So there is a difference in the economics when you compare the individual racer's economics vs. the track owner's economics. In the long run the owner is going to make more money selling the disposable motors. Of course he will make money selling motor components for the rebuildable motors, but probably not as much since the motors will last much longer. He will also need to keep an inventory of those parts which is cost to him. Keeping a track open is an extremely difficult proposition especially in today's circumstances. It's a philosophical of course.
