Also going to Japan on November with my 9-month old by then. I am a Ghibli fan myself, so this itinerary is just the perfect one for a laid-back trip with a baby as it is only recommended to book just one main activity and a big chunk of downtime to avoid overwhelming them and also for us to keep his baby routine. Thank you!!
Just found your channel as I was going through travel information for the golden week. These vlogs are so informative and lovely! Makes me so grateful to experience this life everyday! ❤from Yokohama
I saw somewhere that getting on the ticket website 30 minutes prior to opening time might get you in front of the line, I did that but still ended up #13000+. Luckily I was still able to snatch my tickets on my preferred date. Having multiple devices queued might help. When you see a time slot available don’t even bother checking other dates just grab it and run.
hi! Ghibli Museum tickets go on sale a month before. So for example if you're going in April, tickets will go on sale early March. I wrote a blog post with more details about how to get tickets here: lifestylebyremi.com/ghibli-museum-mitaka-tokyo-itinerary/
Hi! Unfortunately I haven’t done a deep dive specifically on museums covering this topic in Japan. The museums I have been to in Nagasaki and Hiroshima talk about the impact of the war from the Japanese perspective. But they also dedicate much of it and the nearby parks towards pushing for peace. It’s actually really moving and I’d recommend checking it out if you’re able to. I hope this was a little helpful? Have a great time during your trip this summer!
How do you get the ticket? Because i tried to buy from lawson website but its really quick sold out. The web said the ticket only sell a month advanced at date of 10th. I’m trying to buy on september 10th for october but it run out so fast.
Unfortunately they make it way harder than it needs to be. I recommend logging onto the site a little before the release time so you can get in the queue as soon as it opens. Tickets sell out very quickly if you’re a foreigner. If you know someone in Japan, they can use the Lawson ticket app and then pick up the tickets and pay in person at a Lawson store. Good luck!!

maybe they got permission to film inside ahead of time? But there are signs all around and museum docents reminding you to not take photos or videos. Exterior shots are okay but they want you to be fully present when you walk through the interior. Plus it helps keep the crowds down in certain sections. i hope this makes sense!

We are going in October/November. Would Monday th November be very busy since the day before is Culture day?
Oct/Nov are great months to visit! I'm not sure if it'll be any more crowded than usual at the museum since tickets are very limited
How do you know about sheeta?
I have yet to find non biased WW2 Japanese museum's based on online reviews. We wish to visit this summer any help or not exist? Thank you.
