Hello Mark,
Thank you for posting this Bluetooth connecting video. When I read from the manual the part on pairing a device it seemed like it was implying that you have to name the device so I didn't want mess with it anymore when I was one the water.
Yamaha Waverunner should have a in-depth library of videos on everything related to Connext, Operations of the Waverunners, and Cleaning and Proper maintenance.
Since you are growing your UA-cam Channel maybe do a breakdown of the operations of the Connext. That would be so helpful to our International PWC community.
Maybe you can License the videos to Yamaha Corporation!
By the way my Brand New Yamaha Waverunner is a 2023 FX HO!
Hi Steve. Thank you so much for the amazing comment! I agree about the Yamaha tutorials being difficult (or non-existent) to find. Maybe because I'm older, I was expecting a detailed "how to" section to be available somewhere, but I imagine those who are younger figured everything out automatically, almost how you can give a little kid an iPad and they'll master everything about it within 5 minutes. I'm not sure if my videos are up to Yamaha standards for them to use them, but I really appreciate hearing that. I try to make them somewhat fast because I only do this in my spare time, but I try to do them as well as I can with the equipment I have (iPhone 13 and GoPro). Your video did inspire me to make a new playlist that I'll name something like Yamaha WaveRunner How-To or something similar and then I'll put any tutorial videos into it so they're all together. I also would like to make more tutorial videos, but we always end up using them a lot, and I run out of time. Haha. I guess I should take a weekend off. Thank you again for the nice comment and for watching!
Just bought a VXD - awesome machine. Nice job on this video. My complaint is that I often have to re-power my audio if I had it going prior to starting the watercraft.
Thank you for the nice comments. I agree about the VX. It's probably the perfect line of machines Yamaha makes - just the right amount of features. And, I agree about the audio turning off. It's a pain having to turn it back on simply because you turned off your machine to jump into the water for 5 minutes and then are ready to go again.
Many thanks for the great video.
You're welcome. I hope it helped. Thank you for watching!
@@MarkDHall It helped me a lot. Many thanks again.
Ours won’t even turn on. Is there something else that needs to be connected?
Hi - On ours the buttons are hard to press. We have to push them kind of deep and hold them for a second or two. Give that a try and see how if it helps.
Just curious - did you get your speakers working?
Ours doesn't even turn on either :(
@@ne4252 That's weird. I would definitely reach out to the dealer. Ours turns on, but as I mentioned, it has to be pressed very hard.
hello! i tried doing what you did in the video on my brand new Yamaha VX Cruiser HO but when i press the button- nothing. Do you have any idea what the problem could be?
Hi - I wish I had an answer. I've unpaired and paired mine a couple times, and it always synced up right away. I know when I first turn it on, I have to hit the play button on my phone to get it to start playing. The play button on the PWC doesn't work until I've manually started playing the music from within the music app on the phone. I'd give the dealer a call and see if they have any thoughts.
I have a problem where my phone connects for.
1 second then says, pair unsuccessful even though it paired a few seconds earlier.
You have a fix for this
Hi - I don't have an answer. I tried to pair an older Android phone and it worked right away. Unpaired and repaired my iPhone, and it worked too. I wonder if it needs a PIN? I did a search and couldn't find anything specific for the VX Cruisers, but for some of Yamaha's machines, the pin is 0000. Not sure how that would really be the case, though, since it was working earlier. Maybe call a dealer?
Thank you for trying to help I genuinely appreciate it :)
@@COLOREDLESS. One thing I thought of - with ours, if we shut off the engine or restart it, the bluetooth disconnects. I honestly haven't paid close attention to it but know I have to hit the power on the PWC's bluetooth controls again. When I do, it automatically reconnects, but sometimes I have redo it manually. It's been bad weather here, so we haven't been out for a few days, but the next time I go, I'll pay attention to when it actually shuts off and what I have to do to get it going again. I think it stays on when I turn off the boat, but I have to relaunch the bluetooth when I start the engine, but it could totally shut off when I turn off the PWC too. It's one of those things I kind of stopped paying attention to and just automatically press the button to turn it back on. Hoping to maybe go out soon, but the weather looks a bit rainy for a few days so not sure.
@@COLOREDLESS. So we went out this weekend, and I purposely played with the audio feature, and it disconnected A LOT, and it was frustrating. I couldn't really find a pattern, but whenever I turned the PWC on or off, it disconnected and shut off. What a PAIN! It would stay on for awhile (maybe 5 minutes or so) if I connected to it and didn't play anything. Eventually it would shut off probably to save battery. I couldn't get it to immediately disconnect as happens for you though. I think it's just a "wonky" setup. I wish it would stay on when you shut off or start the PWC.
@@MarkDHall, I think I found a solution, I fixed it by disconnecting my phone entirely then repairing it, took some try’s but eventually Bluetooth found it and picked it up. I don’t know why It did not work exactly the first time though. Thank you so much for all your help I appreciate the commitment to solve a problem just for one person. Keep being you your amazing

Not sure what that means?
