      I thought Catherine Parr was an idiot. Henry dies and leaves Parr finally free to make her own choice and the woman choose to marry a man who was obviously out to gain wealth and advancement with the least amount of effort. Even before he wed Parr he tried to get his brother’s permission to marry Princess Elizabeth. Parr was his consolation price.

      Indeed. On one occasion, Kat Ashley, Elizabeth's guardian, came across Thomas and Catherine in a "wrestling contest" with Elizabeth. Catherine was holding Elizabeth while Thomas ripped apart her dress with a sword until she was down to her underwear. This was apparently not the only instance of "high jinks" in which the three took part. Very odd behavior on the part of Catherine who claimed to be a proper evangelical Protestant.

She was a considered a woman as soon as she hit puberty. They got four year olds to go hunting and experience their first blood. She would have been to church ad studied the Bible vigorously and known it was wrong. However, rank was everything. @roxyortiz8819 There is no need to be rude over a TV series. You look very uneducated going beserk like that. Any historian will tell you that you cannot judge people's actions based on moder values. People are heavily influenced by the society around them and the society tells them what is right and wrong. This might not sit right with us today, but in those days Elizabeth was an educated adult and she had the ability to refuse or not have him in her presence. Rank superseded age and she was number 4 in the kingdom, behind her siblings and the lord protector.

    Satisfied. Thomas Seymour got what he deserved. Considering he tried to gaslight and groom his stepniece and stepdaughter Elizabeth (who was 13) and kill his young nephew Edward VI. Also he was such an unfaithful and terrible husband to poor Catherine Parr. All she wanted was to became free of Henry VIII and wanted to make a happy family, but Thomas heartlessly betrayed his wife and used young 13-year-old stepdaughter just to fill up his greed for more power.
    He was such a stupid and greedy man who should have known his place earlier. Maybe Anne Boleyn and George Boleyn cursed him because he and his elder brother Edward planned to draw Anne out and made them sentenced to death so they can make their sister Jane Seymour the second queen consort of Henry VIII. I think Anne Boleyn would have been satisfied if she watched Thomas' neck decapitated since he is the archenemy who resulted in her death and tried to tempt her beloved daughter Elizabeth.

    • @2Amethyst2
      @2Amethyst2 Місяць тому +1

      Thomas and Edward didn't bring about Anne's downfall. They only forced Jane to become Henry's mistress.
      They did hope that Henry would eventually leave Anne for Jane, but they probably thought he'd just divorce her.
      They could never have imagined that she would be sentenced to death because anne was the first queen to ever be executed.
      Other queens' lives have been spared even for adultery and rebellion against kings.
      The only people who caused Anne's death were Henry and Cromwell (who was 100% acting on Henry's orders) because Henry no longer loved Anne but he knew that an annulment wouldn't be enough because Jane's children's legitimacy would be disputed if Anne was still alive.
      However, Thomas was still a worthless trash-piece who deserved his death. His brother too.

    I know everyone is talking what Thomas did to teen elizabeth. I know its wrong but think about elizabeth father, Henry whilst being married to cathrine of aragon he had mistress and even had son with one if his mistresses. (Elizabeth blount). He then seduced anne bolyen changed his religion and ecame supreme head of church if England. But when Anne didn't give him a son he had no more use for or head, lied about anne saying she committed adultery and treason when it was him, but he was the king he was more powerful on earth. He had his sweet moments but he is no better than Thomas seymour, in fact the book I'm reading Thomas and cathrine fell in love he was eager to marry her he couldn't wait till she is lut of mourning. Thomas was also below Henry meaning that he was just a baron. In the book it mentioned no ladies even the ones attracted to his charm wanted to marry him. But with cathrine there was a connection

If I remember correctly she spent the next year? 4 years? Wearing white dresses, no makeup, and simple girlish hairstyles in a attempt to change public opinion. Are they gonna put that in the show?
