Do what you have to and get better Drew... disc golf will be there when it's time. Like your said with the elbow... don't push it and make it worse. You'll be back and better in no time since you got a taste of doing what you love again. I see you standing on a podium or winning one real soon. We'll all be rooting for ya!!
I watched from the gallery and it was unbelievable how much snap and power you generate in your throws. You had some incredible shots and were just really fun to watch overall. Keep it up and I'm sure the wins will come.
I know what you mean about rolling you ankle and walking it off compared to rolling it and falling. When I broke my right fibula after a forehand shot, I het the ground immediately, laid there fore about 10 mins, got up tried to take a step and couldn't, and had to get the fire department to haul me off the course. That was May 26th last year and I still have complications from it. You made the right call, no one is going to hate you for taking care of yourself.
Hope to see you out at the Preserve in a couple weeks feeling better. 🤞 As someone who has sprained their left ankle pretty severely several times (both before and during my disc golf life), don't overlook physical therapy for it or targeted calf/leg exercises once it heals up. The tendons in my ankle are so weak now that all it takes is a small stump or root sticking out of the ground to cause another sprain now and end my round. Also, until it gets back to normal, I've found moderate strength ankle braces to be helpful for minimizing pain, not being a burden during a round, and giving me confidence to not have it happen during the round.
Oh ya, I rolled my ankle real bad a couple years ago and thought I could just walked it off, after a couple months of pain I found out I partially tore my Achilles tendon. Hope you feel better soon.
I'm sorry to hear unfortunate luck. Just take it easy man don't stress too much over it you'll be back in the game soon just lessons learned and fences hurdled. I really do know how it feels minus playing pro tour.
Just remember there are very few people that can throw the disc as far as you. The snap you generate is crazy. I would love to just throw the disc one time as far as you guys. As long as you consistently keep playing competitvely, you'll be right back in the top 10.
My wife and i were there on saturday at beaver state fling. We followed your card with our little vip bracelets. I didnt know what you and andrew were discussing but i heard the conversation. We saw you werent walking well when you left and knew you did the right thing for yourself. That was my first time watching pro disc golf up close in person and i know we picked the right card to follow. I wish you well and a complete recovery
ohhhh dang! yeah i was wondering what was going on after seeing the DNF. destroyed my ankle playing footy... best advice is the foot rocker and tennis ball. best of luck on recovery.
Drew you gotta get out in a field with some cones and practice accuracy.. you can bomb and you can putt but your 2nd and 3rd shots are not accurate LATELY.. just get out there and throw to some circles and get that accuracy up.. i think your putting woes come from your crappy upshots you leave 50ft short! i believe in you!
I can tell you this being a fat guy my whole life. Weight control is 80% diet. No, correct that. It's 90% diet. You can get to the correct weight without exercising at all.
Bummer man! I hope you heal quickly & get back on the horse. Stay healthy & hope to see you on tour soon.

Keep your head up. Let it heal, don't push it too fast. You the man.

I hope your ankle and leg recover quickly.
Love these, would be cool if you could edit some footage from the tournament in here, would love to remember exactly what you’re talking about
Noted!
“On this episode of reclaiming the crown, we film from the throne”
All jokes aside, best wishes for your recovery
Even if it wasn't your best playing, it was great to see you on lead card.

@@DrewGibson I roll my ankles all the time, too....Somebody once said that I have "cricket legs"... ha ha
What procedure did you have on your elbow?
Gotta play the long game and be smart with your body. Smart!
As sone one who rolls their ankles quite often, once you roller it it will be weaker. Get a good brace and learn to trust it again.
Good luck ✌️

@@DrewGibson it was a pleasure watching you guys work💪
You are definitely at "that level".
Get better, Drew.
If Paige Pierce can do it, so can you 👍🏽
That's rough broseph. Not done with the video yet but obviously frustrating given your growth this year.

Everyone is saying the same thing , these courses require more body than skill! Keep your head up brother.
