Starting my Monday morning with some of that inimitable Joe Spivey energy is just what I needed this week. I enjoyed your reading. Big fan of Gore Vidal, too.
I have swollen lower legs, myself. They're no fun. And they do limit the number of videos I'm able to make. But I will be posting videos this week, oh yes. 😊
The best biography writer/historian, in your opinion? I should find some biographies to read, but I would like to choose the best from available options, or the most unbiased/accurate ones, at least.
The best thing is to say is that book is absolutely awful. I will have to return couple of works from classic authors to library as totally unreadable and epic fails, and read some other works. It is not because of their illiteracy or because it is so cool to reject tradition and belittle renowened authors, it is quite the contrary. The characters, pov's and approach to subject are, well, these are just failed works. In praise of this non fiction November, I will continue with Odyssey, but slightly different type...I will add A Midsummer's Night Dream, to make my list complete
It does not seem as a compelled theme for November, more a reading prompt or an attempt to give the content a structure. It would be really, well, dull if it is, and it would be really bad for those channels who specialized in one type of book reviews or whose content revolve around different ideas.
You should have gotten brie. It doesn't have a strong smell and it has a mild, creamy, buttery taste. Vidal wrote "Point to Point Navigation" assuming one had read "Palimpsest." It does not stand on its own. He wrote it when he was 80, and it is not representative of his work in general.
Suggest you watch some videos of Vidal from the fifties or sixties. Also please realize, which you are too bright to have missed, that you also will be old one day. Possibly if you talked more slowly your mouth could catch up with your brain.
I know that I, too, will crouch and moan in multifarious pain some day! Knowledge of the coming enwrinklement is one reason why I don't have tattoos or piercings!

I was a bit of obsessed with Shackleton about 15 years ago or so. What a story-and what a personality…

And those videos will be filed straight into my 'Watch Later' section, when I allow myself the time to scratch my UA-cam itch!

I'm glad to have your assurances!
