I wasn't shocked by any of them honestly, my mom got her tubes tied 12 years ago and about 4 years ago she got pregnant agin but ended up having a miscarriage.
I am living proof that vasectomys do not always work.

it's just about chances. There are a ton of other factors that play a role in successfull fertilization that were not taken into accound here. The perspective here in the video was "if the semen can get near the vagina, it's a yes on pregnancy." If you really end up pregnant is another topic.
A big reason why people don't get pregnant while trying to get pregnant, is that they're stressing about it. Stress does a lot of nasty things...usually when couples stop trying to get pregnant, a miracle happens, and they suddenly get pregnant...only because they stopped stressing about it. 🤗

I'm that 1% that happens even if your tubes are tied. My mom had one tube and one ovary, yet I still managed to move from point A to point B even though the tubes were still tied. Stubborn since conception.
Were her tubes tied or did she just have one ovary removed, like from a cyst for example? Because there are 2 ovaries and you can still get pregnant if you have just one ovary.
A She had one of her ovaries removed due to a cyst that burst, and her uterus was dangerously thin. That paired with a tied tube which was stitched and burned before tying made it very unlikely that I should've been conceived, but here I am!

My really good friend was born after his mom had her tubes tied. Not only that, but he was born four months premature, and she continued getting her period through the ENTIRE pregnancy. She didn't know she was pregnant until she went into labor. He was only 1 pound and 14 ounces when he was born, but his parents kept and raised him and now he'll be turning 20 soon and is a happy and healthy college student :-) The bad news is that he and his mom's story has me super paranoid about getting knocked up LOL

At least I haven't got pregnant from it and there isn't any personal report of it anywhere on the internet (though a lot of people say it's possible to get pregnant this way). Ofc there's a really really small chance, but it's a miracle, especially if you're fully dressed.

angiemarie00 finally! Someone! A woman can only get pregnant in such a short period of time during her cycle. So many things have to go right, and with age it only gets harder. Also the myth about only one sperm cell that can get you pregnant - total BS. You’d need about a million of healthy sperm cells just to dissolve the egg cell’s outer layer for that one guy to actually get inside. And how many actually die on the uterus lining just to balance out the ph levels in order for the rest of them to make it alive to the tubes. Also people here don’t realize how easy it is to miscarry in the first 12 weeks. 12! You know how long that is?! People here treat pregnancy like it’s a burden or a punishment when it’s a blessing and a whole lot of luck. Sorry... just had to vent a little)

Something interesting to note; you can also get pregnant after you've had your uterus removed. If even just one of your ovaries is still intact, you can have an ectopic pregnancy, which is where the fertilized egg attaches to somewhere other than the uterus. But unlike a normal pregnancy, an ectopic pregnancy is not viable, and can actually kill you.

Like, the semen swims up in there and fertilizes the egg and the egg attaches to the Fallopian tube which most often if the pregnancy doesn’t result in death it results in the Fallopian tube and ovary being removed

Fertilized eggs are implanted outside the uterus like in the abdominal lining or on the bowel and if they survive they are literally known as "miracle babies" but they unfortunately are likely to have tons of developmental health issues.

just fyi, majority of ectopic pregnancies fail, but they can result (rarely) in a full term baby delivered via laparotomy. Honestly, as a Christian I’ve come to believe that only preaching abstinence doesn’t help in regards to keeping from getting pregnant. It only does during the teenage years. Once they go to college all bets are off, because a lot of us don’t know how to use birth control at that point. It’s very dangerous too if a person who is abstinent slips up and has intercourse, because they aren’t prepared for it.

Actually, latex condom and oil based lubricant do mix. The oil based lubricant dissolves the condom which is the problem.

except that is true. the egg can still attach to something and a baby can grow. it usually kills the mother though. my aunt had a hysterectomy after cancer, and one month after the surgery was told she was pregnant; the fetus was growing on her bladder. eight days after receiving the news, and only two weeks before she was due to get surgery to remove the fetus, something inside her stomach ruptured and she bled out.
