Cracking ride and kudos for getting back on ... bullet dodged :)
Thanks mate, scary continuing after a crash, rookie mistake touching that front brake on those slippy rocks
Great video Andy, looks a fantastic day out , tough but great fun .
It was a good ride, you would enjoy it, well apart from that horrible bridleway just before green quarter 😂
Those limestone rocks are lethal in the wet. Another cracking ride mate thanks for the video.
Thanks mate. Even More so when you dab the front brake 😬😬😬
@@TrailFinder Ha ha yeah, it's not so bad when the back slides out but the front is new undies time.
@@Bobario1 🤣🤣
I seem to recall telling you that Mardale was a nightmare in the wet 😂
Glad you're ok after that off mate, could have been grim. Great loop for sure 👍
It was a nice day till that rain cloud swooped in, was like riding on ice, was very lucky this time, landed on soft grass between the sharp rocks, you will like the next video mate, especially the title (if I dare to do it 🤣)
@@TrailFinder You know I would (whatever it is) 😃
Enjoyed that Mr TF. Bit of everything and glad you weren't badly hurt after your off. Just done Garburn pass and had an off miself, thankfully nothing serious, and the same rookie error as you 😉 Went on to that plantation section and green qtr, bloody loved it
Was lucky that I landed between the sharp rocks on the grass, hp plantation and green quarter are really fun sections, never get sick of riding them
Even though that’s one of our local routes we’ve only done it once in the last couple of years, that push up is absolutely brutal the way you went and the bridleway past Kentmere reservoir is deceptively boggy and rough most of the year. Great video, I hope you got time to relax on your second day off!
Thanks, yeah that push us is brutal, specially on the calf’s,
Brilliant mate. Think of going to the lakes at the end of September. Is there 2 good routes you'd recommend. Ovs not to large as need energy for both days and will be having a few beers on the Saturday 😂
Great ride Andy, next time you’re in North York Moors, would love to ride with you 🚵♀️
Thanks mate, need to get back to the moors, been slacking heading over that way,
Decent effort man - solid day in the saddle and a good 5 miles more than I'm currently capable of.
I your vid's and strava/komoot links to get ride idea's and will deffo look to work a route taking in Nan Bield & HP Plantation in the near future.
That garmin thingo looks like a great safety net but a bit pricy especially with the subscription too.
What gear ratio's do you have on your bike? and front chainring?
Hope the leg isn't too bad.
Keep up the good work, commentary to bike/path noise is spot on.
It’s not pricey when it saves your life though mate, on this ride I had zero phone network, I also saw 1 person all day, if I had of broken my leg I would have died, or very high risk of dying
I have 52 tooth cassette with a 30t front chain ring
Nice riding 👏 especially after having an off, that grassy climb is so much better on my E 😀
Yes it’s hard to get going again after a crash, confidence just goes!! Bloody e-bikes!! 🤣🤣
Great video mate pleased all was good on your off
Got off lightly mate, could have been a lot different
Sod the Lakes / Wales/ Scotland.... go to Spain / Canaries....nice and sunny,😎 dust not mud👍
Yeah, might just pop there for a quick ride after work for a few hours
Great video but that looked brutal. Total pisser when you have an off and have to pull yourself together and keep going, we’ve all done it. 😬
It totally knocked my confidence. If it wasn’t for me making a UA-cam vid I would have probably walked the rest of that trail
That climb made me feel inackered just watching 😮. Can i ask which garmin you use?
1030 plus 😁
I'm going to windermere in the lakes for a week, what would you say are some rides I should do
Is the climb up High Street rideable on an E Bike ? If not then I'll bring the manual bike for when I do this route, because hike a bike with E Bikes is much much worse. I've done Nan Bield Descent 3 times before and it's one of my favourites, I did a different route though and got to it via Harter Fell instead. That stones section were you crashed looks really awful.
There is no carrying, so pushing in walk mode is doable for the ebike
Great video mate. The rocky section where you had the off looked awkward as hell.
Yeah tough section in the wet, very slippy, touched that front brake at slow speed, rookie mistake
Brilliant video again mate !
What grips do you use and do you find that they rest your hands when cruising ?
Argon gp1 and they are very comfortable cruising and descending with them having the big platform
Great vid ive walked up to highstreet from haweswater in torrential rain good to get back on it after the off takes balls ., especially on yourself well done mate . I also looked at the komoot route and It looks like you went down hiking trails is this ok ?
Yeah took some getting back on the bike after that, my confidence was hit abit, the section where I crashed (mardale bell) is a footpath, so not for bikes, just like my local trail centre Stainburn forest is not for walkers, but walkers still go walk around it , and let there dogs shit everywhere, so I’m not bothered about riding footpaths anymore.
Was this recent or a while ago? Just looking at the amount of water....
11th may
You inspired me to get a Sawyer filter bottle but it doesn’t fit in my bottle cage like yours, which base do you have for it? Oh, and why not do a vid at Hebden Bridge
Any 500ml bike bottle, just needs adapting slightly so the filter just touches the bottom.
Don’t know that area
Great ride mate. I noticed that you haven’t got your axs dropper post on your bike. Did you have problems with it?
No not at all Kevin, it’s an amazing bit of kit, only problem with it is the 170 drop, it was holding my riding back as the seat would hit me, I now have the 240mm drop one up, transformed my riding, especially on steep trails,
@@TrailFinder good to know thanks. Keep dropping videos, it’s always a good day when a Trailfinder vid drops 👍
@@KevinSimpson_MTB thanks mate, really appreciate that, it takes a lot to do the vids, so reading comments like this makes it all worth while, cheers for watching
thought the bell was our phones! 🤣
They literally both got there phones out 🤣🤣
Some great bike control there. Did the fall hurt or did u get lucky and land on the grass 🤣
It did hurt when I finished the ride, landed between 2 sharp rocks onto grass, was very lucky
@@TrailFinder very lucky mate, live to ride another day 👍
Looking for a MTB bell then try the Spurcycle bell, the sound is loud and long........ (Spurcycle compact bell) 👍 Also what is the Emergency device called that you have???
It’s the Garmin inreach mini mate
Hi, what’s the rescue gadget you carry ? I also solo ride and should really have something like that, Ta
It’s the Garmin inreach mini , expensive bit of kit, but worth it , the device is around £250, and the subscription to the iridium satellite system is £12 per month
@@TrailFinder Top man👍, is it a stand alone unit or do you need other Garmin gear ?
@@rubinsteinkleer8334 stand alone bud
What GPS do you use mate?
Garmin 1030 plus bud
Thanks
i do that bit up high street try push 25 kg ebike up
I couldn’t Ashley, that’s why I don’t own one and never will 😂
@@TrailFinderSame here mate.
