If I'm not mistaken I think those four voicings are modeled. There is a DSP section that interacts with the analog components and in low power mode you are hearing primarily the DSP.
I have the HEAD version of this & they certainly sound different. I think because of the cab choices & this one is a combo, but their overall sounds are close. This is actually my favorite amp!! I have about 9-10 amps & this one is the one I always go back to.
i got a flextone3 75w and i love it for recording! line6 sounds are great at lower volume levels...if i wanna gig i def need a ext cab to help push the tone.
hey, hey, HEY! I have the ORIGINAL, probably one of the FIRST off the line, Flextone Duo amps from Line6 and this thing is AWESOME! The models are excellent and that was back in the 90s, pal. Still works like it is brand new, too. Outstanding tube emulation.
I must admit the hi gain stuff sounded really nice. Reminded me a little of the Orange channel on my Jvm. £1200 though? ouch nah i could buy a decent Marshall or mesa for that price. Nice review as always, cheers!
They've always gotten it right, for those who preferred their digital stuff. For those who prefer higher end tube sound, they're entering that market now but that's not who they set out to be. That's like comparing pickup trucks to Ferraris, each was designed to be something specific that doesn't fit everyone the same.
well ive heard both and in early videos when it was released you hear it has no modeling from outside stores and from line 6 and now ive heard from line 6 in another demo saying it has 4 hd amp models built in with an analog circuit. thats just what i heard, im not sure, so im not arguing
Only problem w/ this demo IMO is that no one (none of us) *really* knows what the ML2 sounds like, so we don't have much frame-of-reference for the tone of the amp. Generally sounds good, tho - great work, as usual!
@shadowsXNOTelite Um... which mesa? Besides Mesa's aren't this versatile. I am the owner of a 2002 Triple Rectifier. First thing I've found out is that a 150 watt amp is completely unusable for anything less that arena gigs. (which I've never had the pleasure to play yet.) Line 6 is brilliant to limit this amp to 50 watts, so you can use the power section at reasonable club gig volumes. This is essentially the 4 most famous electric guitar amp sounds in 1 amp. That's a hell of a value.
Good ol' Southern Rock to start the video off with :-) Gee, the last one didn't happen to sound like a Mesa Boogie did it? :-) Could you get a good Blues Tone out of this? More like the Fender Blues Jr. Thanks, Lou
rob ive been trying to find a good combo and but theres so many and also i wouldnt know myself what you can gig or not.can you make a combo amps review like a can you gig it under 1000$ amps. i know alot of people may like the help out too bc finding a good amp for a specific type of music is hard when you dont have much experience. ireally dont wanna ask for thumbs up but thumbs up if you need help from chappers all knowing knowledge too
is there any delay, or pop when you switch between channels? when i use my pod into a p.a. the sound will cut out for a split second when i switch patches, and it bothered me so much i couldnt use it live anymore.
i got like called an idiotic twat for choosing a line 6 over a vox ..yeah i knw like vox's all famouse and shit but still line 6 is pretty awesome as well(IMO)...and iv been kinda doubting it latley but chappers u made me go like awwww damn im soo glad i went with line 6 so thank you man ^_^..... : ) btw sorry for my bad english :P
i have a line6 Flextone III XL, my friend just got this, he says his amp is louder but over all mine sounds better and clearer.. mine doesn't even have tubes. to be honest, i'm a little tired of line 6 modelling and digital stuff BUT them attepting to go all tube could be worst as the tone of this amp still sounds a little thin
Velvet Revolver - Slither , Also like the first song i ever play in drop D :L And that first lead tone actually genuinely blew my mind. No kidding. Not even saying that. Just did. But Fuck You i cant afford that :'( Thats top blackstar and marshall money :/ Jog On.
Love the clean on this, dirt is just not my thing. Its thin and just messy, no definition. I have to say line 6 dose do a good job but there tube stuff is just not as good. I know they cost a lot more but the vetta amps sound way bethere and there not even tube. I love how line 6 shows that solid state can sound good but they dont do tube as good.
The best demo of this amp I've seen on the net so far!
hmm, the latest guitar player magazine article on the DT50 explicitly states that it has a DSP preamp, and tube power section.
If I'm not mistaken I think those four voicings are modeled. There is a DSP section that interacts with the analog components and in low power mode you are hearing primarily the DSP.
Wow! It's awesome! Brilliant video as ever, Rob! :-)
@ibanezman007
have you forgotten that Bogner is involved in this?
automatically turns gold then ;)
hearing this shakes me up

My favorite as well with humbuckers.
I just checked this out at my local guitar shop, and damn this is a great review but if u hear it in real life u'll be amazed! it sounds fucking good!
yeah i agree with this statement 👏
Finally something good from Line 6
Thats Some Real Nice Toneage On That Amp!
Wow a line 6 other than the Vetta 2 that sounds good!............REALLY GOOD Infact!!!
Great demo, thanks.
Great amps best thing line 6 ever made
hey, hey, HEY! I have the ORIGINAL, probably one of the FIRST off the line, Flextone Duo amps from Line6 and this thing is AWESOME! The models are excellent and that was back in the 90s, pal. Still works like it is brand new, too. Outstanding tube emulation.
@RobChappers lmao, mumpkins,
Chappers' Metal Pumpkin
when does the all orange guitar with black hardware known as the CMP come out?
really helpful. thank you!
It still moves air like tube amps
Nice, its all those amps with the look of a Matchless...INCLUDING BACKLIGHT!! this comes ina 2 x 12 right? any idea on pricing?
It doesn't sound half-bad. It's expensive for a Line6 product. I'm looking forward to trying one out myself.
this amp is a studio god send! me likey...alot alot!
I must admit the hi gain stuff sounded really nice.
Reminded me a little of the Orange channel on my Jvm.
£1200 though? ouch nah i could buy a decent Marshall or mesa for that price.
Nice review as always, cheers!
High gain channel has a nice "honk" to it, a bit like a laney... I approve.
Simplically Sophisticated \m/\m/

It actually sounds pretty good, I just wonder if it will blow up in a blazing inferno like all the other line6 gear.
well ive heard both and in early videos when it was released you hear it has no modeling from outside stores and from line 6 and now ive heard from line 6 in another demo saying it has 4 hd amp models built in with an analog circuit. thats just what i heard, im not sure, so im not arguing

@SwampAshSpecial oh cool never knew :) mind you he has the awesome guitar and hair needed for such antics...
I love that fat sound that it is created by this tube...!
"and the suprise is, it's realy good" classic, lol.
@Rekilo Mumpkin \m/
i would not think that it was a line 6 if it didn't have that logo on there... THAT'S A HUGE PLUS
How does that thing take pedals? Or do you have to use one of their floorboards with it?
Good ol' Southern Rock to start the video off with :-) Gee, the last one didn't happen to sound like a Mesa Boogie did it? :-) Could you get a good Blues Tone out of this? More like the Fender Blues Jr.
Thanks,
Lou
Was there a Line 6 rep in the studio holding these guys in check during this demo?
seriously dude, i know what u think about line 6 but try this one sometime when u see it, its way better then the other line 6 garbage
yes but the circuitry is analog so the amp is very natural sounding
The Chappers is a Zep fan?! Hell yeah!
is the ml2 in production already?
@davemis40 the valve is decent(bogner did the tube section) its a hybrid and has some modeling but it is BY FAR the best spider
rob ive been trying to find a good combo and but theres so many and also i wouldnt know myself what you can gig or not.can you make a combo amps review like a can you gig it under 1000$ amps. i know alot of people may like the help out too bc finding a good amp for a specific type of music is hard when you dont have much experience. ireally dont wanna ask for thumbs up but thumbs up if you need help from chappers all knowing knowledge too
@SevenX714X I would like to see that as well :) I love my HT-40
what do you think is the best 112 cab?
What is the guitar use in the Demo ?
@klummster88 and bumblefoot used a line 6 for all his guns and roses live stuff, but it was their REALLY high end one whatever it is called.
Im looking for a smaller amp to gig,,rather than the very heavy EVH 5150,,will a Blackstar smaller amp get me close?
is there any delay, or pop when you switch between channels? when i use my pod into a p.a. the sound will cut out for a split second when i switch patches, and it bothered me so much i couldnt use it live anymore.
chappers, did you express your honest opinion of this amp? you havent led me wrong yet when you say something is good, so im curious.
how old is that Pumpkin?...
How does it compare to the Blackstar HT 40 ?
so,being tube people how is the tube feel? as compared to the other claims ouit there like VoX.
what about the line six bogner tube amp? (line 6 hd100)
dammit i thought that was the shit when it came to amps
:(
What if they just like sitting close to each other?
Thank goodness he said Valve for all us English people
Does the combo rattle? I kinda hear it
how much does it weigh ?
@WoWAdmanGuitaring did you watch the rest of the video?
i dont think they choose what ads are before the vids..
Somehow when he was dropping it to D, I was thinking "Play Slither!" Then he did. =D
No Modeling ???? Wrong again. The DT50 does uses HD modeling technology
How would this do for D Standard / Drop C tunings, for music akin to Gojira and death metal etc etc.
Monkey Pumpkin.
A Line 6 that doesn't completely fail at delivering tones? I am surprised.
what song was it at 10:13?
@kingkonaha what about whole lotta love?
it sounded like when you using active pickups very compressed not like all tube natural amps !
i got like called an idiotic twat for choosing a line 6 over a vox ..yeah i knw like vox's all famouse and shit but still line 6 is pretty awesome as well(IMO)...and iv been kinda doubting it latley but chappers u made me go like awwww damn im soo glad i went with line 6 so thank you man ^_^..... : )
btw sorry for my bad english :P
I'm going to have to find an excuse to use the phrase "box of wizards" sometime in the near future!
guessing you missed the annotation note that corrects lee? it was there, go back and look mr high and mighty
@RobChappers BLUMPPKIN!
I want one to go with my HD500
You tell 'em. They've probably read your comment and made notes to make sure they don't make a mistake ever again so as to offend Mr mighty spicecrop.
The monkey Lord playing Slash 0_o I now have seen pretty much everything...
@Giltindor Chapman Guitars ML2 private stock
at 10:42 i think the captain is coming xD
0:31
"what is the DT50?"
-"it's an amplifierli."
since when does line6 build in italy
@thefree2000 only for bedroom level mode... its all tube man...
ok giltindor, it is from chapman guitars.
Damn for once Line 6 actually got it right.
The DT50 112 doesn't have a vintage 30
@RobChappers too lazy to carve it? lol
@RobChappers Its power is great, its wisdom untold, its ability to detect the shredding win within people, undeniable.
Behold, The Mumpkin \,,/ \,,/
That doesn't sound so good to me.
i have a line6 Flextone III XL, my friend just got this, he says his amp is louder but over all mine sounds better and clearer.. mine doesn't even have tubes. to be honest, i'm a little tired of line 6 modelling and digital stuff BUT them attepting to go all tube could be worst as the tone of this amp still sounds a little thin
Believe me it isn't. It smokes 90% of amps out there right now.
@mg200442000 I know EXACTLY what you mean. :)
yeup i would say it does. :D
@SilverEra309
or sprinkling gold with turd :P
PLEASE NAMED SONG AT 6:30 !!!
@josody ha, i tried my best man :P
@RobChappers Pumpkin Lord :D
this amp sounds amazing (for a line 6 anyway:P) but the price tag completely puts me off it:/
@spicecrop Why so serious?
My ht40 is about 50 lbs
Velvet Revolver - Slither , Also like the first song i ever play in drop D :L And that first lead tone actually genuinely blew my mind. No kidding. Not even saying that. Just did. But Fuck You i cant afford that :'( Thats top blackstar and marshall money :/ Jog On.
still a Line 6...and for 1200...theres plenty out there which beats its arse
Love the clean on this, dirt is just not my thing. Its thin and just messy, no definition. I have to say line 6 dose do a good job but there tube stuff is just not as good. I know they cost a lot more but the vetta amps sound way bethere and there not even tube.

‘No modeling whatsoever’? I beg to differ!! C’mon boys
i can't belive that none know the title of the song at 6:30!!! :(
" and the suprise is its really good :D " hahahahaha
@LittleBuddah118 And in 5 years, you would stand a chance of selling it
