- This is a look at the brand new 2021 scott spark 2021 granite black color and it retails for $2200 and weighed in at 32 pounds 9 ounces at a size medium. the bike is a mid size travel bike with 130mm
Its a perfect price point for an entry level full suspension mtb and something you dont have to break the bank but you do get a dropper post and 12 speed with both suspensions being air so they are fully adjustable.
Let me know what you guys think of the color and if this is a bike that interests you!!!

I have a lot more bikes coming up in the future so stay tunes and I'll see everyone in the next video.... Thanks so muhc for watching
I just bought one this week, and rode it for the first time yesterday. What a great bike!! Although, I did upgrade from an old 26" GT hardtail, so anything would feel better. At first I thought the remote lockout is unnecessary, but just on my first ride I was changing it frequently to suit the conditions. Rear suspension is fantastic, I'll never go back to hard tail. And the 29" wheels are so much faster - I took 9 minutes off my previous best time of 1h14m. So I'm really stoked with this bike. Thanks for a great review!
What does everyone think of this entry level dual suspension Scott Spark for 2021???? you guys liking the color??
GC Performance it looks so good but is it $2200 usd or aud and could you please link me where you got the bike from
@@loganhadfield2531 its 2200 usd, just search scott bicycles on google and It should pop up
@@loganhadfield2531 it’s $3200 AUD
@@Tommmmmmmmmmmm we always pay premium price in Aust,
SPARK is good quality bike. Their geometry is amazing, good climber, and good on the downs too.
I agree this is a great buy for someone who wants to get going in the mountain bike scene
I have Maxxis on my MTB and in 4 years made 1 flat tyre only. Yes, true are much expensive then other brands but worthed.
I would never change this brand for anything else. Highly recomand Maxxis - so light tyres and so good performance!
maxxis is always a go to whenever someone asks me what tire do I recomend
I’m on my second Spark (2015 / 750). I highly recommend them, built like a tank. The lower the model number, the better, so go for the one you can afford. I was eyeing the new 930, but it’s still not available and the price is mental (20% increase since Jan and that’s for a pre-order bike!) that is true for the whole industry tho, not only scott. I ended up forking half the price on a new wheelset, upgraded fork, shock rebuild and new brake stuff, dropper and an ergon saddle (my favorite upgrade ever). Now it rides like a dream. Spark is an XC bike, but it’s trail friendly (only Spark RC is strictly XC)
sounds very nice good bike choices!!!
Got the spark 960 3rd week in march and it's been fantastic!! The lockout is something I wasnt sure I would ever use but I am constantly switching it.
Tires were pretty trash tho so I upgraded to bigger maxxis tubeless DDs. Aggressor on the rear and High Roller II on the front. No complaints other than that.
yea the lockout is one of those things your not sure your going to use it and then when you get out there on the trail, you use it all the time, its a really nice feature I just hate all the cables but very efficient to have it
Scott!!!!! That thing is fresh!!!!
I love scott
Dope video, I got this bike a couple months ago and I love it. It's my first MTB so the price range was a little steep for me but I really see the value of what I got. I love how you can lock the suspension from the cockpit, It is a tad heavy but I can't really tell the difference when I ride my friend's full carbon.
Yea it’s an amazing bike and congratulations on getting it!!! That’s awesome
any negatives? i might get it this werk
I got this bike on an early realease and it’s badass
Awesome, how are you liking it???? its an amazing deal for the bike!!!
I'm interested to know how you like it 4 months in.
@@behindtheboxx ended up selling and going with a nukeproof mega. My local trails are very downhill enduro oriented. The trails you ride the most determine what you need
Great video answers few of my questions. New to full suspension mountain bikes scene. I am really looking forward on purchasing one. Just like everyone else, budget is a large part for me.
Thank you,
you are very welcome and glad I could help!!!
Awesome review! Thanks for the details.
no no no, thank you for watching!!! and if you have any quesitons please lemme know
The front Rockshox suspension is 😋😍
lmaoooo its very nice
Fuel EX 5/Trance x 29 3 is 34lbs ...Vitus is around the same. The weight is what you get at that price. It honestly matters less to people who are fit and are good climbers, or the bike climbs well. Those cables need work and there are MUCH better bikes for 2300 and under. Nice NX slipped in there tho.
Yea exactly that’s the normal weight of a bike that price
$2000 is the sweet spot for Mtb's imo. Also it seems like you get way more bike for your money compared to race bikes. Like hydraulic discs on top branded hard tails that start at under $600 for example. Add suntour forks and larger 29" wheels, more expensive tires all for 600 and I just don't get it. A 600 dollar race bike would suck so bad you'd never ride it The industry's pricing is weird imo but what do I know, heh. not a rant, I've got both, Just a question that's bugged me. Great vid btw.
yea 2k for a starting mtb you get alot and also it beign ful suspension your getting alot of nice tech here for the price
I got this bike around a month ago. I love it. What can do you recommend in terms of mid and long term maintenance and upgrades to make this bike even better ?
best thing you can do it carbon wheels then maybe a wireless dirvetrain if you want and also maybe a wirless dorpper really long term down the road
Great looking mtb!
Hopefully I’ll get one once it’s become available in my country. I wanted to ask though if it has tubeless tires
the tires and rims are tubeless ready but you have to buy the valves and also the sealent I believe, but yes its a really nice bike and im pretty sure we are all sold out for the year with this bike right now unless scott can find more bikes laying around.
Riding the old Scott Spark 960 2020 model - good thing, pretty much a decent entry level dual suspension bike. Just replace the saddle, your butt will thank you - if you climb or ride decent distance with it.
If you can go up to the Fox equiped bikes do that. X-Fusion is okay when new or refreshed but the shocks go bad quick with boiling. I know because I took mine apart after 12 months and it had custard oil.
yea the xfuysion are alright but for sure fox is a house hold name brand that knows what it is doing
for some weird reason, the 970 has a quick-release in the back instead of a through axle, when every other model has through axles...
yea I know i was surprised about too, I guess thats why its so cheap for a full suspension mtb
@@GCPerformance18 can this be upgraded to through axel on the rear?
Bought this bike and it's amazing
bery nice and I am glad you like the bike
Great review. This is my first MTB, great bike but oh so different to my road bike 😀. Trying to learn a manual just how far back do you need to go on this, just can’t get it (yet) and a wheelie seems like the bike has to be vertical, is it possible? Any vids anyone? While I am here would upgrading the wheels be of major benefit?
Yea for sure. Wheels make a huge difference it’s easier to climb and also respond better in corners. Thanks so much for watching
Is their a big difference between spark and genius in terms of how the bike feels or just in general?
yes the genius is more raked out and feels more of an all mountian bike, maybe a little more sluggish because of the larger travel
hi may i know where did you ordered it? is it at your local shop? do they offer online shipment to singapore?
Im a store so we have them in stock at the shop but I only have one more large left and then thats it
Cool grafit green color bikes is good
The color loooks sick!!!
yeah! 🙃
thanks!!!
I'm thinking about buying one I'm currently riding a 11 Norco Phaser 3 how is it in deep turns?
I love to see the scott scale 940 2021 👍🏾
I’ll do my best to get one 😁😁
I will buy this bike 💪
After about 3 years the last Keurig stopped working ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf initially was able to unblock, however eventually we couldn't fix. That one was a replacement unit sent by the manufacturer after we had problems with our very first Keurig. This works fine (lol, at least for now) however I didn't realize the water reservoir was so much smaller than our prior unit. With 2 people having one or two cups of coffee each morning, it seems like I'm refilling it daily. Otherwise just happy to have the convenience of pod coffee vs. making a morning pot.
Really like the bike , sweet looking black granite color but the bright green kills it for me , wish it was black or silver lettering instead , can live with the cable mess in front & cr axle in back but the green color just hits me wrong
The color is pretty good, but Yeah it would be better with other color options, but it’s still a good bike overall
damn a silver would have loked so nice
@@GCPerformance18 yeah that’s true
Do you have a 920 that you can do a video of please? I’m trying to decide between that and a Trek Top Fuel 9.7
I dont have one right now in stock but if I come across one I got you
Ditch the lockout and buy a wireless dropper that way you free up two cables.
that would be a sick a setup with the wireless drop ouit but thats half the price of the bike almost
@@GCPerformance18 Magura Vyron about £350 or $460.Still lovely bike any how.
Hey. Nice video! Still have the size L in stock? You have any spark RC 900 comp on the way? Shipping to south Florida? Thanks!
I dont have anymore I am sorry, I do have specialized epic in size large send me email if interewsedt
What do you think this bike should mostly be used for and what would it be good at? I am really wanting to get this bike just not sure if it fits my needs
this bike is for someone who is upgraidng from a hard tail and wants to dip there foot into full suspension, and not really sure of what kind of riding they are doing but maybe jsut weekend rides with the friends
@@GCPerformance18 okay 👍🏽 thanks for the info 😃
@@GCPerformance18 would it be good for trails or racing down hill or things like that?
I love mine.
Very nice bike congrats😁😁
@@GCPerformance18 thanks man, I probably should have gotten the next size up but transferring from bmx i felt more comfortable on a med.
@@murdockhampe250 yea its all good, I do the same thing I like a smaller mtb because I can throw it around easier on thje trail
very nice bike, where was it made?
prob taiwan
Gotta agree with the cables (bit messy), trying to decide between this an a Trek EX5 at the moment ($100 diff here in OZ between them)
new to the game, so wondering if you could compare this running gear to the new Shimano Deore 12? Cheers 🍻
Thanks for checking out the Channel, the new Shimano is very smooth. It shifts really well the sx shifter is very cheap feeling, it’s a plastic thumb shifter, so if you do get one with that shifter change it out for like an nx or gx and it will feel amazing but both components are really nice. You won’t be disappointed with either one.
hey man i have another question. Is it possible to install 27.5 wheels on this bike? if so would it help with stand over height? Also, do you answer questions via email? Thanks in advance.
I don't think so, and sometimes yes
What height are you (if you do not mind of course)? I am 173cm (5'8" I think) and not sure if I am better off going with S size. I had road bike from Giant (Propel Adv) in M size and I wish I had it step smaller. There's no way for me to walk into a shop and try it where I live, have to order it online and have it delivered. Thank you
I’m thinking if I should get the norco fluid FS 3 for $2289 aud or this bike what do u guys think reply your opinion
I havnt seen the norco but ive been selling scott now for like 6 years and they make great product and there customer service is top notch, The twin lock system is somersetting very nice too
Both great bikes. This one probs better specs tho
@@Jacko_mcc better components
You can find this bike for like 1900 bucks I got mine in cali for 1900
Set up the tires with cushcore and some good sealant and hit any trail
this looks great but there is one major drawback, rear qr. i have nothing against the skewers, but on a $2200 bike, i should get a thru axle. this bike was on my list but i am deciding on the giant trance 29 3.
thats insnae I got to take another look I didnt even notice that they didnt have a thru ale on the back
So you took Giant? I am also deciding in between these two...
@@Mojster-Jaka Global shortage on Giant. None here in Australia until April 2021 if we’re lucky. Just bought the Scott 970 today, $100 knocked off price.
@@seabiped3451 I got Spark a week ago. Its a rocket!
I got the same Scott bike in 2017 for $1600 aud, they are now selling the 2021 model for $3700 aud. Wtf!!!
jesus!!! thats insane
how to get your front whell of this bike
pull down lever, and then put into the slot on the thru axle and lefty loose it to openun thread it
15Kg is too heavy.
With pedals and sealant on wheels 16Kg ?
yes
Is that standard colour?
yes
Is this a trail or cross country bike ?
more of a trail bike I would say slacker geo and 130mm travel
i have the same bike, but mine dont go over mid lock, i mean it only does 1 click and then realeaz, it doesent go to full lock
needs to be adjusted properly
@@GCPerformance18 how?
Hi @gc performance, I got the previous model does anyone know what kind rear hub should i get to upgrade it? By the way the current is 5x141 width
Whatever wheel you like. You have to upgrade the whole wheel. Not jus the hub on this model
@@GCPerformance18 i try to look at several my local shop but couldn't find any compitable wheelset but for 135 142 and 148 there's lot of them..some of them suggest to try modify it.
@@GCPerformance18 thanks for the suggestion.
entryyy level!!!!
lmao entry to the maxxxxx!!!
Rim come with TR tape?
They do not
Someone is offering me a Scott Spark 20 (looks to be from 2011 or earlier) 26 wheel (maybe 3x10 or 3x9) but it is full suspension and full carbon. Worth it for $750?
ahhhhhhh that is a tough one, I do not like that it is to old tbu I mean if it is worth it for you then go for it
Is the 970 better than the 960???
No the 960 will be better, the lower the number for Scott is better
How many killos?
This Spark or Giant Trance 29 3?
You know ima say Scott. I like the twin lock option
What's the website of your bike shop.
Thank you.
send me an email gcperformanceyt@gmail.com
How com Scott put a NON TUBELESS TIRE!!!! Saving a few bucks? That's cheap
Yes this is true!! They do it a lot to be honest
ive run into some issues since i bought this bike. You can say they are mostly minor issues but well, when i bought this bike they only had XL size available because of the covid shortage. Didn think it be a big issue since im 6'2 tall so im right in the middle of L and Xl and my large wal mart bike felt kind of small. The issues that ive run into is that in narrow trails with sharp turns the bike feels a tad to sluggish and bulky when making those turns makes me feel insecure and i have to go way slower than i would like. Also the fact that this is an XC bike combined with the fact that its an XL makes me feel like i have not as much control over it and i feel like the saddle is very high when i want to go down a steep hill even when the dropper post is slammed all the way down. What would you recommend to try to fix this or at least help with it? would a shorter stem help for the handling in the narrow trails? Also is this bike capable to using 27.5 wheels, and if its possible would riding a 27.5 wheel at the back and 29 up front give it a more trail bike feel and help it feel more secure on steep downhill sections? Im thinking maybe i should of gone with a large frame but their wasent any at the time and also i thought a XL frame was more my size at the time. I really like the bike on more straight and open terrain as it feels fast, but my trails are very twisty in some areas and thats where i feel limited.
Ill be honest with you the xl bikes are massive but by no means will that limit you to not being able to perform, your probably just use to your smaller bike but you keep riding you can send that big bike on the trail
i wanna buy it is it good?
its great!!!!!!!!!!
I’m about 5 foot 7 inches tall, what size of this bike should I get?
Small
In germany sold out :( Large
😞😞 I have one of these in a large right now on the floor 😁
@@GCPerformance18 i get my in tomorrow ;)
My friend it’s called zip ties
Lmao this is true
is the price correct $2200?
yes it is :))
can i know it is corbon or alloy?
@@mizanbest6402 alloy
ok tq
those cables are surely a mess
yea i call it a birds nest lol
worst deal ever. wtf do people think about while spending money on the absolute entry bike? 2200 bucks for what? 😂
quite heavy rockshox judy, QR axel on the back that leads to the lack of stiffness on the rear wheel.
the only advantage of this bike is a Scott logo on a frame and twin-lock system. btw it is possible to buy a twin-lock lever and twin-lock compatible shock and fork separately for any kind of bike.
Can anyone manual this or is it me? 🤔
lmaoo keep practicing my dude
30 plus ..wow😟
30 plus what do you mean?

@@damiienevo4053 oh yea, I know, isnt that crazy I think its alot to do with that fork and the wheels, it felt made heavy but also stumpjumpers are right around there too
