  • If you're looking to take a trip down memory lane, this video is for you. If you're from the 90's or the early 2000's, you're probably aware that LeapFrog was a very popular company for educational toys for children. One of those toys was the LeapPad Learning System series, including the QuantumPad which was targeted toward an older audience. I was lucky enough to score myself one of these in 2012 with a few books and cartridges. I had a blast with this thing, but unfortunately, I lost everything years ago. And just recently remembering it, I decided to buy one with one of my favorites book I used with it. Hope you guys enjoy the video :)

Oh my god this thing has been locked away in my memory for years. Completely forgot about it! Ah, it’s so nice to see again as a grown adult lol. I have the faintest memory of learning about bones with it and clicking on “femur” LOL

I still have my leap pad stored on my shelf. I didn't have the heart to get rid of it even if I don't touch it anymore. I have the plus writing model with the mechanical pencil. All my books are gone somewhere except for two I think. One of which is a quantum leap books. You don't need a special leap pad version to use any of those these special books, it just works. My version has a built in demo mode that came with a book but I lost that. Maybe I can find a way to reprint it.
Anyway thanks for the trip down my childhood! Definitely enjoyed this!

Was it called Dinosaurs Before Dark? That’s the only QuantumPad book I see about dinosaurs

no idea bro. i only remember that it was about dinosaurs and i really loved it. i also believe it was on a completely separate unit. I remember the machine being red and it had real janky microphone on the bottom that was always broke cause i would chew on it. haha

Just bought a Quantum Leap iQuest with a starter cartridge, and a possibly STILL SEALED copy of Dinosaurs before Dark for the Quantum Pad. I’ll probably get one for a video on this or my xtra channel.
Aside from that, the GO sound… oh god that takes me back to the days of my blue and green LeapPad, reading my copy of Spongebob Squarepants: Salty Sea Stories for the 700th time.

I wish I had more books for my QuantumPad when I owned it as a kid

@@nickalvizo felt the same for my VSmile and LeapPad. But with the age of micro transactions everywhere and 100GB games that are still unfinished I’ve had enough. If I wanna jump back into the nostalgic side of things, and actually expand my library past what I had, now is the perfect time. At least then, they’re mine for good.

@@NALTOHQ I had a Vsmile as well. Idk what happened but I think it broke due to liquid damage

@@nickalvizo I think we just got rid of it. But I have the exact same model now, an original Model 6122 from 2004. :) it’s so tiny and cute. I just need an adaptor or some C batteries…
