When times are tough and money is tight, be relentless. Bad times don't last forever, but you must have the strength to push through.

Transitioning out of the Marine Corps whether you do four years or twenty. How can you still be effective in life if your plan does not work out. Thank You SSgt

Thank you SSGT Nichols. I was cut from a different knife as a kid growing up and a lot like you that I can relate to. I'm a construction superintendent now and chewed some dirt to get here. My project manger always tell me to stop giving the thousand yard stare when I walk by the boss. I've been reprimanded for acting in a Marine way when this kid shows up late to work with a coffee cup in his hand. My boss told me we can not speak or act in a way that will hurt their feelings. I about lost my mind! and said, When I was an apprentice, we use to eat shit and when I was in the Marine Corp, we ate a whole lot of shit just so you could sleep at night! But my point is, the young generation of today are not the same as yesterdays gen. I have to find my self to meet in the middle from 0 to 60. Your videos are a way I can understand and put it into perspective for my self cause, NO ONE would understand the way it should be, the way it was, and the way it needs to be. EEEERRRR Staff Sargent

Man I got out of boot camp 3 months ago and I miss my drill instructors. They where brutally honest but they helped change my life 100 percent around and miss their knowledge. My senior drill instructor helped me more than my own father. And you staff sargent, you remind me of them. Keep on being yourself and I'll show your videos to everyone I know. Semper Fi!

You know what struck me about this video... Last Thursday I lost my temper at work. There was a situation in which I created all the documentations and developed a system to follow due to an event that happened. I emailed it to the necessary people, I verbally informed said people, and the next morning when I got to work... Nothing was done. I let my temper get me. Of course my boss wasn't happy with me and I had a few words for him also... It took me about 30 minutes to just walk away, I knew I was wrong. My reaction was 120% wrong and unprofessional. I owned up to it accepting any consequences. I was forgiven and in a much calmer manner, I explained myself. It was at that point, I was able to bring attention to the issue. Since then, work has been much better. I'll own it, good or bad.

My parents wouldn't allow me to work a job. Not even during the summer. I struggled so much when I was left out on my own when I was 19. I was so incredibly 100% not prepared for the real world. Now that I'm 45 (2023) and my daughter Alicia is 18, we're finally starting to get our lives in order, financially, ect.
