To save money effectively, it's essential to have a thorough plan.

The variation in income and financial responsibilities among people will impact one's ability to save a given percentage of their income.

The MOST EFFECTIVE money-saving strategy for myself was to set up automatic withdrawals from my primary bank account to various savings and investment accounts at a set rate of 30% of my total income. I found it best to schedule automatic withdrawals for the day income is posted to my primary bank account. I then proceed to live off of 70% of my income and disregard the 30% which was deposited into savings and investment accounts.

Investing in the stock market has HISTORICALLY provided higher returns than other forms of investment. According to Morningstar, the average annual return for the S&P 500 index, which measures the performance of 500 large-cap stocks, was approximately 10% from 1926 to 2020.

I saved 10k in 6months by moving back in with my momma
Update: guys whatever your living situation is it doesn't matter as long as you're happy and the people you share with are aswell. Wether your sharing with your parents, friends, strangers or live by yourself. I could easily live elsewhere but I choose to help my mom by assisting with house bills, maintaince, cleaning and cooking. I don't believe in sitting on your ass doing nothing while your parents do everything for you, no that's not right. It's just a bonus I get to save money.
I know alot of people are struggling financially right now and have no choice but to move back in with their parents house. that's okay!

I recently made more purchases. Saving money for a market downturn is likewise a bad idea. There are numerous ways to look at recessions and depressions, we cannot always expect to make large returns, and taking chances is better than doing nothing. The bottom line is that you will achieve remarkable results by diversifying your portfolio and making wise decisions. My portfolio's raw earnings rose by $608k in just 5 months.

A great tip for food... reconsider the cost of the restaurants where your eating out. Ive stopped eating out on the weekends, instead I buy groceries and cook at home. Its been an overall more pleasant experience. I would get upset when I would go out pay high costs at restaurants and then got lousy service. Instead i cook on the weekends stay home eat in with my family and its great. I don’t deprive myself from going out... instead I go out to the movies with my kids and or for ice cream or a coffee instead... has worked very well for me

I encourage everyone in a similar boat here to take an opportunity like this to save, because you'll never know when something comes up.

Good info. In a nutshell; basically the 1st few sentences say it all. No what you're bringing in and no what your expenses are. Create at budget so that you ONLY focus on the necessary expenses and don't touch the rest. Basically practice being disciplined. See it, want it, understand the difference between wanting and needing. That being established, resist the temptation that you ordinarily would give into, because you're a new, wiser person with an agenda.

This is true, I ended up in the hospital not long ago due to a heart problem. And I am just 27 years old, when I saw my medical bill I almost had a heart attack again. 25,000! After the hospital paid off some of it, I still owed them about 8K. So yes, invest by simply taking care of yourselves.

P P there’s a certain point where you know you got it with money saved yeah of course saving is a great thing and everyone should do it . I save my money . But I don’t starve myself . If you have 40k in a bank account your not going to be broke for buying a 8 dollar plate . Pushing yourself to save a certain amount a month only stresses yourself out you’ll have 1 million in a bank account while but You’ll be in the hospital over a stroke because “of saving money” enjoy life but also don’t “live it to the max” how they say cause you’ll go broke

Its a good thing to save money for interest. But my advice to the low-income employee, save only 40% of your salary draft out your monthly expenses on 30% and create an investment on the 30% balance so as to stay ahead of inflation because if you dont lnvest and grow your money, you'll actuaIIy end up loosing money over time

Absolutely/I couldn't agree more. tho Investing money sometimes can be risky, but it offers higher returns than bank savings accounts and can help people build wealth over the long term
