    I ordered my first tamiya rc kit the 190e merc because of your channel. I am excited to build my first rc. The other rc I bought was an rtr. Really like the idea of a kit. I appreciate you taking the time to document your builds and film the cars running! Shout out from the united states! Please keep making videos!!!! :D

    Great work mate. Brought back lots of memories of building the Thunder Dragon many, many moons ago . Should be back home sometime tomorrow now the patio is finished.

      Cheers Billim-N-Mates!!! Yeah, wish I remembered better when building it though - made loads of mistakes! Haha silly old git I am! This one is a bit posher though mate - 4 shocks, CVD's and a rear stabiliser - no expense spared sir! Good to have ya back soon - we need a trip up the park with a few RC's... :p

    So you used some thick oil and made yours a bit stiffer? 😂 Great build vid mate. That steering setup is quite odd with that bent bit of metal bar joining the two sides. Also that prop shaft is a bit weird too. And the wheel hubs! Good old Tamiya and their quirky ways! So this must be done now judging by the pics you put up of the body. Also with Boris specifically saying we could go out with RC cars, you can give it a decent test. Look forward to seeing it in action. I assume that you are waiting to hear what's happening about work? Meanwhile, enjoy the time off. Cheers for now mate 😀

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  4 роки тому +3

      Hi Pete! Oh yeah, the thick oil does the job for me! And yeah, there is a lot of oddity about this kit, but all a throwback to the past - other Tamiyas have that steering connecting metal bar and the coat-hangar propshaft (check out your TA02 Escort, it has both). Yeah, all finished except the cockpit, drumming up the bravery to do the driver! He has a balaclava on - how am I gonna paint that? I don't think I have a small enough brush! So we can go out and play - hooray - going to the park when Rob comes home, soon I hope. I think I'll be back to work on 1st June, so making the most of the time. Thanks again Pete and catch you soon. :)

    Hey Brother! I was wondering what I would learn from this part. Shock building! I like the “pre-oil the o-rings” segment. I really have a tough time with RC shocks. Will have to try your technique for my next shock build. I like the color scheme Tamiya uses for the chassis parts. They make RC fun. Still can’t find any Rally kits in stock. Thanks for the tutorial. You really have a gift for teaching!! Take care Mark 👍🏾👍🏾

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  4 роки тому

      Hi Paul! Nice to know you found something of use in this rather long build video! Yeah, and try the "oil in first" method, before the piston, works a treat my friend! This sure is a fun Tamiya to build. Hope you find a rally kit soon, hopefully with the restrictions easing, we will see more stock on the shelves in the near future. Thanks for the kind words, brother! :)

  • @razif6916
    @razif6916 4 роки тому +1

    For Shocks setup..how i would do it..1st no bubbles..would let them seat on the shock rack for a while..with no more bubbles in there.. 2nd push the rod up half way into the shock body..this is to reduce the pushback..3rd place the rubber cover n cap it off..oil type depends on your liking.. medium is ok..with medium stiff spring..u dont want a over damped shock on a soft spring.

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the insight, Razif! Good technique you have. But by filling the shock with oil before inserting the rod and piston eliminates the bubble almost immediately. I agree, an over-damped shock on a soft spring is not good. I have run the Terra Scorcher with the #700 shock oil and it works very well! All the best from mark... :)

      Mark Bryan RC the good thing is you are heading into better weather! So a great time to drive and enjoy your kits. I’m running out of warmth. I need just a few more nice days for painting bodies! We don’t have the extreme cold like you guys here in Melbourne, so I can get some wet weather driving in, just harder to paint in the cold and wet, less forgiving. 👍🤓🇦🇺

      Yeah, it's been dry but a little chilly for a week or two here in the UK - but it was really warm before that! The lockdown has just been eased, so should be able to get out to the park! Hi Mark firstly thanks so much for your videos. I bought this kit for my son and we have managed to build the car and it’s working. Couldn’t have done it without you !!!! Problem we are having is getting the Etronix Pulse EX4G to work properly with the car. The steering is working but throttle trigger is not. The throttle works with the CH4 knob. Given lock down I don’t know where to turn and wondering. If you had any advice. Thanks so much

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  4 роки тому

      Hi Ian, first of all, thanks for the kind words and support, much appreciated. As for the throttle not working, it sounds more like an issue with the ESC than the transmitter or receiver. What ESC do you have? If it's the TBLE02s, it could be that the ESC is set to brushless mode. Also check the ESC cable is plugged into the correct receiver port, should be ch2, and that the plug is the correct way around. Sorry if this sounds a bit basic, but it's best to start on the simple things. Let me know how you get on. Best regards from Mark... :)

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Garry - I did the lettering with a Pentel white paint pen - 0.5mm tip. It was about £3 from eBay. Does the job, but you need a steady hand and a couple of coats, I found the paint is really thin and comes out very fast! All the best, mate! :)

    What is the difference between the neo scorcher and terra scorcher?

    • @MarkBryanRC
      @MarkBryanRC  4 роки тому +1

      The Terra Scorcher is a vintage re-release from 1988. The TT02B Neo Scorcher is a completely new design of chassis, based on the road going TT-02 chassis but with different suspension. So the 2 cars have absolutely nothing in common except the name! Hope this helps. :)
