Small businesses are the heart of the economy! Thanks for recognizing Greg!
$11.50s a bit steep...I pay $7.50 for the same thing here in my area of Sydney. The crunch of the crackle did sound very "tender" though. 🤤
I'm pretty sure Greg is just fucking with me now.
@@samshepherd26 Haha...this comment cracked me up !👍
Yeah I paid 6.50 for the one I recently reviewed
@@PhunkenHungry I just checked your channel and gave you a like.
Are you in Sydney ?
@@evogardens I'm in Adelaide
The bread those Vietnamese bakers make is brilliant with just heaps of butter but a Bahn Mi lifts to another level--McDonalds and Hungry Jacks should pay attention!!
Every thing the vietnamese know about baking , was taught by the french
Ripped off again lol
🔹️ The Vietnamese Baguette Sandwiches are all the same price locally, so the prices really even out, then. $9.50 each. 5 different Varieties available; (1. Pork Belly, (2. Roast Pork, (3. Sesame Beef, (4. Lemongrass Chicken & (5. Crispy Tofu with Caramelised Onions ❗Much better having a standardised price IMEO ❕
Ironically grego I made my own recipe of banh mi just a el cheapo version with pork sausage mince in meatballs with all the Viet/Thai flavours built it the same but just like a Italian/Viet crossover was delish I'm sure you could make your own version and upload it ...we all keen to see your own version of the best oriental influence sandwich
Sounds like sh!t
@@meegoreng8155 it was fucking mean as brotha .. But I'm aussie
How about trying the lemon grass beef Banh Mi? As they are delicious. Well the ones ive had here in WA especially my Wife's family restaurant. The restaurant is called Banh Mi
Grego you've gotta try the Vietnamese Oven at Buranda Village. Bahn mi with pork crackling only $5.80 and it is awesome. Everything there taste great and is all so cheap.
Thanks James! I'll give it a go!
Just around the corner from there in Yeronga opposite Yeronga State School on Park Rd, there's another Vietnamese cafe. Give that one a go, Greggo.
The best pork crackling I've made I used spiced vinegar and salt, it turned out amazing.
Share the recipe please
@@matthewalvarez48 choose a cut of pork with a fat cap of about 1 centimetre thick, score the skin in a checker pattern through the fat cap but not so deep as to cut into the flesh. Here in South Australia we have spiced vinegar available in most stores, not sure about other states but any good quality vinegar works.
Drizzle some vinegar over the skin and massage it in and sprinkle liberally with salt of your choice and massage it in to all the scored skin and fat cap.
Roast in the oven on a medium to high temperature until done and do not baste the skin... The crackling should be crispy but not tough, kinda like the texture of prawn crackers.
Hope this helps.
$11.50 and it's not packed with the meat? Nope! Not getting a high score
Not enough MEAT!!!!! 👎
I Love that BIG amount of MEAT 🌭 👄 in my MOUTH 👄 with CREAM SAUCE 👄 OOOH!!!!! 👄 HOT cream sauce 👄 and Plenty of it 👄 👄
@@danielvallelunga1596it turns you on dont it?
@@ChumDawg02 OOOH!!!!! YEAH!!!!! ALEXANDER!!!!! 🌭 👄 😉
That menu looked delicious 😋 Beautiful & fresh!
They're rare around here, a couple keep having bad inspection scores but for the good ones, I LOVE Vietnamese food.
LOL the day that GregO calls an ambulance cause he locks his snake jaw! :)
Australian Vietnamese food is amazing. Glad to see small businesses thriving 👍
The crackling was cracking! Just not enough of it! Love your show!
Only one piece? bit rich.
11.50? . In sydney they generally average about 6 bucks.
$8 for the crackling pork too
Looks nice, but after eating these from different Vietnamese bakeries in Sydney and the south coast, it doesn’t have as many ingredients and is too expensive.
Our local sells them with:
- Crusty bread roll
- Pork or chicken
- lettuce
- carrot
- cucumber
- marinated onions
- tomato
- spring onions
- mayo
- pate
- home made garlic soy sauce
And of course hold the evil weed (coriander)
All for $6.50.
But all are fresh, tasty and you feel healthier after eating them, especially with a $2 bottle of water.
Small bakeries selling healthy meals for $8.50 puts Maccas to shame!
Oh and chilli of course- either fresh birdseye (hot) or pickled (mild).
I am one of those who hates Coriander aka Cilantro leaves, though I love the dry spice. The greens smell "buggy''to me.Bit of trivia:birds can't taste the heat of chilis, they gobble wild ones down and spread the seeds. The heat defends against mammals like rodents or us,who eat seeds not just the pulp.
Every Sunday I watch a bloke on UA-cam eat -fish and chips- banh mi
Grego's gone all multicultural on us !
My favourite commenter being all confused again 😳
@@evogardens Maybe Bernie is back on the scene 😱
@@stuartmcquade3407 Wonder if Grego's seen "Fatal Attraction" lately ? 😬😉🤣
@@evogardens imagine him coming home to a bunny in the air fryer🤪
Mmmm those bit's of fat you gave to the magpie our my favourite bit's not good for the old heart but as you said pork crackling is a gift from the God's, great as always grego 🍻🙏🙏🙏
$7.5 for a pork roll is higher than I'd like to pay but anything $10 or over is INSANE for a bread roll come on, you can get a pizza or two burgers for that I dont care how good the pork roll is its not worth that much.
Alot of us love the fat mate🤨
Great review. Jst subscribed 👌
… the sauce is likely to be Maggi Seasoning (one of the ingredients is msg).. not oyster sauce… but a Banh mi without it, isn’t authentic… and if you do get a banh mi without it.. you’ll definitely taste the difference. Luv a good banh mi!
you exposed how they screw over their own customers. they definitely didnt expect a repeat visit from you after the overpriced crap they intentionally served you.
Come up to Darwin Grego and try the Aussie/Vietnamese roll. It's called the Pharrkme roll.
$11 for a banh mi?? banh mi should be $6-$7
Please, return back there for a (Part 2) of that Kitchen food🌚
2:33 capsaicin doesnt affect birds
Need to try the bakery in zillmere they make great Bahn mi
VN bakery in Southport has the best
I like to eat one of these after my didgeridoo lesson.
Must be that time of the year I just Reviewed a Bánh mì and dam it was amazing 👏 😉
Crackling is not gods gift 😂😂😂
Your taste buds are amazing scoring it after only eating a quarter
Lucky capsacanoids in chilli don't effect birds like they do to us.
$7.50 here in Melbourne
Looks nice though.
Love a pork crackle Bahn mi 👍😋
$4.50 everywhere else in Brisbane
Unsure I found this helpful to the restaurant. Owning a business at the mercy of google reviews feels dangerous on a daily basis. You don’t know what you’re saying.
And don’t feed fat to magpies.
Yo Greg! Looks like a great Bahn mi! Yummo!
😂
Another place to try for a Banh Mi is Uncle Bill's at Tingalpa, Greggo. Not far from your home.
I feel a Brisbane's best Banh Mi series coming
Nice one Greg! How easily are you finding places to review in Brisbane compared to the GC?
Hey Grego did you end up finding more crackling when eating the rest of the roll?
Love a good Banh Mai especially with the crispy pork.
hay guts, have you ever bitten off more than you can chew? eg like your fingers?
Generous ratings Grego. One little piece of crackling, very fatty meat, and not much actual meat.
Looked fresh, but could of been so much better.
Looked fresh and tasty
It was!
It's pork belly so of course there's gonna be fat *facepalm*
Greco what are you gonna do when you get 300K subs
g'day greggo. it looked like you were really enjoying that one! quick question though. I noticed your script fell out at around 3:04. whoops!
may have been the menu? hehe!
Good morning mate
Morning
you should try the bahn mi factory up at zilmere
i love me a barn me
I'm with you on the fat it's a great way to clog up your arteries.
Grego thought a ban mi came a happy ending huh
Love my Bahn Mi pork rolls Greggo
Looks like a SALAD sandwich 👎 NOT for me 👎 Maybe salad or veg on the side. Dont make my mouth water 👎 Good review 👍 🍽 🍴 🍽 🍴 🍷 🍷 Cheers 🍻
Mmm I love a good Banh Mi fantastic review GregO!
Cheers
I love the original Banh Mi 🤤🤤🤤
Grego my favourite roll you legend
Phuck Mi .
That looks good.
What's the best bahn mi in Brisbane?
why do you call your site Greg's Kitchen when you haven't been in it for weeks - I'm sick of Australian restaurant reviews
I'm going this week!!!!
Thanks for the Video 👍
birds don't feel the heat from chillies! they eat ghost peppers for fun and spread the seeds!
That's why birds have such runny poo. In my uneducated opinion.
@@edstraker8451 well their pee is part of their poo and their pee is part of their poo so yes!
vise versa
Tantalizing there grego
I listened to the video.
Where did the build up go? 5:59
😜❤🇵🇰
Thanks for making me smile 😁 before bed. Good job 👍
Ole Snake jaw loves makin the ladies smile before bed👍😉
Oh My!
Banh Mi! Yay! 🌯 🤤
Banh Mi sandwiches are good.
Great honest review. That chunk of fat was really off-putting.
They probably use a pork belly which is incredibly fatty. Vietnamese people will eat the fat with no problem so I guess that’s why they keep it in and not cut it.
Very high, dredge here
Love a banh mi
cheers, needed my Greg fix for the day
Banh Mi $7 chicken rolls from the bakery taste sooo good
The crackling isn't really tender and the bread isn't really light either 🤣 loved the video, you just need to work on your vocab Greggo!
Hey Greg
Maggi the owner is amazing, great place to eat and the coffee is top notch too.
I had one and it was delicious.
For $11 still better than Subway
Pork rolls are so yummy but looks like a bit skimpy on the meat. Great review mate.
Well Blow me...Grego's eating a Banh mi !
Be careful what you wish for when you say Blow me to old snake jaw 🤣🤣🤣
@@stuartmcquade3407 🤣 Grego could blow an elephant with that gob !
Grego your right next to my house. Come over for a beer mate
00:54 - "KAAAAHAN"!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😠😠
Pork fat is highly nutritious and the fat is actually beneficial for heart Health.
Come on !!!keep it clean
Now that looks fantastic
The only great Banh Mi is mascot Sydney Hong Ha Vietnamese bakery they have been there over 20 years !
So you've been to every vietnamese bakery?
no Patè?
Man the way they eat coriander is like eating lettuce lol
I really like coriander. I guess it's an acquired taste.
Nice review Greggo - love a vietnamese roll over any other take away, they put the rest to shame. When you say banh mi, you should pronounce it like bang not barnnn. The latter is an Americanisation of the word. I know I'm being a pedant, but it really gets my goat! 😁 Listen to the first minute of this video, he says banh mi about 5 times ua-cam.com/video/c_dA1LjORYc/v-deo.html
Try apple butter on it next time.
Looks like a normal subway , but smaller
Definitely better than Subway!
can't have lettuce in a Bahn mi smh
I could drink that fish sauce.
Looks yummy yo and enjoyable plus guaranteed by grego review
