okay, that FMV description has me even MORE excited for this, had a hunch it would feel slight but still my most anticipated watch this year! major FOMO last night, wished I was at TIFF for this, even had a dream about it! THAT doesn't happen often, genuinely stoked to see it.
still, I value more those first 10 minutes of novelty than a whole year worth of matt damon vanilla action, transformers and ethnical recreations of famous old movies
I saw this in a theater a couple weeks ago. I wasn’t familiar with Harmony. The entire movie, I assumed Harmony was the star of the film. I was surprised to find it wasn’t. The audience I saw it with laughed A LOT throughout the film. So, it seemed people found it to be a so bad, it’s good type of movie. I definitely found it an interesting experience and don’t regret seeing it at all.
All my homies hate Harmony Korine, but I'm eternally grateful for him casting Werner Herzog in Julien Donkey Boy. I don't know if it was "unintentionally funny" or not, but the hose scene made me laugh so hard I seriously thought I might have to go to the hospital.
This sounds like 80% aesthetic and 20% plotline. It sounds thin in plot, which is basically Korine making it "Coherent" for the masses. Ps. Can you elaborate on the "Gross decapitation scene" I heard about?
Like all his films.. harmony korine sucks.. he can’t tell stories, he can’t write… he comes up with an idea which is either a vague outline or he’s got a visual style he wants to do and then that’s it… such a bullshit filmmaker- if he wants to be thought of as an artist rather than a filmmaker, he sucks at that too, alllll his films are so vacuous and up his own ass. Yet I try to watch all of them so I can see if he’ll ever change my mind 😂
If you think there's nothing but trolling in Trash Humpers you need to re-watch it until you realise how wrong you are. It's part of Harm's genius to convince lazy people (or typically unadventurous, with surface level expectations). He's hands down my favorite director and I know before seeing it I will hate things about it and will wind up loving those parts as I unravel what I can about why I hated them and how he forced my hand.
The Bible says faith in Jesus Christ and repentance are the ONLY way into the Kingdom of Heaven. (Acts 2:38-39, John 14:6) Make sure you get you Judgement-Ready by repenting and accepting Jesus Christ.
"weird FMV cutscenes from a bad crime game that came out in 1993" is apparently my sleeper-agent activation phrase
Powerful.

I don't know if the neighborhood walk thing is an incident of convenience, but it's fun!
It's enjoyable, isn't it
Hype, appreciate the insight from a legit fan instead of a snooty critic.
So, you loved it.
UA-cam poop you say? I'm even more in than I was before!

Tell your homies that winners never shiver
For me it’s him drinking cough syrup from a sandal
Harmony Korine is one of Americas greatest filmmakers
What was the name of the group you mentioned at about 3:30?

Fantastic review man!!
Hey! Aren’t you the guy from “Gold Ninja video?”
That's me!
Nice job using the word “Vibe” for the first time!

Good review
But, er, is good?
an 80 min tik tok
He is massively taking the piss, always has. I would rather watch films on UA-cam.
He isn’t trolling anybody, you just lack the ability to engage in the world sincerely.
