't aerial , and a lot of other stuff i can't do. The stuff that i do well , is long shots and kick'ofs.
that non mechanical diamond just hit a mechanic that most gcs cant do
Anyone notice how EVERYONE who misses or makes a mistake says “I couldn’t get there”, “faking”, “I can’t”, “wow he’s good”, “that’s unlucky”, like OWN UP for your mistakes, if YOU mess up it’s YOUR fault plain and simple, own up
A video idea : a high ranked player 1v1 every rank but the twist is there is one ssl chasing the player constantly
"Is it possible that your platness is rubbing off on me?"
the amount of voice cracks in this video is unheard of
The plat teammate was so nervous. U could hear his voice
imagine beeing diamond and cant hit a normal ceiling shot
Mr napkin is now telling everyone it's all about the mechanics. Wtf it's about thinking and decision making
Yeah this vid was messed up big time XD
