Could listen to an hour of Troy rambling vaguely about the album
Fixed - Could listen to an hour of Troy rambling vaguely about *anything*.
Mouth hole!
Or, anything!
He needs to be convinced to do a podcast called “Milkshake or Beer” where he just talks shite for an hour. I’d patron that for sure.
"It's okay to make mistakes"
Can’t believe no ‘ Sleeping Giant’. That song is a musical masterpiece!
Agree
It's a great song but I think this list is more about which songs MEAN the most to the Mastodon guys, which is kind of a different question than "which song do you think is the sickest song"
I love how Mastodon's music is so diverse and unique that the reason why someone listens to them can differ so much from person to person. Or even change over time. I initially got into Mastodon because of their more thrashy and heavy songs. But now I'm more of a sucker for those bluesy riffs Brent throws in. But overall, I love all their stuff!
Absolutely. Their songs have an unexpected feel to them. So unique and very beautiful at times. Superb band 🔥🔥🔥
Anyone else addicted to the song "The Beast" of the new album, it's such a unique song in their catalog, it channels some of what they were doing on the Cold Dark Place Ep, Brents voice is so unique, and the variety of guitars on this track whew !
And More than I can chew. Fn bangers 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love that song. I actually kinda wish it just stuck with that folk vibe in the start with Brent singing. He sounds brilliant
I honestly get some Pendulous Skin vibes from the first half of it. Not sure why, could be the Brent vocals and the chord progression.
Eyes of serpents is one of the most powerful mastodon performances they've ever done, feels like the watching something die. Gotta love the one flew over the cuckoos nest speech at the start of shadows that move as well!
Yes it is its becoming my favorite song ever
Eyes Of Serpents is definitely my favorite from the new album, and quickly became an all time favorite song for me, so beautiful and the lyrics just get me every time.
Looking forward to the "Making of" for H&G. Mastodon knows how to kick ass.
I have literally listened to Eyes of Serpents every day since this album came out...fantastic
from the new record I really love "More than I can chew" the riff, the vibe . the heaviness...the vocals..is like riding above an angry hippo
Over the time, The Hunter has become my favourite album as well. It has the best production imo and even though most of the songs on it have a simpler structure than on the other albums, they groove the hardest. I love the drum sound on that record, it's one of the best I've heard anywhere. Also Stargasm gives me goosebumps everytime, even after like 100 listens.
I've loved The Hunter from the moment I heard it, still do. I love every Mastodon album
@@wc1994 Me too, I love every one of them. And that has never happened for me with any other band.
The drum sound on Hunter is perfect!!
Hunter fucking rips, not a weak moment there
And the closing track to gently return you from the wild trip you've been to
Do they scream on every album?
Eyes of serpents, hell yeah yeah thats a instant classic for me, starting to become my favorite song
So badass
The lack of anything off of Once More ‘Round the Sun hurts my soul :(
I know. Such a good album.
Asleep in the deep is one of my faves of the album.
Diamond in the Witch House is fantastic. Scott Kelly totally crushes on that one.
@@jakehyrule7260 it’s my favorite from them!
@@trentschlick3261 so good dude
Eyes of Serpents one of my favorites off the new album too. Awesome riffs, and really emotional too
Brent forgot that shadows that move was actually off their early EPs 😜
Jaguar God is one of the greatest pieces of music ever written and will stand the test of time
Make them go through their whole discography :) i could watch them for hours, speaking about their songs
I agree with Brent. Remission and Leviathan are the best ones. Mother Puncher gets a lot of listens.
Mother Puncher gets a lot of plays live too…I have seen Mastodon several times now, and I think they have played it every time.
Troy is on another level with his humor, nice vid.
The fact they didn't mention Leviathan is criminal. Hearts Alive is a masterpiece
0:19
Yea I was sure Brent was gonna say Hearts Alive when he said Leviathan.
This guys and their music (art) are gold..!
Troy is just so fun to listen to. I'd say he should make a podcast but I've never listened to a podcast.
His voice is fn awesome 😂😂
He is funny AF
@@rubaidaallen2764Big time, especially live. IMHO he's not celebrated nearly enough in the metal and rock world.
I think Robb Flynn has as a killer voice and has a podcast.
Scott Kelly's part on Crack the Skye is amazing
that was wonderful.
These guys are awesome.
The new album makes me wanna move to the mountains and just run through a Forrest to the top. There's a lot of psychedelic sounds in this one and I love it. My fav mastodon song is still pendulous skin for that very reason
love Troy man!! been a Mastodon fan por more than 10 years! H&G epic album guys
Much love from Morocco 🇲🇦🇲🇦🇲🇦❤️❤️❤️❤️
It’s cool Bill picked Serpent. That vocal line is one of my favorite ever. All r great👊🏿🤘🏿👊🏿🤘🏿
Brent talks about his favorite song like a 8 year old doing it
Ha, I noticed that too since he repeats the question in his answer.
I just love Mastodon....
The thing that's mind-blowing about Mastodon is just how good they are all at writing individually, and it all comes together and meshes. If you've ever worked in a group, and tried to mesh ideas together with other people, you just know how difficult that can be. The fact they can put their ego's to one side and let it just happen, is what sets them apart. This is why their music will always be good no matter what they write, because each member has their own way of tackling a situation.
Brent likes crusher destroyer because there’s a tyrannosaurus Rex in it. lol.
About right lol
Thanks Deezer, more!
Definitely agree with Bill about Eyes of Serpents. Amazing song that they definitely need to play live!
Troy Sanders is one of the most fascinating musicians ever.
He is too intelligent to be true.
It's okay Troy, you can admit Black Tongue is your favorite song. Amazing song bass wise and they have played it every time I've seen them live. It's a clear favorite song for him.
yall I love these guys. hot damn
Nice to see Brent doing interviews
Savage Lands is my favourite off the new album too, so good to see it's Troy's favourite too. It certainly is a "mover and a shaker"
Leviathan is my favorite album
their best work
Troy is the most entertaining of the bunch, love that guy
Remission, Blood Mountain, Leviathan, Crack the Skye, Emporer..., Once more... and Hushed are all masterpieces. These guys cannot make a bad album.
First time seeing Brent actually doing a proper interview
Emperor of Sand? I love that album!
That's my favorite
Troys beard just gets more epic for every year 😍
Troy is not just a beast bass player but also a comedian. Could I possibly love them more?!
I remember watching a video when The Hunter was released and Brann was talking about what black tongue was about. Back then he said that the song was about a parrot being locked up in a cage.
Mastodon do the Thin Lizzy style of twin guitar break instead of a guitar solo a lot, and i love it .
I too want to put on a squirrel pelt. Rock on prehistoric dude
Troy channeling his inner Mr Cheezle LOL. I love this band
"Whoa, where do you get your weed from?"
@@duncanpearce9950 from Dante
I would have preferred a longer video.
Giraffe tounges are BLUE Troy! BLUE!
Eyes of serpent is probably my fave on the album
Hey alright I got Brent's Tshirt. Richey Beckett design, get it preordered
Troy is a damn fool 😂😂
“Very excellent rock n roll bridge”
Funny. I’m making a squirrel pelt as we speak.
They skipped my two favorite Mastodon albums: Leviathan and Blood Mountain!
Troy is the coolest 😂🤘
Bill chose the right song
They didn't mention Once More Round The Sun :((((
I’m with Brent, their earlier albums were their best. Not a fan of anything after Crack The Skye, but would still love to see them live again.
YAY BRENT PICKED REMISSION/LEVIATHAN!!
Remission: Burning Man / Leviathan: Aqua Dementia / Blood Mountain: The Wolf is Loose / Crack the Skye: The Czar / The Hunter : The Sparrow / OMRTS : Chimes at midnight / Emperor of Sand: Andromeda / Hushed and Grim: More than i could chew.
lol your favs?
The fact that I only agree with one of those is what makes Mastatdon so awesome. Because everyone loves all the different kinds of music they have
Troy is hilarious
Black tongue is one of the wraker mastodon tracks imo. Different stroke for different folks
How can that question be answered...favorite mastodon song? Its different daily.
Where blood and thunder
Crack the skye.
I remember Troy saying that Bedazzled Fingernails was his favourite off The Hunter... Huh...
He also said "_Today_ Black Tongue is my favorite"
Got the wrong size shirt from an order and ignored when I tried to exchange it. Fuck your merchandisers, I’ll listen to artists who aren’t involved with scamming me
No Leviathan? That's the best album! Bummer.

Eu uso Tim então tenho Deezer grátis :v
Lot of hair on Brann's ears
5 minutes?! Geez .
Why this anthropomorfic creature with horns in the insert?
Disgusting how they skipped over their two best records.
Remember when they bullied an indie edm artist to change his scene name?
Mastodon is a band that thinks the music they make is a joke - learn who you support
Personally, I'd rather listen to a band that doesn't take themselves too seriously to the point they treat it lightly or jokingly than a band that takes themselves so seriously that their music actually is a joke.
