TIFF 2023: KILL Is Like No Other Indian Action Film
This is a very interesting video. Last week, I was in a book fair, and there was a guy seeling vintage 1960’s/70’s trans-themed books, and I wondered if some of those might be written by Ed Wood under a pen name (I wouldn’t be at all surprised if one of them might be him!) The only way I could have found out was buying one, and seeing if any of the books start going on strange tangents about Angora sweaters!
I actually liked the film. I used to watch it whenever it came on HBO or Cinemax(I forgot which one) as a kid in the 90s. Sure, the MCU Cap movies are superior, but there's a special charm to this movie.
Hello. How can we get this director's cut please ?
Id love to see the original
I found this video by googling about Schufftan process and stayed for this amazing story. Indeed, he was much more than a process inventor. Thank you!
Hi, how are you doing? I thought you put together a very interesting argument, or talking points. Ones that lead to further question and discussion. I may have came off as a pedantic snob (I usually do. lol). It's a curse and I have to live with it :) Regardless, I do think highly of Albert, as a Man and Director and I was curious, where I could go to purchase a copy? Please let me know. Cheers from Montreal Quebec Canada
Does he still steal a car from an older, Oscar winner, by pretending to be sick and throw up? And
6:30 I know this isn't a video about the other 'Captain' films but please, if possible. Why not just say, 'the Reb Brown Captain America T.V. films.' Almost everyone, has seen, or know about The Chris Evans connection and FTR they are not related to, 'The Rainbow Connection' or French one (connection). ;) Sorry for the, Ramble on. But it is my spirit song. It makes us 'Rebuary fans', (happy) & even a little nostalgic. Not for the movies, although if You're going to watch, or are curious about that Capt., with a shield from target. It holds value, for Riffers like me, or 'Spoony'. Hope You're well Noah.
3:25 Everytime I hear the name, see the logo, or hear the music.... I Cheer and a flood of memories come flooding back, most of them, are great! They were a product of their time. A Zeitgeist definer, there will never be another Cannon. P.S. My opinion, at that point in time, 'Supergirl' with Helen Slater (The only bright spot), is without a doubt, the Worst, S.H. movie I had seen. Until that time. There are some 70's stinkers too.
Knights featuring the late great Kris Kristopherson is a personal favorite of his
Love Jeff Leroy! Never seen a movie of his that wasn't super entertaining -- The Screaming is another fun one
I know I like it and I'm not so secretly don't give a crap what anybody else thinks about it
He came out to Vegas for showing I don't know which cut it was? The showing was post "Captain America: The first avenger." In a movie theater in Las Vegas filled with comic book store patrons who were accustomed to monthly showings where we would drink and make fun of whatever was playing. Under that circumstance I think the director was maybe a little bit offended.
It wasn't this cut. That was because albert thought the last can was ruined. So he tried to recreate it using different cuts and vhs rips. We thought this was the same cut too until we got it back after he had passed. It is mind-bendingly different. The cut you are referring to is on youtube and a few commenters have linked it.
Brilliant video
Not gonna lie, I enjoyed that movie when I watched it for the first time (I'm talking about the theatrical version)...Where can I watch the Director's cut version?
this was such a trash video ngl, wasted 20 minutes of my life before i turned this horse shit off.
i havent been around fellow film nerds since high school, so glad to find and watch this
It has its cheesy moments and the costume is eh, but it also has cool scenes. Always wondered why Red Skull didn't look more like himself for more of the movie.
I think STEEL is worse.
This is Burke, one of the alpha beta’s from ROTN
Really reminded me of guard from underground in the second half. Some really suspenseful moments even while being ridiculous. Really enjoy Kiyoshi Kurosawa
i've seen it and it is not good, secretly or otherwise.
I wonder if Bethesda took ideas from Radioactive dreams?
great review
I'm sold, but how in the world does a Joe Six Pack like me see it? I'm not exactly Harry Knowles here.
I would love to see his version of captain America
As a captain America fan since the 60s it was tough watching those early captain America movies.
Cyborg was one of my faves of the day❤
Love 1990 CA. I feel like you had to be there. When I was growing up, there were only a handful of comicbook superhero movies. Movies like CA 90, the Punisher, MOU, and the Flash all took risks and were trying to find a similar yet unique superhero formula. I love all of them.
whats the source of the quote by Alekan? Thank you!
Way before the Nostalgia critic when I was their age; I saw Captain America movie in 1992 back when I was 12 because I had a marvel comic collector obsessed friend at the time, and I can honestly say that was one of the shittiest movies I have or ever will see.
I remember watching this movie as a kid on TV in the 90s and remember it being really good, I also remember the rocket scene and the kid, was that the Albert pyun version?
No. The version was stuck in cans and thought to be ruined. There are some unique tv extended versions floating around of the theatrical release. Likely one of those.
Is there a 'GoFundMe' for getting you out of the basement?
No I liked that movie. There are far worse superhero movies. It has problems but its fine. Would love to see the alternative cut.
It always frustrated me they had a fantastic looking Red Skull make up yet ditched it early on and replaced it with a lame looking make up effect that still covered the actors face, just didn't make him look like Red Skull.
I actually NEVER knew how to properly pronounce his name cause back then there was no discussion or ‘content’ from anyone who could direct me otherwise….LOL…I do remember the Comics Scene article that drove me insane with anticipation for this film. I always thought the suit was a bit ‘too’ comic accurate but it was the 80’s. Cap definitely wasn’t going to go the route of Batman and be moody and dark but I think that’s kinda the thing that killed this film to a degree. That thing was soooo successful that anything after that that wasn’t that was not recieved well. I actually saw a trailer in the movie theater before ‘the Wizard’…and I was geeked man…I couldn’t even enjoy the wizard because I was gong-ho on this film. And the trailer didn’t even show any scenes…LOL…!!!….that being said I think I always ‘knew’ what to expect. It was Canon films AND it was Albert Pyun. Most times if you were renting videos or going to the movies once you saw Canon, you knew what you were getting into and you accepted your fate and dived right in…….
The one music group you mentioned didn’t they do the main theme for the film. Looker….? Looker is a gem of 80’s film
You know what? As a kid, I freakin loved the original theatrical cut. I’m sure my mind might change a bit as an adult, but I’d love to see the director’s original intent.
I have never seen the movie, but if it is directed to Albert Pyun, its hard for me to believe it isn't a good watch.
Thanks for this review. Hopefully, the Pyun Cut will show up on the comic convention circuit this summer.
This was absolutely brilliant buddy!! 🎉 I've never seen the original captain American movie or heard anything back about it, but the orginal cut of it sounds amazing so i look forward to potentially seeing it and i wanna see more films by Albert radioactive dreams is definitely my kind of film!
Capitan America
Appreciate your passion for this film and giving it life.
Always liked the 1990 Captain America movie alot better than the first Avenger! Why? Because it has a much better story and explains what's happening in the movie! The first Avenger is all action but there's no back up story! Also the costume design is different in both films!
I wish you would do a re-edit of this video, and get to the point...yikes. Albert this, Albert that...
Ohh man I hope this is released. I grew up on the original version. I have so much nostalgia for it. This is so much more interesting sounding than what I assumed the directors cut would be.
I rented the movie on vhs in the 90s. How/where do we watch this original version?
Where do we watch this version?
Wow! Pyun’s was way better.
I seen this movie like 2 or 3 times before I was 10 and I loved it anytime I seen it on tv 😂
