I actually disagree, for me with 10+ pieces I don’t feel like I need another watch that’s versatile as I already have specific pieces for different situations
I loved both of mine but those polished center links scratch just looking at them. It was maddening, to the point I never wore them and eventually sold them. They are a cruel mistress, achingly beautiful but ultimately disappointing. My Sinn 104 had the same issue so maybe I’m tough on bracelets but my explorers don’t get chewed up.
I'd say for those on a relatively budget side, get the Sinn 556i. That red adds just right amount of tastefully done color on a superbly well finished watch
Good choice! I'm wearing the 556A with the 5-link bracelet and I'm happy with it. Bought it in 2015, when the RS-versions with the red second hand were not yet available, I would prefer these today.
I love Sinn and own one and had the chance to get the 556i black new from an AD for 700 pounds or the limited edition mother of pearl for 850 however the hands are just too short for the dial. All 3 of them and I can’t unsee it. I would rather go for the Damasko DS30 / DK32. I think it’s great value
I’m glad that LONGINES Hydroconquest GMT was on the list because I bought one after watching your video. My first ever dive watch and GMT watch. Absolutely gorgeous and what a beast! 👌🏻
Omega Railmaster on fabric strap. I’ve worn it at functions, concerts & sports events (watching not competing) and it’s perfect. Not too chunky and fits under suit cuffs.

Ditto for me. There are not enough hours in the day, red traffic lights and boring meetings to enjoy staring at this understated and handsome 41mm beast.
To me a "one watch" watch is the Rolex Datejust, Omega Aqua Terra, Longines Conquest or the Tissot Gentleman. You can dress it up, dress it down, go swimming with it etc....as usual great video Chris 👍
I have the Tag Heuer 200 in a black dial. I love everything about it. Tag is the Brand that got me into this hobby. Vey nice list of watches. Cheers Hunter
I keep thinking of this one maybe in the solargraph is it a comfortable watch ? And also I'm a little concerned about the polished links for scratching 😮 great looking watch though
I’ve a few of these, the Rolex stands out. “Rolex are over hyped” so the crowd shout, usually by people who don’t own one, but the Submariner is an icon for a reason, it has spawned thousands of look alike divers watches and will remain a legend.
watch_datta here... Thanks for picking 2 of my watches haha! I would say GS shunbun works because its 100m water resistant, hella accurate, great build and movement can handle abuse and the dial is more silver than pink. It definitely works as a GADA. unconvetional but still works haha
I've owned a Garmin Marq Aviator gen 2 since its introduction and use it often for the travel and health features. Recently I was in urgent care. The doctor was able to look through the history on my watch and was very impressed. I was moved to ICU based on what was recorded by the Apps. I can't state strongly enough how useful a tool these wrist computers are. Even as a collector who owns more than twenty watches I've no problem telling people to purchase one of these.
You had me at Tudor Pelagos 39. Wearing my Hamilton Khaki Aviation Day Date Automatic today and also my Garmin Epix2 (while on my basement trainer). Thanks for the great content Harrison.
Choice of a one watch collection depends on the style and personality of the owner. Many watch enthusiasts don't subscribe to the concept. I own 5 watches I rotate for example. Chrono, 3 dive watches and Citizen solar atomic plastic watch when deliberately dressing down. I wouldn't for example wear a Rolex for a dentist appointment when the dentist sees dollar signs wanting to drill in my mouth. Even though I am not a dress watch kind of guy, as a one watch guy, the Aqua Terra 38mm is my favorite.
Before getting to the Longine Hydroconquest GMT, I was wondering if you would mention it and I was imagining myself writing a comment, where I’d suggest you to mention it in this category in future videos haha. Great choice man and great video. I agree completely with all your choices.
Harrison - because you I couldn’t get Omega out of my head the last couple of weeks. I am now significantly poorer as I wait for a delivery tomorrow morning 😂
Excellent list, but I do think a one watch collection is always better with a strap monster. But most of these were. I would have added the Omega SeaMaster 300 (none diver) and the Rolex Air-King… I think both can really go everywhere.
Longines Spirit Zulu 39mm in indestructible grade 5 titanium. With its featherlight weight and quick release band there’s innumerable aftermarket straps to swap for fun depending upon mood of the hour!
As a proud owner of a Garmin Fenix here, I’m happy to see Garmin on the list. The problem with it is that it’s so useful for metrics it provides that it’s hard to use any other watch even from time to time. I have a Tissot PRS516 as well that gets very little wrist time lately but is a joy to look at. I still plan to get a ’proper’ luxury watch one day even if I know I will continue to wear a Garmin most of the time.
That Omega terra is beeeeeeautiful. For me who doesn't like dress watches, that would be absolutely perfect when you need something else than diver look
I have watches from Rolex (Datejust Turn-O-Graph), Tudor (Black Bay Chrono Panda) and Tag Heuer (Carrera Chrono) but I am drawn to the "Certina DS Action Diver Powermatic 300m Titan C032.607.44.051.00" every day. An absolute all-rounder and can be worn with anything. The price-performance ratio is brilliant and it works wonderfully without a watch Collection
I'm gravitating towards the Seiko Alpinist Laureu, but they seem to be getting scarce he in Brazil. Aside from that, do you have a recommendation for GADA (one watch collection) with day and date complications? Best luck!
I have 9 pieces, they all can be do the GADA one watch collection of itself, but I prefer the king turtle 🐢 that has 200m water resistant makes it a toughest in the group.
Having a One-Watch Collection is a great idea. I have several of them, and I'm about to start another. The trick is to keep them all in separate drawers.
A fun thought experiment for sure. I doubt too many of us could do it though. One would quickly yield to a second, then a 3 watch collection, and so in. I've got a lot more than I should "invested" in my collection, so if it were to be liquidated and put into one watch to rule them all... a GMT function would be highly desired. Not too dressy as I would find that boring. Not too sporty either. GMT aside, the YM42 yellow gold or the Lange Zeitwerk (date version for practical purposes, striking time for the fun of it) might hold my attention. The full gold Sky Dweller in rose gold with chocolate dial could be a contender if I just couldn't live without the GMT complication. Maybe a Panerai GMT if I'm living somewhere the aforementioned watches would attract too much attention.
I have owned and sold an embarrassing number of watches, including quite a few from this video. Interestingly, my standouts for a one watch collection are IWCs. I think the Mark XX is perfect. If I own one watch, I want it to be a strap monster and ideally easy to swap straps. Mark XX fits this criteria, looks good on all 3 options, and the OEM rubber in particular is one of the best most comfortable rubber straps I've owned. Good size, 100m WR, sporty watch. This is the one I'd recommend to anyone. In terms of an "ultimate", I'd still go IWC, but this time the Ingenieur. Agree 100% that it's not overpriced, IYKYK. After this you start hitting massive diminishing returns on a steel sports watch. I have the Overseas which I love, but if the current Ingenieur had been available when I purchased my VC, I might have saved myself some $$$ and gotten the Ingy and called it a day. It's that good. Finally, a conspicuous absence from this list is the Cartier Santos. Looks good on steel and leather (and rubber for some models), easy change system for straps, and you can even size it with your fingernails.
@@daveLin104 I’m telling you I completely adore the watch and could never get rid unless to my son in the future but I’ll still borrow it😂. I really believe tag do get to much hate but I do see how people would ridicule them for cutting corners but it seems as though they have realised there errors and comeback with a absolute bang 💥
I actually just purchased the Seiko Shogurai. So far, I am liking it a lot as a daily wear watch. Although the black dial would be the most versatile, you still have to remember that this is, technically, a divers watch. I would not normally wear it for a dressy occasion, as I have other choices. But the reason I bought this one was because the one with the red/burgundy dial, and the stainless steel bracelet, looks simply amazing, especially in the sunlight. I think it is their most popular color for this model. If you only had this one watch, you could get by wearing it for dressy occasions, especially with the black dial and stainless steel bracelet. I have small wrists, and although this is a rather large watch, it wears much smaller than its true dimensions.
Excellent choices would be the Tudor Black Bay 36/39/41 watches, as someone mentioned elsewhere, and the Muhle-Glashutte Teutonia range. They look good ( especially the Blue Moon model), are tough and have good water resistance.
I would have also thought included the Yema Skin diver slim CMM.20 limited edition. Gorgeous watch, 10mm thick, 39mm, display back, 300m WR and a beautiful dial with the 3/6/9/12 in the lume markers and that smooth scales bracelet.
I get that all listed watches are “relatively cheap” in the wider world of horology but IMO you missed the single best one watch that does it all-Vacheron Overseas. 1. The steel watch case is beautifully artful in design and finish (has to be seen in person to appreciate) and very rugged (scratch resistant). And water resistant to 150 meters (more than the Rolex Sub). 2. The bracelet is gorgeous with polished and brushed surfaces, any link can be removed for perfect sizing, has micro adjustments, and supremely comfortable. 3. Dial is mesmerizing, especially the blue one, but also black very classy. The sweep of the extra long second hand is elegant. 4. The caseback reveals Geneva Seal movement (and case is GS as well). This is high horology. 5. It comes with 2 straps, leather and rubber, that you can change in seconds using nothing other than your fingernail. So one watch from very sporty to dressy in seconds, and everything in between. It literally does it all…the only watch you ever need.
I like to belive iam a one watch collector, even tho, i have my work watches. I used to be a Omega speedmaster guy, sold it, hated the hype and everything around it, did only wear G-shocks for almost 5 years, i bought them always second hand. I work as a head chef in a local Hotel, and I always wear a G-shock when iam in the kitchen, When I hirer a new Chefs & staff, I will always gift them their first G-shock, i got a 18 slot suitcase box in my office and they can choose what ever they want, Ive got one special one for myself, Ga2100 black and white, that i bought for myself when Ive ranked up to headchef. When I leave work, or have office days, i always wear my lovley.. wait for it... waaaait.. you wanna know ?.. waaaait, my Longines Conquest 39mm blue. My perfect watch for me and myself only. PS, haha! every year around Christmas, we always take a group photos, all the chefs, helpers and dishwashers are wearing the TOP G watch! ;)
I have my 2 tone Vaer solar diver that’s been my daily wearer for a while now. Looks like a million bucks and time is always right on point. Cost me $200 on sale 🤷♂️ (but I’d be lying if i said I wasn’t partial to a couple of the Longines out there)
All good choices Harrison (as always). I can't disagree with this list. After many years my collection has ebbed and flowed but for me the Explorer 1 124270 would be my second GADA, the prime would be my old Omega Globemaster pie pan dial ref 130.33.39.21.03.001 although I'm not sure it's still available anymore, I love this one. A pick from you list I would agree with the Pelagos 39, under the radar and not too flashy but a real cracking watch that can stretch its lugs an any scenario., it's the monochrome before the monochrome but smaller and lighter and possibly more at a glance readable but not METAS certified unlike my Globemaster that if I recall correctly was the first Omega watch to get that certification.
Great choice! GMT is a must, especially for a one watch collection. I just added a PAM 233 yesterday. It is not my one and done, not even my one and done Panerai, but I'm loving it either way! I have the PAM 200 which IS a contender for a one watch being the more versatile Radiomir case. Good luck on the PAM acquisition!
I do not regard diver's watches as very suitable for a one watch collection as they are not an ideal match for a suit. Therefore, I suggest for Tudor the Black Bay 36 / 39 as alternative to the Tudor's mentioned in this video and the Grand Seiko 62GS models as a good alternative to the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra.
anything > $10k should automatically disqualify from this category because you would not wear it to London or Barcelona for safety reasons. You would also think twice about jumping into a pool with it.
@@alwayspooh1588 what do you mean London is not that bad? Have you seen the recent crime statistics?? Perhaps it’s not that bad if you are a Muslim, but it’s pretty bad if you are a Christian.
I agree about Apple Watch. I wore it for years until I got annoyed and sold it. I don’t want another iPhone stuck to my wrist all the time. I went with classical watch now.
My one and done watch would be my current daily Seamaster 2254.50 (Peter Blake) perfect size and thickness not too bad can still fit under the cuffs also black dial can go with anything, date function and lume ticks the boxes ❤ and most importantly not ridiculous price under 3k on the grey market also wont get robbed 😂
I have the same watch and agree it is a very solid one and done watch. I love the thinner case compared to the following seamaster models. I wear it about 50% of the time, my other watch being a vintage Datejust 36 blue dial.
@hammalamiri12 the dial and bezel on the old 143 is so much nicer though. Wish you could get the new size and bracelet with the grey dial and brushed stainless bezel
Maaan I took a look at my bank account and I was like damn I have spent way too much than I like to admit, so yeah I’m going back to “few” loving watches collection and selling the other ones whom are only here for the looks
Fact is, most watches can be a 'one watch collection', but when you can't help yourself but buy another watch... it ain't a one watch collection anymore.
In my mind, there are only two "one watch collection watches." Number one (by far) is the Submariner. Number two is the Speedy Pro. No one else need apply.
I wouldn't wear any watch brand, or any classic except garmin. It's not a smartwatch like apple,samsung,huawei...it's a fitness tracker, health tracker. Because I'm very active and all garmin features are important to me ,wearing it day/night, so there is no space or opportunity to wear a classic one. And I like classic watches! Nothing against it, and i have respect for all enthusiasts, obviously since I'm watching watch reviews 😁
We all start off innocently as a 1 watch collection.. but... Need I say more where nearly all of us watch enthusiasts end up? Let's be honest, a watch enthusiast cannot be self-restrained to just 1 watch. Fun exercise in thought and wishful thinking, but, a 1 watch collection is highly unlikely... Good from the time you get it until you start looking online again.
Re the ingenieur at £10.5k you can literally get 2x the markxx, which has exactly the same movement….., never mind Baume & Merciers riviera , which allegedly has the same movement too, you can have 3 of those, how can you say the ingenieur is fairly priced? Totally disagree here, anyway that’s my rant over 😂
"One watch collection" is just an excuse to buy another watch.
Amen to that, as if we didn’t have enough excuses already 😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Works for me.
Just another one watch collection in the collection
I actually disagree, for me with 10+ pieces I don’t feel like I need another watch that’s versatile as I already have specific pieces for different situations
I would have placed the Longines Zulu time above the hydroconquest GMT
Agree 💯% ...especially the new one in grade 5 titanium 😍
The aqua terra just wins for me. The 150m water resistance in a watch I can go even diving with and after wearing a smoking on a opera is just insane
Fellow member of the aqua terra club and I absolutely agree. It is my GADA of choice.

Omega Railmaster on fabric strap.
I’ve worn it at functions, concerts & sports events (watching not competing) and it’s perfect.
Not too chunky and fits under suit cuffs.
Had one and loved it, found a super thick Perlon strap that looked great in any situation.
Stopped at local tag ad today and they had the Aquracer Pro 200 Solograph Ti. It is absolutely stunning in person. Well worth the extra $ for the Ti.
Ti is absolutely not expensive at all.
Just another aspect to fool customers.
But T/H is popping out bangers lately.

Rolex do a great job but so do a load of other brands. Part of the reason I love the industry is the variety!

PS, haha! every year around Christmas, we always take a group photos, all the chefs, helpers and dishwashers are wearing the TOP G watch! ;)
You missed the longines spirit 40 titanium nato strap. What else you need?
Ahhh that would have been a good one!
Timeless! 😂😂 I couldn’t think of the works too
I'm glad that my tissot gentlemen is on this list😊
My choice is the Grand Seiko SLGH013.
My next watch. (My last lol) is the Panari 1950 GMT 44mm.
Certina DS Action Diver 38. Could be the only watch you need.
40mm is perfection for me
anything > $10k should automatically disqualify from this category because you would not wear it to London or Barcelona for safety reasons. You would also think twice about jumping into a pool with it.
Yep, very valid points. London is not that bad, you just need to be aware of where you are and wear long sleeves.
@@alwayspooh1588 what do you mean London is not that bad? Have you seen the recent crime statistics?? Perhaps it’s not that bad if you are a Muslim, but it’s pretty bad if you are a Christian.
Tudor Pelagos 42 is my one and done! 25600TN.
I agree about Apple Watch. I wore it for years until I got annoyed and sold it. I don’t want another iPhone stuck to my wrist all the time. I went with classical watch now.
3:48 the word you are looking for is timeless!
r/woosh
My one and done watch would be my current daily Seamaster 2254.50 (Peter Blake) perfect size and thickness not too bad can still fit under the cuffs also black dial can go with anything, date function and lume ticks the boxes ❤ and most importantly not ridiculous price under 3k on the grey market also wont get robbed 😂
I have the same watch and agree it is a very solid one and done watch. I love the thinner case compared to the following seamaster models. I wear it about 50% of the time, my other watch being a vintage Datejust 36 blue dial.
I wear a amazfit balance for fitness. Tissot PRX quartz for dress.
One watch to rule them all - G Shock. Or F91W of course.
Great video as always. I think I'd have put a Breitling Chronomat GMT 40 in the list
Omega, amazing watch but look at Tag for hiw to frame/not the date window
If your going to choose a Seiko for the list
I would say it should be the spb453
I recently tried on the spb453, near identical to the previous models however it just feels so much better in almost every aspect
@ I just picked one up 2 days ago.
For me - best Seiko
@hammalamiri12 the dial and bezel on the old 143 is so much nicer though. Wish you could get the new size and bracelet with the grey dial and brushed stainless bezel
Its a nice theory, but in reality it just means instead of being a "watch" collector, you become a "watch collection" collector.
Tissot Seastar 1000 Powermatic80 40mm ?
Mine would be the original Rolex GMT BLNR 116710!
Oh no! You did not go there!?! A smartwatch in this list? I choked on my morning drink when I heard that. 😮
Maaan I took a look at my bank account and I was like damn I have spent way too much than I like to admit, so yeah I’m going back to “few” loving watches collection and selling the other ones whom are only here for the looks
My perfect set of 3 pieces it’s IWC Ingenieur, Ulysse Nardin Diver on rubber strap, GS SBGP005)
I could have the same 3 tbf but I would switch the diver to the sea q 39.5. Unfortunately GS is discontinuing all their 40mm 9f quartz watches
Bro is talking about watches and "cant remember the word" when the word is literally TIMELESS LOL
3:44 timeless is the word you’re looking for
The only solution to the 1 watch concept is to get them all. I’m attracted to a one watch collection because I’m poor.
Fact is, most watches can be a 'one watch collection', but when you can't help yourself but buy another watch... it ain't a one watch collection anymore.
What wach u have in ur look
What about the white dial speedmaster?
Omega ❤😍
Just like a one necktie collection!
I love longines!
In my mind, there are only two "one watch collection watches." Number one (by far) is the Submariner. Number two is the Speedy Pro. No one else need apply.
3:42 i think your word would be "Timeless" :)
My one watch collection is the blancpain fifty fathoms 5010
We all start off innocently as a 1 watch collection.. but... Need I say more where nearly all of us watch enthusiasts end up?
Let's be honest, a watch enthusiast cannot be self-restrained to just 1 watch. Fun exercise in thought and wishful thinking, but, a 1 watch collection is highly unlikely... Good from the time you get it until you start looking online again.
Listen boys, just because James Bond wore a dive watch with his dinner jacker doesn't mean you should do it, too.
Re the ingenieur at £10.5k you can literally get 2x the markxx, which has exactly the same movement….., never mind Baume & Merciers riviera , which allegedly has the same movement too, you can have 3 of those, how can you say the ingenieur is fairly priced?
Totally disagree here, anyway that’s my rant over 😂
The word you were searching for is, ironically, “timeless”. 😉
