    I hate it when I turn the key on, press the starter button, and the engine fires right up. I like to feel like I have to work for it. And dont even get me started on the fact there's no chain to lube.....ugh.

    I've been mostly a Japanese bike owner these past years. Your points are well taken, and as someone else mentioned, for beefs, none of these things are deal-breakers. I am absolutely loving this bike. Yes, the engine 'could' be a bit stronger, but I'm not a wheelie guy or looking to have my tail swing out on some gravel or wooded path. There's plenty of other bikes capable of doing those things if that's your thing. I've got fuel, (plenty of it) and a lot of riding in front of me, and I cruise 75 mph and that engine thumps better, and better the hotter, and longer it goes. It's true: the bike has great character! I'm a Guzzi convert, and hopefully, they can keep up the great workmanship.

    Man the heated grip work the correct way. When you turn on anything electrical it starts from the lowest setting up to the highest and that's done for many good reasons including not instantly heating cold components...etc And the engine lacks maybe around 10-15bhp, not 40bhp. 120bhp is multistrada territory. Maybe the only annoying thing could be the tubed wheels and lack of sturdier front forks.

    In my opinion who talks about more hp or off road capabilities on this bike miss the idea of what this bike is.
    My feet are size 47 and never noticed what you consider annoying.
    in my opinion It's a good looking, easy to ride, driveshaft, solid, multiporpouse bike with a good price and low cost of ownership. This is what I think as a owner.

    This bike is clearly and absolutely a poor match for someone of your inclination.
    Great point about the foot positioning. These are the things you don't pick up on a short test ride.

      Old Phart V85TT Life is actually great, one of the best bikes I’ve ridden actually. The engine is also my number one thing that makes this bike great. More HP or not is more about riding style and what I’m used to. On my race bike I have 192 HP on the back wheel and my MT-10 give 152 HP on the back wheel.

  • @boo-boo511
    @boo-boo511 4 роки тому +4

    All the heated grips I have used start low and go high. Not an issue.
    The engine is advertised as 80bhp. Granted it produces that without drama bit like an NT700 but no point complaining about it. Go buy a GS if you want 40bhp more.
    Can't comment on foot peg spacing but lack of heat shield on exhaust seems a bit cheap. As does lack of tubeless option.

      Thanks for viewing our videos! It have never overheated. When we did the wilderness enduro trip (video is on our channel) the weather was hot and we had parts with very low speeds. The engine got very hot and on low revs it started knocking (very hard knocking). But apart from that engine heat was no problem. Personally I think that the Guzzi is more bike than the gs 800. I’m not a fan of that BMW engine. The guzzi engine is a gem in comparison, smooth all over the rev range. I would go on a test ride on the guzzi bur I would also try the Gs 850. I like the Gs 850 a lot and it would be harder for me to choose between that and the guzzi, but I would probably get the guzzi anyway. It something special about the Italian and the build quality is excellent. I sometimes just sit and admire the bike when I take a break on longer journeys.

    A don't give a shit about the heated grips (although I live in a very cold country). It's not a problem. The engine in the other hand... It needs to be around 115 hp to cope with the shaft drive. 80 hp with shaft is somewhat lacking in power. It's really a shame. If this bike had more power it would have a much better market position.
