The amazing music in this video is from an incredibly obscure Australian/Irish folk band called "The Celts". Unfortunately they're so obscure they have nothing I can link you to, but I have had a deep love for their music since I first saw them live on stage as a child.
great idea generously given
Awesome work Alex a great idea with something most of us just have laying around.
Great idea man, I have been thinking on an idea to do this exact thing and BAM! Thank you for sharing this.
Great tool Alex ! Easy to make and Functional to boot ! Perfect 👍⚒
Nice job Alex , great piece of kit
I gotta make me one of them! I haaaaate warps, had a little wobble today and got it out post temper with a couple of light taps with a hammer.
You've got brass balls using a hammer for warp correction, mate! Hopefully this will save you some future grief!
Valhalla Ironworks brass balls or brain cells?
Clever! I like it :D
Have you ever seen when Japan sword smiths heat up pieces of copper or brass and then just bend the blade slowly over the hot soft metal?
Also nice idea dude.
Yeah! That's what I think Neels was talking about in the stream
Great idea Alex, thanks for passing this knowledge on. Mild steel OK for this?
Yeah, absolutely fine!
Great work mate, it's definitely a must have
You're a must-have
Hi, nice and simple :-) thanks. Do you let your device sit on the blade until cool or do you remove it immediately?
I let it cool like that usually!
thank you for the tip must make one.... be well and be safe...............
First!
Thank you for sharing this brother!
No worries mate!
That's brilliant thanks for sharing
Great jig Alex... Thanks!!
Well I’m on episode 52 of the forgecast and started about 2 weeks ago. Then I decided I would try to make a knife and might make more and this would come in handy. Thanks for sharing Alex!
Awesome idea
That is clever, Alex.
Really cool tip. Thanks dude.
Ensimbi Forge Knives and Tools by Tim Brown my pleasure!
Definitly gonna wack one up tomorrow, that's awesome! good work :)
Thanks, its so Help full.
Glad it helped!
Cool jigg. So do you put the blade in while it is very hot? Because you would have seen the warp at that point
Nah, this is used for when you're putting your knife into the tempering oven. You quench the blade as normal, and if there's a warp, place it into the jig as described in the video before putting it in to do its temper cycles.
Valhalla Ironworks oh I see. Sorry I missed that, and clearly I forgot the tempering and normalising process and I am a basic biach
