@Skenjin it's a western game dev vs eastern game dev thing. Games made by western devs are 3x the size they need to be and never have demos, but games made by eastern game devs usually have more polish, aren't bloated in size and have solid demos, and sometimes even have your progress in the demo carry over to the full game (Final Fantasy 16)

So I tried Palworld Heard it was controversial with all the similarities with pokemon and such... But gameplay wise I heard it was pretty fun. So I got it from gamepass (6 gb, super light). Wanted to try it out for maybe an hour just to see what all the fuzz was about and it ended up being a 6 hour session, and Im gonna keep playing it. The game is SO fun, though there are some bugs and janky mechanics (multiplayer is broken for me as of jan 22, but single player works ok) due to the early access, it is very fun. Hopefully this ends up scaring nintendo into making better games and not just a cease and desist Edit: multiplayer is broken for me* idk about others. Will try again later when my friends are online
I'm enjoying it while I can, because I can't imagine Nintendo is going to let it continue on making tons of money while having such blatant Pokemon ripoffs included. Hopefully they'll just have to remove and change some of the more obvious things, and not have to take down Palworld completely.
@@sfreemanoh Nintendo has already tried to file for lawsuit 3 times and has failed everytime. I doubt anything will happen. At least that's what I'm hoping for
@@sfreemanohYeah I can't see this lasting long at all. What's dumb is that all they would have needed to do was be a bit more creative. Directly ripping off another property isn't ok no matter what, so once Nintendo is done with them, there will likely not be much left.
Palworld is one of those games that you think it is a joke but after playing it for a few hours it somewhat has an addictive factor. For now it's blowing up & I hope the developers continue to improve it cause this has potential to be a great game.

The Alters and Pacific Drive looks super cool. I think your definition of "Ambitious" is different than mine. None of these games really push the technology. They just have weird art styles but otherwise pretty much the same gameplay we have seen for the past decade.
Palworld is really fun, at the moment it's mostly a survival game (with really good mechanics with the Pals), but it lacks a storyline. But its also early access. If the full version has a storyline it'll be absolutely amazing.
Welp. Palworld blew up as a surprise early hit. Like, huge. Shame about the business with ripping off Pokemon models (supposedly there are too many near matches and outright duplicates for it to be a coincidence. My guess is one or more of their newer hires used unscrupulous methods to get their work done quicker, but who knows how much pressure or awareness there was). Palworld _probably_ won't be killed by it, but it will definitely be hurt pretty bad by it.
If the devs put as much effort into the gameplay as they did for the graphics of The Alters, it might be a top 10 game of the year. It looks phenomenal!
