There are better Bass players but Deaky is definitely one of the best, in my opinion he should've been a little less shy. I think he had even more skill in his hands than we think. But yea he isn't at a level as Cliff Burton. But not even Cliff Burton had done such amazing and memorable Bass Lines as Deaky. Well I mean they are both great Bass players in their own right.
And don’t forget John was only 23 at the time.....wasn’t shy but reserved....and believe it or not, so was Freddie......who always looked out for Deaky...the dancing queen is an absolute legend...Hi John, we hope you’re keeping well🌺
I love how this song shows all the band doing solos...especially John's bass solo. This is also one of the rare times John Deacon sings, with Freddies nudging..lol

LIAR LIAR - Yes more Queen Boyz! Freddie asked Deacy to sing with him on the bridge of the song!! Awesome!! Kudos to Roger’s drumming - Deacy’s bass slappin’, Brian’s Red Special, & of course, Freddie’s vocals! Okay Boyz Freddie can pull off the black outfit cuz he’s amazingly gorgeous! Mmmmmm- both men & women would agree! 😁🤘👑
John looks so good with all that hair and he is really rocking that bass!! This definitely showcases each member of the band and has such a great cadence that adds to the excitement of the song. The change ups are fun and creatively as well as unmistakenly Queen.
Glad I’m not alone and ADORING the guys when they had long hair! John in his shyness was especially precious.
And notice the black glove on his left hand and the chainmail on the right - long before Michael Jackson wore on the single glove.

Awesome reaction! Another song to check out is Ogre Battle live at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975 ua-cam.com/video/551gRH3dGEE/v-deo.html. This song is actually quite dark, it begins with him confessing to a priest, he wants to be accepted by society. He confesses all of his sins to the church and he is rejected. Next he tells his family that he will do anything from, he will be like a slave. But ultimately he is rejected by his family as well. This song has a lot of rejection and judgement. In the end he realizes, "they bring you down before you being", and "you could be dead before they let you in". He realizes he will likely never be accepted. My guess is if Freddie wrote a song about being gay then this one is it.

Liar was thier first release in the USA but they distanced themselves from it because they said the song is too long for a single at that time but the record company went ahead with it and they did a hatchet job on it, cut to pieces so the song bombed. I have the single and its release quality in sound is also bad. It is a great song so shame it got butchered.

Thanks Guy's i love the early Queen live stuff, now have a listen to the re-mastered studio version of liar, it is a complex masterpiece, did u do anything from Queen II yet like Fairy fellars master stroke and nevermore just classic songs
