Metal + Wood = Genius: Building Counter Height Chairs
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 чер 2024
- Hey everyone, I'm excited to show you my latest project - building some fresh new counter height chairs for our kitchen island. We were pretty bummed about the expensive chairs we found online, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and build them myself! I've always loved woodworking and metalworking, so this was the perfect opportunity to get creative. I went for an industrial vibe with a metal frame, and let me tell you, the final result is pretty rad. I can't wait to hear your thoughts on my DIY metal and wood counter height chairs, so stay tuned for the big reveal and drop a comment with your feedback!"

Awesome looking chairs - you gotta love that Black metal and wood combo
Thanks! Definitely my favorite look
It's funny how much the Festool domino is hated on social media. Great looking chairs!
Yeah it’s kinda amusing lol dominos and CNCs are definitely hated 😆
I love the walnut great job. Those Diablo blades made that Walnut look like butter when it cuts through. LOL
Thanks for watching 😁😁 walnuts the best 💪🏼
Being both into 3D printing modelling + woodworking I've switched to fusion 360. I also have a Shaper Origin -- they have a fusion 360 extension to export faces or sketches. Could speed up the time and accuracy than designing in Illustrator. Just a tip if you didn't know! Enjoying the videos -- cheers.
Love the chair project guys.. they are stunning! You two are so young and talented.. really starting to piss me off. 😉
Thanks! 😆😁
Well done and what a great design.
Love metal and wood builds.
One Handed Maker
Thank you 🙏🏼
I was very skeptical of the metal skeleton when you started sharing. It looks amazing.
Thanks! It was a fun experiment. Definitely learned a few things
Nice build! Did not know if I would like the metal feature, but it turned out really nice. Maybe a sliding dovetail for the backs?
Ohhhh i really wanted to do a sliding dove tail! I was running out of time and was worried about botching it! Lol
Love that you combine woodworking and metal work. Keep it up please.
Thank you 🙏🏼 I appreciate it
I really like the design with how the seat looks floating. Good job!
Thanks Bruce! Was a fun challenging build
Love them, wish I had too, great work.
Thank you!
I think they look great.
Thanks! I appreciate you watching
...and now we can appreciate why these retail for $1000 for a pair. Awesome job!
Absolutely, especially if they are made by hand in a small shop. I would not make these myself for less than $1000 each. It would definitely make my life easier if u made a few jigs but I was only making two.
@@TwoMooseDesign Yeah....if you had a jig, you probably could make an ikea-style kit of these where it would be able to be shipped by UPS and the end user would assemble. Then, of course, you open yourself to liability if some bonehead assembles it wrong and falls off the chair and blames you.
Nicely done!
Thank you! They were fun to make 😁😁
Looks great!
Thank you!!
Those look awesome. Amazing improvement from the previous ones.
Thanks!
I despise modern furniture design 😆 but man, these chairs are beautiful! It is a great design. I totally did not think I would like the metal included in the design but the turned out awesome!
really nice work! what a way to save more than $1k
Thanks! I spent zero dollars technically 😆 I had the left over metal from last jobs and the walnut has been sitting in the shop for like a year and a half
Will you ever put the digital Designs up for this project?
Not unless I make another set, they’re pretty expensive/time consuming so I’m not sure. I do model everything and ended up milling most of the parts on the 𝙲𝙽𝙲
Nice build .. woulda
Been cool to mimic the metal on the foot area .. but this is really nice build
I agree, I just don’t want to straight up copy it and couldn’t think of a better way to pull it off
Add some metal to the footrest to prevent wear on the wood
The only thing I don't like about these is the grain on the seats running side to side. That jumps out at my OCD/ADHD/WhateverOtherWeirdnessYouWantToCallIt and causes me to cringe (sorry, but you DID ask what we think). Other than that, I think they're great! Did you chamfer the bottoms of the legs so they won't chip?
The chairs turned out nice
Hate to inform you, but Diablo brand blades are considered a cheap brand. Diablo is Freud's budget-friendly enconmy blades.
It's called sponsored product.
@@steveseyler8791 I get it, but lets not make it sound like a top notch blade...call it like it is or don't sponsor it.
I never claimed it was the best blade on the market. I said I’ve used there products and like them. Not everyone needs a $100 saw blades buy what ever blade makes you happy
I use diablo blades and think they're pretty damn good for the money. What a dickhead thing to say Johnny Hate.
@@morganmetalcraft1206 I agree with the Johnny's comment. Diablo blades are Frued's budget blades. They may be good for the money, but you pay for what you get. if you like Diablo blades then try a Frued blade and see if they are worth the money.
