    Appreciate your video. I have always avoided upgrading speakers or radios for my 50 trips around the sun. Now that our middle child is driving and her cars rear speakers sounded terrible I ordered and learned from this video. Again thank you I appreciate your guidance.

    This was great. But for a strange reason. My 2009 Camry's trunk latch failed. Can't open. The dealer quoted me $1600 to replace it...which included $1000 to repair the damage that would be caused by "breaking" into the trunk. Using this video, I did it in an hour without any damage. Way thanks!!!

    I did this with my ‘08 Camry abt two years ago. Installed kicker 6x9s or something like that. Got it all hooked up and back together. Turned up the music, and the bass just a tad up…good lord the rattle was awful. It’s such a pain in the ass to take it all back apart I just said screw it. I put towels back there to try and muffle them but to no avail. When I say bass, I’m talking like factory setting bass. The plastic around the speakers rattle for even the smallest bump.
    Shot in the dark here but is there a way to insulate the deck without ripping it all apart again? This isn’t a sub I’m talking abt. Just simple 6x9s with nothing pushing them. Lol Great video btw, subbed after seeing all your content.
    I got here by watching your 4runner content. going to try and upgrade my wife’s ‘07 4Runner’s speakers, HU and amp. TIA!

    Hey, it’s me again about that Toyota Camry XLe I found some two ohm speakers 6 x 9’s two Way with tweeter I talk to the manufacture he said it would be OK if I spliced in the tweeter and the woofer separate on that JBL amp like the one in your video what do you think? I don’t mind doing it like I said if it works, it will be fine for me. Anything is better than blown factory speakers.

What wires do i use if I’m keeping the factory amp with coaxial speakers? Also do the “leftover” wires end up getting hooked to something or do they just “hang out”?

    It actually is possible to use any coaxial speakers for the JBL system you don’t need components I have already done this install in a 2010 Camry le with the JBL amp all you have to do is simply wire the tweeter and midrange separately on whatever speaker your using and it works flawlessly I’m using skar audio elite tx69 in front and rear deck

    • @LastOfADyingBreed618
      @LastOfADyingBreed618 Рік тому +1

      It depends on the speaker but there should be some wires coming out through the magnet or somewhere around it for the tweeters your going to want to separate those leads from the midrange and using the same adapter from the factory speakers you just wire the pair for the tweeters and the other pair of wires to the midrange I will post the link I found online that explains the whole the process and which wires are your negative and positives

    I used the Alpine Type S component speakers (have the JBL) old speakers were working before replacement. All went super easy but sound is very weak like only tweeter sounds out of both the 6x9 and tweeter. So reconnected old speakers back and get same weak sound. Any idea what happened or how to fix? I had been having problems with rear speakers going on and off when using aux input but never with radio cd or Bluetooth phone... would have to reposition aux wire to get rear sound.

      Usually they don't come in the standard version with an "amp".
      Now if you change the standard OEM radio and you want to also upgrade the speakers, obviously you look for the speakers to suit your new after market radio/CD/DVD/amp etc...

The amp is underneath the passenger seat to give you an idea what radio I have ,do you have the numbers or do you know the numbers that are on the back of those factory rear speakers when you took them out so that I can compare with the numbers on mine to make sure they are the two way 6 x 9’s in my back deck I need to know how I’m going to wire all that before I tear into the back dash . I am going to put a 6 x 9 meds in the back with independent tweeters and wire them in independently. If I have the same set up that is on your video. I haven't replaced these speakers yet so not sure if my car is the same as in the video, but I replaced my front speakers in my 08' camry with JBL premium audio system. The speakers are stock JBL speakers are 2ohm so your typical 4 ohm speakers will be pretty underwhelming with the factory amp, the front speakers also have a shallow mounting depth which further limits your options. The rear speaker brackets look like they could fit a pretty thick 2ohm speaker

    I wish this came out earlier! Lol so about a year ago I tried to replace my rear blown speakers in my 2008 Camry XLE w/JBL no navigation. I had no idea about the specific wiring layout JBL requires. I tried to replace the rear spreakers with JBL GTO939 Co-Axial 6x9s. I ended up figuring out that the what to do with the 4 wires instead of the two so I soldered speaker wire in the 4 spots for each speaker and then connected them to the wiring hardness so I wouldnt mess up the harness. Well, for some reason the speakers just sound like absolute shit, volume is way lower, when bass hits its like almost a hi-pitch sound and to top it all off, the speaker adapters didnt friggin fit to where I could screw in the 4 screws each so that rattles too!! But whats weird, if I turn the stereo up pretty loud, it sounds like the speakers all of a sudden start trying to push bass out but its super distorted. Do you think this might be an amplifier issue at all? If I were to replace the amp with another factory JBL amp, would the speakers still sound like garbage? I've been wanting to ask someone about this since it all happened
