Great video. There is a lot of good art instruction online but your ability to explain and demonstrate immediately appliable ideas, in relation to rendering is a precious rarity. I'm developing a pretty good grip on the basics of drawing so being able to see slightly more advanced techniques being applied is so valuable. Thank you.
Just found your channel. Appreciate all your work. There is nothing more valuable than a great teacher. My wife is a great teacher and I saw how she influenced students forever. Thank you.
literally going through all your videos now, i'll just share a second my "story" : Been drawing on and off for 10 years, mostly realistic by copying pictures or drawings. and was pretty ok at doing that, but my goal has always been drawing from imagination ancient mythical creatures, ( for fun, i have a job that i love ). i tried a bit the thumbnails video and trying to craete something like that, but my lack of knowledges in animal anatomy blocks me from doing realistic creatures. So from your "textures and animals videos " i am also drawing now a lots of different animals, and it is already teaching me a lot about their design ( bone, skin, hair etc.. ) and i am going forth and back to your videos when i feel i am not creating a realistic enough animal. helps so much. when done with that i will start thumbnailing again and create amaysing stuff ! thanks for your work !
Hi. Jim from Madrid, Spain (a fellow artist and a New Yorker expat living abroad). I was one whom asked you to draw an example of wet skin so thank you very much for this tutorial. The eel looks amazing! I see now that I was sometimes darkening too much the water droplets and the wet skin area. You approach it with a more subtle shading while emphasising the darkest shadow part and blending it more. It's helped me out a lot to improve, so thank you very much. I am currently drawing a hippo in the water with the head & parts of its back coming out and I will show the wetness a lot better. Cheers from Sunny Spain! 😁👍😎✌
Awesome video! I loved seeing how all those teeny tiny (seemingly random, but very intentionally placed) details eely added to the realism of the drawing! (Ugh, lol...)
This was excellent and a great lesson. I had doubts you were going to get a wet look on the shaded eel, but damn...if it didn't look like drips. I have homework 🙂 I was told once to hold my brush, pencil and pens in all sorts of ways to get loose. I ended up with a 5 year old grip I love. It is similar to how to hold a sumi brush, so yeah. Your grip is cool and such amazing result. But really, the commenter watched your video and the grip was what they took away? I for one am grateful you're sharing your knowledge and talent, thank you.
Hey Bobby, Love the way you are teaching and so many must be learning and improving rapidly. One small request, could you please see if the audio can be a bit more louder. Even on full volume it sounds a bit low compared to other videos. Cheers!! Once again, Thank you for explaining so lucidly!!
As for how you hold your pencil, i was actually finally relieved to see an artist holding a pencil like a grown up on youtube, i am biased of course as i also hold it this way, good tutorial
Great explanation. Could you also make a video explaining how to draw and shade the interior of the mouth. I love the way you did it in the drawing of this video
Love your work! It's sweet to see that graphite still has place in the world. Rendering at this level makes it even sweeter. Btw, try sticking a black sheet of paper behind the page to reduce the distraction of the image on the other side of the page.
i would like to see a video of drawing human hair, of all its textures, if you're asking what we prefer to see, i saw a few, from other artists, but i like to see one with your awesome explanation.. thank you in advance..
Your tutorials about pencil drawing are like stumbling about a hidden gem! Thank you so much for them! What do you think about Faber-Castell's Pitt Graphite Matt pencils? Have you tried them out yet?
Your artwork's quality is so refined that it's difficult to match. Even a single detail that takes you one short attempt takes me at least 5 to perfect. I would greatly appreciate a tutorial with a less intricate example, or maybe a focus on a single detail.
Great job! You do a very good job with your explanations. Trolls will be trolls with anything, holding a pencil, etc. I look forward to many more to come. ÷ bigfoot, ÷ mash ups.
This guy needs more recognition his tutorials are soo helpful

Glad it was helpful! I'm trying to form these videos as if I'm physically there helping students.
Fabulous lesson. Such a talent you have. Thank you.
Thank you kindly!
These tutorials are so good and the way you explain things makes it really easy to draw along.
Glad you like them!
I just LOVE how you get right into the lesson, I love your comments and explanations. That's pure gold, I hope more people find out about you!
Thank you! I'm just gonna keep posting and posting.
I'm loving this channel with passion. Thank you!
Glad you enjoy it!
I have been waiting for a channel like yours my whole life! Thank you for sharing and helping the rest of us understand how to draw!
You are so welcome!

Whooo another great video! Your on a roll🔥
More to come!
Thanks for making these great videos! The techniques have helped me in my own animal drawings. You deserve a lot more recognition!
Thank you so much for those kind words.
Finally found someone who draws animals and creature keep up the cool videos man

That's the plan!
Another great drawing lesson. Your tutorials are so helpful thank you. Blessed
Thank you! Cheers!
AMAZING! Love these last batch of videos you've been making, you've been great help. Thank you!
Glad you like them!
I love you videos, keep at it! They've been so useful for learning how to draw animals, and for that I thank you for the free knowledge🙏
Awesome and thank you.
My friend holds his pencil between his index and middle finger with the thumb on the bottom, it works surprisingly well

😁👍😎✌
That's quite possibly the greatest compliment I've ever received.😄
Very nice. Beautiful!
Thank you! Cheers!
Been waiting for a new video all week. Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. Looking forward to more vids :)
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving, too! My plan going forward is to get back to my usual two videos per week schedule.
Awesome video! I loved seeing how all those teeny tiny (seemingly random, but very intentionally placed) details eely added to the realism of the drawing! (Ugh, lol...)
Thanks! Those little markings are also useful in forming ground textures, leaves, creature skin etc.
This is incredibly helpful! thank you for another great lesson!
You're very welcome!

I was trying to find an older sketch that was of a marine animal and then I found my trusty eel lol. I forgot about it😄
thanks teacher :3 i am learning your shading technique and i love it
I'm glad you like it

Thanks man. That particular video is when I was recording on my phone. I have since bought an actual camera with much better audio.

Thank you! We all hold it in different ways but that troll comment had me laughing 😄
@@bobbyrebholz2183 probably envious of the natural manicured looking nails 😆

Great suggestion!
It was good 👍
Amazing video, these have been so helpful.
Would you consider doing a full drawing start to finish to show your process?
I have a video already showing that but it's just to music. I will be doing some with live instruction, very soon
@@bobbyrebholz2183 amazing thank you for the reply :)

Noted!

I haven't but I'm really intrigued now. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@bobbyrebholz2183You're welcome! :) They are not perfectly matte, but considerately less shiny than normal graphite pencils.

Thank uuuuu 😮
Can I ask, have you used a reference image for this drawing?
Yes I did
Que realismo:3
