It frustrated me somewhat that Simon is only ever asked about Eastenders and Howards' Way. There are so many other gems now, very sadly, hidden in the depths of his archive. My own favourite is 'The Vet'. Only lasted a single season, broadcast on BBC1 in 1989. It followed a Scots vet around the Highlands of Scotland. Simon wrote a stunning theme. Beautiful recording with an oboe as lead. No matter what Simon creates in the future, I am pretty confident that 'The Vet' will always be my favourite of his.
What a genuinely lovely guy - imagine how it must feel to have written one of the best known TV theme tunes in the world!
I can confirm that he is a very friendly man. Great to be around
Talent unprecedented
''Happy Christmas, Ange.''
Great theme tune.
I find this so moving, I go cold and when you see the staircase I expect to say the lovely Wendy Richard aka Pauline Fowler walk down. Bless you Simon
it has had so many turns and twists for people leaving.........thank you simon xx
Eastenders theme is the best every time. It comes on I feel great and relaxed
and then you watch the show and all they do is shout at one another and drink booze.
My favourite theme tune 1994 to 2009 version
I am a big fan of Simon may
Loved the long theme tune they had on the omnibus back on the day
If EastEnders ever ends, it will end with this rendition of the theme.
Happy Industries Bro of course it will end, it’s when not if. Every good thing ends

all eastenders fans need to hear from 1:30 - beatuful stuff and the chord changes you don't hear in the orginal are great
An old friend from Devizes, what talent
Did the theme tune to Howards Way , and the even snazzier “jazz” end credits , probably the best songwriter of the last 50 years
Agree, love that piece of music and going to listen to it now
Very nice, Cheers!
I always loved the theme the best but this version is rar the best. It makes it sound like a film the way he plays it
