Using Easel to Create Curved Letters

- Easel is a free software that is included in the purchase of the X Carve through Inventables. It is very basic and in my opinion designed for the beginner to get started in the CNC world. New enhancements are being made with the recent addition of new fonts and vcarve capability. This is the "Pro" version and is available free for four days per month and unlimited use for a small fee.

Clarence Warner Thank you for your Comment. If you are doing signs as a business, the Easel software is very limited. Check out some of my videos that show the software VCarve Desktop or VCarve Pro by Vectric. By all means look at their product. It is great. I plan on additions videos using the Vectric products. Easel is great for very simple quick projects. Again, thank you. Please consider subscribing to my channel.

What would you consider a slow speed when working with plastic or acrylic? Thank you
You will need to adjust speed so that the plastic does not melt. You want it to cut. If it melts, you’re to slow
Is there different versions of easel then the one through inventables. Your lay out is different than the one I have.
Easel has updated several times since this video was done.
Hey, I have a 4mm thick square acrylic sheet that I want to cut but I only want the upper two sides to have the round edges. Is there any way to do that? Thanks
how do you make your base level? I have been carving and its not level when I try your videos. can I change out the bottom of the board and redraw my own lines? how do you suggest this attempt at leveling the bottom platform. all my wood is level but its carving deeper in other parts than others. thoughts?
First build the frame on a totally flat surface. That should help a lot. If it is not parallel to the gantry, then you can skim the surface with a flat bit. You do not need lines over the entire bed just a few along the x and y axis where you place most of your projects.
Tried that app with three words of a business, (Health Spa Resort) didn't play ball like the pro option had.
I’ll have to look at the app again. It has been a long time. I normally use VCarve to do the curved letters

It might be. All you have to do is move it to a point that you like.
My Father in law is a retired Marine, I've been wanting to carve something for him with the emblem on it for him but can't seem to find a clear enough image to vector myself. Is any chance you would be willing to share the image in an .SVG or similar format?
Do you use Easel? Also, Google is your friend. There are many images there to choose from and some are already in SVG format
Easel seems much more capable nowadays ....most youtube videos from 2015/16 saybeasel is useless....has it changed in past 2-3 yrs?
I have been using Easel for about two years now and it has improved greatly. The basics are the same in that it is a very easy entry level (FREE SOFTWARE). In addition to many new features and apps that have been added, behind the scenes a lot has taken place. The Easel Pro will continue to advance. This was a major step forward for Inventables. Easel Pro is the additional of many new fonts to chose from and the ability to use V Bits. You get four free days per month using these features.
