- Neil Diamond's "The Last Thing On My Mind" is from the "Stones" Album, from 1971, Neils 7th studio album. It turned out to be one of his best selling albums containing songs written by Neil, but also and songs written by others (like this one).
Originally this song was written by American musician and singer-songwriter Tom Paxton in the early 1960s and recorded first by Paxton in 1964.
