This is the second time Peggy's storyline wasn't mentioned. The first is the Tuskegee trip and dinner with Booker T Washington. Now, with no mention of the meetings on strategies to take on the school board. I 👀 you Frick Pittsburgh......
I think Luke may have inherited from his wealthy mother who recently passed and Ada may now take care of Agnes.
I was thinking the same thing!
Fortune teller :)
I just love these podcast episodes 😍
Oscar got beat at his own game essentially. He was overt in his pursuit of Gladys for her money, as well as Maude. As for Luke, I had a client whose husband died 4 months after their wedding from a rapidly spreading cancer. This, unfortunately, still occurs. Another great podcast, thank you all and Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you for your insight. I love this show so much. I wish they would confirm Season 3.
I love your reviews/chat/speculation :)
Agnes' husband Arnold Van Rhijn died circa 10 years ago, in 1872. It was after he died that Ada moved to live with her.
oh did i miss where they spoke about any of the black characters?
My thoughts exactly.
I think Luke was wealthy & hid it. He said his Italian ancestor arrived in Boston following the fallout from the French Revolution. The main people who fled Europe due to the French Revolution were the aristocracy & the wealthy. He never mentions any siblings & he is well travelled (although part of that is attributed to his missionary work). I think is family was wealthy, but open-minded enough to allow him to pursue his calling. At least I hope so - Ada deserves some good fortune.
Fellowes has a lot of story threads to tie together in the finale episode - the plot points have moved too fast this season. Personal wish - more Kelli O'Hara (Aurora Fane) and Audra McDonald (Dorothy Scott).
Always appreciate your enthusiastic and informed commentary.
I think Luke will left Ada significant amount of money. He was an only child. So I just think that she will end up saving the family. Adding the additional layer of complexity to ada and sister relationship.
Is anyone else suspicious of the French ladies made that volunteered to work on a trial basis for Bertha? I don't feel like that character would have been introduced the way she was, or at for that matter, if she wasn't going to play some part in the plot of the final episode. I think she either is going to be working secretly for Turner/Mrs Winterton, or have information on Turner that she gives to Bertha.
Yes the Moment Bertha says let me talk with my husband about it. I knew she wasn’t
She cared about Duke initially for status. But now she’ll use her daughter to get him back. Poor Gladys
Nothing mentioned about Peggy!?! Racism in schools!?! The Globe used to organize!?! Disappointed!!!
Great commentary!
