Alec Baldwin was joined by his wife Hilaria and brother Stephen in the courtroom for opening statements in his long-awaited “Rust” involuntary manslaughter trial. The prosecution got to present its side first, showing the gun that was fired that fateful day and claiming that Alec “violated the cardinal rules of firearm safety.” Baldwin’s lawyer answered back, arguing the evidence will show that “real bullets are never supposed to be on movie sets.” They said the death of Halyna Hutchins was an “unspeakable tragedy” but that Baldwin committed no crime.

It is possible that Alec did not know the gun contained live rounds. However, that begs the question, shouldn't he have known?

He should have checked himself. But that said even if you believe (wrongly) that a Deadly Handgun is not loaded with real rounds that doesn't give you the right to point it at 3 people and pull the trigger. That is insane, negligent, and it's illegal.
In fact, the Movie industry has rules against doing just that to prevent people from getting killed.
So yes Alec Baldwin also some responsibility for Hutchins death.

Never point a gun at anything you don't intend to kill. He has a large family and RIP to the deceased. I truly feel he did not intend her loss, but must pay the cost. Rich people have a different justice or 45 would be jailed already.
