They are evolving into larger machines to house larger drive line components. Engines keep getting bigger and more HP but the drive systems have remained relatively the same. That’s why these 1000 owners are always snapping axles ect. You are witnessing the evolution into larger ATVs to house larger drive components. That’s why japan won’t throw a 1000 in their quads because they know it will destroy their reliability reputation. The only option is to build a larger sized ATV to handle the power. Of course they give all these “ performance” reasons but the truth is the standard size 1000 stays tore up all the time. They are testing the market for accepting larger ATVs

All of us don’t ride those side by sides & don’t tell me I can’t afford it & stop bitchn either because I’ve got a brand new Outlander xxc 1,000 that I dropped some major coin on instead of buying a side by side because I grew up with quads & love them despite owning side by sides as well over the years. This occurred on my 2015 model in 2016 and on BOTH 2019 XP 850s that a married couple own nearby. And dealers have acknowledged it is a common problem 3) Loose (spongy) power steering - no match for what is on the Can Am. This becomes apparent at speed. But even in park with the engine off, you can wobble the handle bars a couple degrees side-to-side with zero motion at the wheels. This leads to vague handling at speed. 4) Terrible shifter (compounded by clutch and pre programmed idle speed) Sorry, but barring them addressing these issues, my next big bore ATV will NOT be a Polaris. The games Polaris plays with honoring warranty issues (especially the fuel pump) and the absolutely abysmal shifter operation have been WAY too persistent as to be downright grating.

Test rider Chad Westcott and his crew have pointed out that our Scrambler s loaner unit is beginning to have more play in the steering just like their personal Sportsman 1000. Seems like all power steering machines have a little play in the steering but it doesn't necessarily get worse over a few hundred miles. Thanks for sharing your input we do appreciate it.
@@ATVonDemand My XP850 was a 2009 vintage, back when it was also offered without power steering. Even on the showroom floor, before I bought the XP 850 (with power steering), I could feel much more play in their units with power steering than those without. One of the ways used to detect and react to torque is to measure angular displacement (torsional strain). Cam Am used to advertise that they used a different sensing means (possibly piezo-resistive). The end result can be felt in the handle bars. All of the XPs I've driven (6 of them) have had more play even when new than my 2011 Can Am XXC 800 with 6000 miles on it. P.S. I still own a 2005 Sportsman 800
This is cool, I dont know what people are complaining about. I can make it fit on tight trails plus it's got tons of travel to jump and take rough terrain at high speeds. Less likely to roll, more stable with a wider stance. The only place it would have a hard time is on some east coast trails where the forest gets pretty overgrown. I think this quad is awesome!
Question; the stock engine oil is 5w-50 but the Maxima V-twin full synthetic version is 20w-50, I would like to know if I should upgrade to the Maxima oil right off the show floor, a couple things to note, I live in Alaska so the temperatures get bitter cold towards November, December, and early January at around 30-40 and sometimes below on bad days, with that said, which one would you recommend overall? At this point people here are just trash talking about Polaris I just got a polaris 110 sportsman on my birthday like a week ago I'm 12 and if people say like yuck it sucks that's because they haven't even heard about it or probably just didn't ride it I mean it does suck that the price is high but it's very good
My Yamaha has separate front and rear brake levers, however the right is the front, the opposite of my mountain bike. So that makes things a little wonky when I grab the right (mountain rear/ATV front) brake and the nose dives.
ATVs are more like riding a horse and it needs your body influence for perfection. SxSs are a little boring, pricey, and only exercise your feet and eyeballs. Hence, you need a 4wheel lightweigt dune runner, a heavier 4wd ATV, then finally, a SxS for the family, before you retire to a motorized wheelchair.
Terry Edmond lol good ideaology. I’m in my 30’s now but I’ve had the light weight race dune atv. I have a sportsman 850 now. And I’m looking at getting into sxs in the next year or two haha
From my understanding there was lots of play in the steering on sportsman's Polaris some people have issues some people don't there are lots of videos on UA-cam in reference to this issue. I wonder what has been improved hopefully this was something that was re engineered with everything else looks like a great machine.
It's a really nice atv but these things are getting more expensive than some cars and u cant drive them on the road no way I would ever pay that price for something that's not street legal.
beautiful machine and i would love to buy it but the only reason i cant have it is because at 55 inches width, it wouldnt fit in either one of my sheds which are 48 inches wide. only why id be able buy this is id have to ride up to my moms house and keep it in her barn
google translated sorry Too bad the Polaris stops with the innovations, not really a further development! The exhaust? Does it rust as fast and as loud as the 2017 model??? The shift lever still isn't changed, although everyone is bitching about this heavy shift (scrambler included)! At least they've reworked the steering I hope it's much better! Original in Deutsch!
Omg they put a steering wheel and four wheels on a kitchen sink..That shit aint got nothing on my TGB BLADE 600CC 80 km per hour engine....polaris is stil playing with small toys eh........
You said that the Sportsman plows more on braking and cornering than the Scrambler and attribute it in part to the wider rear tires. I have a different theory, based on my Sportsman XP 1000 - the winch and its mounting bracket. That is over 20 pounds for a 2500 pound capacity winch. This Sportsman has a 3500 pound rating, likely weighs more. I have an ATV jack that can be placed under the skidplate to lift the quad's 4 wheels off the ground. It reveals that the center of gravity for the Sportsman is further forward than it is on my Can Am 800. That too would tend to cause plowing. I suspect that's why the 1000 S places all its added wheelbase (4 inches) in front of the engine
I don’t know why POLARIS have such as dumb ideas for making the atv so wide, more stiff suspension on higher speed will be much better like the Can-Am did, Plus the ATV won’t fit on the pick up truck, here is extra expense rent or buy a trailer, they are way too heavy, and now because they’re wider they are less maneuverable, instead they should add heavy duty skid plates and some GPS navigation build in, A lot of my friends They switching from Piolaris to Can-Am outlander, they always complain that Polaris let them down in the middle of riding. Nice job AtvonDemand nice job.
Can't buy one right now because I got a stand Sportsman XP 1000 and too much other stuff to pay for right now and I'm sure they be quit selling them by the time I get ready to buy one. LOL But till then I do everything I can to my Sportsman XP 1000 I can think of and it's already 53inches wide and just saying I have tested the 2020 Scrambler S it doesn't seem that wide and if I get a Sportsman S by the time I put bigger tires on it maybe about 58inches or so .
Can this Sportsman XP 1000 do long rides along with Royal Enfield? All of my friends are into Royal Enfields and I want to long ride with them on an XP 1000. Is it good for the ATV?
Hey polaris how you going to make two $15,000 dollar machines and put the shitty halogen lights on them? I have the 2020 sportsman 850 premium trail package and it comes stock with the LEDs. Come on polaris get your shit together.🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Eaen Joiner I hear ya. I always rode sport quads. Bought a 400ex new in 2001 and rode it almost 15 years. Back then a good sport rider could shoot up steep hills that the 4wd guys couldn’t do. We could build lots of steam really quick and slingshot ourselves up a hill. Of course now the big 4x4s have the power to do that so the sport quads died out. My favorite part is having a manual clutch and 5 speed. I’d love to have a scrambler or renegade 1000 with a manual clutch and foot shifter. Won’t ever happen but you can dream 😢. Who knows though..maybe Honda will roll out a v twin sport 4x4 with a manual clutch and surprise us
way rather have a raptor there so much lighter and when done up sic love Yamaha i miss my 250 and 450 bike faster and lighter then this beast powerfull just to heavy i think
I miss the Polaris Outlaw. I had one growing up and wish I could buy one new from the factory in 2021. It's sad they have stopped production of a great fun atv.
Dirt ObseXXion I like what Polaris is doing, but I’ll be sticking to my Outlander 850 XT. Best bike I’ve had since my Brute Force. Competition is always a good thing, plus ATVs haven’t gotten the love they deserve as of late. I tried several side by sides and ended back on an ATV.
@@stephensmith745 That Outty is a great machine for sure! Especially for someone coming from a Brute.. I've always said The Grizzly is to the Sportsman what the Brute is to the Outlander.. Just on overall feel of the machine
Dirt ObseXXion I’ve watched your review videos, very thorough. Mine sits in the garage way more than it should, can’t wait for fall when everyone starts riding again. I live for this stuff. If people would start riding in the woods, every therapist in the country would be out of a job.
@@DirtObseXXion I love your channel and value your opinion! Would this bike do good with say 28 inch Zillas or light mud tire? I’m currently on a 19 Grizzly with 27 in Zillas but thinking about upgrading
You want this thing to cost twenty Grand. We think we could reduce a lot of the body roll with some suspension adjustment. The Scrambler does not exhibit nearly as much body roll.
In europe it dont have the walker evans shooks and no front bumper still it cost 3000$ more than in the states..i asked polaris tech support why and if the specs still the same but havent got an answer...they put some made in china/polaris own shooks on it to make even more money is my guess...got a rzr 1000 turbo today that i bought without seeing it..what if that had came without the 3" fox bypass shooks when i got it😲
So I bought a Car for less than this. And I mean a new car, 2015. Also it's too wide for any single-track trails, the fun stuff with a 50-inch limit. Also also the only people who could afford one of these are retired white men who would be too old/fat/injured to ever ride one of these over 10%. Cool video though.
I’m 26 and just bought one. I also bought a brand new 570 premium a few months ago. This 1000 s can be run so hard into corners and on trails. Wouldn’t go back to a 48”.
I am 56 years old and own a 2018 850sp with a few mods (28's, clutch, exhaust and tuner). I will always prefer atv's to utv's. Offroad I want to ride not drive. I hope they never stop making ATV's.
They aren't talking but our first bet would be a High Lifter mud edition. We might see an 850 in one of these. We believe they should put the 570 in the smaller Scrambler platform at a lower price.
@@ATVonDemand they need to do like the old days of cars that you could order what you want, this body style, this Engine, this transmission and different differential lock and gear ratio. Don't like can am but they use the same frame platform in all their ATV'S so doing different engines in a long or short wheelbase in the style you like is not a problem .
@@ATVonDemand I saw it at the dealer a couple of days ago, it's wicked to be sure, but it would have a heck of a time passing through some of the tighter trails we ride on in Quebec. I was really struck by the width of it. But in certain conditions the extra power combined with the superior stability would sure be a real bonus.
Nice ! Something new cool . Like the thought of a wider wheelbase . I like it on the Outty Max ! With 48” - But 55” wide . Wow . It turns my head . I don’t know about you but I feel sand in my teeth .
Would like to have this with a small engine and a bit less weight. Love the idea of long travel and moderate speeds but the weight is too much. Honestly, 570 would be enough power with about 200-250 pounds less. Polaris has always been heavy.
55” is cool and all, but will not fit on the back of a pickup truck.... Almost everyone has trailers now, but it is nice to put my quad in the bed of my truck sometimes.....

Absolutely. The 47.6 in wide Sportsman 1000 is back for 2020 as well.
You just roll over the trees now.
About 10 of them
I wasn’t aware that trees only grew in spaces of 50 inches.
I don’t get why in a Sport/utility ATV they don’t have separate rear and front brakes on the bars.
Polaris' all-wheel-drive system does not allow for the use of separate front and rear brakes from what their engineers have told us.
@Gibbon well my yamaha grizzly has a lever for front and one for rear wheels
@Gibbon let say you back out of truck or down a steep hill you dont want the rear wheel to lock and have the quad flip on to you. It is a lot safer !
My Yamaha has separate front and rear brake levers, however the right is the front, the opposite of my mountain bike. So that makes things a little wonky when I grab the right (mountain rear/ATV front) brake and the nose dives.
JavaMan swop your brake lines on your MT bike then.
Who is the lady to the left? I would love to ride in the b***h seat as long as she can can stand a 1000 strokes!!
It's a really nice atv but these things are getting more expensive than some cars and u cant drive them on the road no way I would ever pay that price for something that's not street legal.
I can legally drive them on the side of the roads where I'm from
beautiful machine and i would love to buy it but the only reason i cant have it is because at 55 inches width, it wouldnt fit in either one of my sheds which are 48 inches wide. only why id be able buy this is id have to ride up to my moms house and keep it in her barn
They still make the 47.6 in Wide Sportsman 1000.
google translated sorry
Too bad the Polaris stops with the innovations, not really a further development!
The exhaust? Does it rust as fast and as loud as the 2017 model???
The shift lever still isn't changed, although everyone is bitching about this heavy shift (scrambler included)!
At least they've reworked the steering I hope it's much better!
Original in Deutsch!
Good race and fun to drive love the looks better off-road
I suspect that's why the 1000 S places all its added wheelbase (4 inches) in front of the engine
i got a 850. i love it
I don’t know why POLARIS have such as dumb ideas for making the atv so wide, more stiff suspension on higher speed will be much better like the Can-Am did, Plus the ATV won’t fit on the pick up truck, here is extra expense rent or buy a trailer, they are way too heavy, and now because they’re wider they are less maneuverable, instead they should add heavy duty skid plates and some GPS navigation build in, A lot of my friends They switching from Piolaris to Can-Am outlander, they always complain that Polaris let them down in the middle of riding.
Can you tell me how to unlock mine, it only gives 53 😞
55 inches will leave you out of most ATV trails which have entrances of 50 inches so this one won't be able to make it.
Too much weight, and reliability isn’t there
Joshua Long really ? Where is the reliability issues on the 850 and 1000s
Perhaps a little aggressive but we're on board with LEDs. We think you're right. This is a premium machine it should have them.
Rolling on top of u. Is all u worrie about? Drive with freinds. Honda is my most favorites. Talon. Yamaha. Only ones making four wheellets 210hp
What’s the song at the start of the video?
Nels sounds like he is on a mission from gawd....
Really glad i bought a 19 raptor 700r, its starting to seem like one of the last true sport atv's... Kinda sad tbh
Who knows though..maybe Honda will roll out a v twin sport 4x4 with a manual clutch and surprise us
JohnnyRebKy and a solid rear end no arms 🤘🏼
way rather have a raptor there so much lighter and when done up sic love Yamaha i miss my 250 and 450 bike faster and lighter then this beast powerfull just to heavy i think
In my area, somebody on OfferUp is selling a pretty much brand new Polaris Outlaw 450. Every little part of my soul wants it, but I can't afford it.
They want CAN AM OUTLANDER BRO. 48-50. Not to much 3 inch.
yadiyaditadazzzzzzzzzzzzzzz click off
I miss the Polaris Outlaw. I had one growing up and wish I could buy one new from the factory in 2021. It's sad they have stopped production of a great fun atv.
Like it or not, Can-Am is chasing something.....always chasing....... :-(
More power is always better
Like another comment said, just get an ace at this point. 1000 pounds on your god damn neck is not pleasant
Awwwwww yeeeeaaaaahhhh! Screw the budget conscious options!
@@stephensmith745 Lol! Very true!!! We all played hooky from work yesterday for some "therapy"! Hahaha!
@@DirtObseXXion I love your channel and value your opinion! Would this bike do good with say 28 inch Zillas or light mud tire? I’ve heard this bike doesn’t do the best with water over the wheels and I have sometimes have to get into that stuff on rides. I’m currently on a 19 Grizzly with 27 in Zillas but thinking about upgrading
Nice machine.how I wish ...I could ride thise machine...
It looks like it leans so hard, this ATV would benefit from the dynamic system to help with stability in a big way
You want this thing to cost twenty Grand. We think we could reduce a lot of the body roll with some suspension adjustment. The Scrambler does not exhibit nearly as much body roll.
@@ATVonDemand Jesus, that's really expensive. The original scrambler is awesome got to ride it a couple of times
In europe it dont have the walker evans shooks and no front bumper still it cost 3000$ more than in the states..i asked polaris tech support why and if the specs still the same but havent got an answer...they put some made in china/polaris own shooks on it to make even more money is my guess...got a rzr 1000 turbo today that i bought without seeing it..what if that had came without the 3" fox bypass shooks when i got it😲
I have saw that UA-cam videos and was wondering the same thing and the over sea model has turn signals and LED Headlights.
Wish they or anyone else besides Yamaha would bring back a legit sport quad. These big bore plastic quads just aren’t the same
55" wide
Hey what is your guys thoughts on the outlaw 525 irs? Anything too look out for? I’m looking at a 07.
We had a Polaris ranger and it jumped really bad now we have a kobota
เท่มากครับ
This guy said the same thing 30 times in a row
Did I, what?
Will they put some of the cheaper engines in this chassis..maybe a touring model. 570 850? Something less than 10k
They aren't talking but our first bet would be a High Lifter mud edition. We might see an 850 in one of these. We believe they should put the 570 in the smaller Scrambler platform at a lower price.
I’ve said Polaris should make a 570 scrambler for years. Price it about 6000-6500 and they would sell like hot cakes.
@@gregrowe1168 it would for sure with EPS.
You mind sending one to me👌
If they will send us two, we have one with your name on it.
👌
Googel polaris burning down..
To avoid commercial skip to 1:45
Make the same machine, but narrower
Yes, we would like to see this machine in a 50-inch version as well.
Don’t think we can register these in New York
Nice ! Something new cool . Like the thought of a wider wheelbase . I like it on the Outty Max ! With 48” - But 55” wide . Wow . It turns my head . I don’t know about you but I feel sand in my teeth .
Need to make a Big Boss 1000!
Do not fit in a pick up .... no thanks !
its tight but it will still fit in most full size trucks. fits in a chev i know for sure
Too tight 🤦♂️
Fits fine in my truck!
Looks cool and looks to be a blast to ride I used to be a Polaris guy had a few
11'02" il est passé ou le phare sous le guidon? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
15k dolar yours my country 30k dollar xD
Ouch
So it's 2020 and the still have Halogen bulbs at front but LED tails.
Santanu Roy has led lower headlights
Wow!! 😍
👍👍👍🙏🙏
all this and they still have there terrible shift lever in a terrible location! too big and bulky, and getting veryy heavy!
At this point, just get a Jeep.
At this price no handguards.... this is ridiculous
Danut Stupar a winch should be standard equipment too. If you get this stuck you’re not muscling it out unless you have superpowers.
Felicitaciones. Cómo hago para obtener un ATV Polaris en Ecuador?
Cuál es sel precio actual
15mil dolares
Would like to have this with a small engine and a bit less weight. Love the idea of long travel and moderate speeds but the weight is too much. Honestly, 570 would be enough power with about 200-250 pounds less. Polaris has always been heavy.
no skids 15k.
55” is cool and all, but will not fit on the back of a pickup truck.... Almost everyone has trailers now, but it is nice to put my quad in the bed of my truck sometimes.....
It fits in a full size truck bed just fine. I have had mine in two different truck beds and it fits
It can fit but you have to drive over the wheel wells. Sooner or later it’s ending up on top of you when you unload it.
@@gregrowe1168 that makes sense.
