The 20 year shelf life isn't for the steel itself, it's for the fraglock coating on the level 3+ plates. The rubberized material has a life span of 20 years before it begins to breakdown. The steel itself is good for life.
Are pretty much all cheap plate carriers capable of adding a plate? Or are some of rhose 20 dollar ones not jave space for armoir plate? Seems like they hqve ro and that you could even add ur own extra sewing in straps
I got the same plates and trauma pads along with a plate carrier that came with it called the bear cat, I like your carrier allot better though as mine has one big pocket in the back the goes into the side pockets as well giving the plates room to move around a little bit. I like the separate pockets and extra pocket for trauma liners, by the way all the 4 3+ plates and carrier weighed 24.6 lbs so not bad at all for steel and close to the weight of ceramic plates!
Theyre eva foam inserts and theyre good at preventing the ribs from breaking. Eva foam is the same protective foam used in knee pads. When the plate gets hit with the bullet, instead of the force being concentrated onto the impact spot, the foam pad will disperse the force over a larger area reducing the likelyhood of broken bones
I got some heavy ass plates. I could not afford the Hesco ones and went with RMA level IV plates. I weigh 180 pounds @ 6 ft. Front and rear plates are 8.3 pounds each, side plates are 2.5 pounds each. My plate carrier empty weight is around 3 pounds. Total weight of plate carrier and hard plates all around is 24.6 or so pounds. That is 13.6% of my body weight. If I am running a minimal setup of say 6 rifle magazines in pouches on the carrier then I am around 31 pounds. 17% of my total body weight. If I was a rich man, Hesco plates would run me 20.4 pounds no magazines or pouches. 27 pounds with minimal 6 mag setup. That is 15% of my body weight. Not much of a difference imo BUT those who have experience say every little bit of weight reduction HELPS. An Army friend who is a Staff Sergeant said I should get soft body armor to go with the hard body armor. He said for shrapnel to protect myself and others around me if I got hit with a round. THANK YOU for this video. I am a complete newbie when it comes to things like this. I am running an LBT Sentintel Quick Release plate carrier with RMA 1155 MC level IV plates and side plates. Costed me slightly under $1200 with everything I bought on pretty steep sales.
How do most people put this plate carrier on ? I just put it on from above my shoulders like putting on a t-shirt. Is there a better way I don't know about that isn't annoying ?
They make plate carriers for airsoft, they don’t carry real plates. They use foam plates instead. Maybe do some research before bothering people on the internet.
It was great up until you showed us youre “compliant rifle” but hush hush im sure you may or may not have some non compliant ones hidden....jk... or am i?
Now days go with poly plates. Wayyyy lighter and also multi hit capable. Untill youve held a steel plate in real life you cant realize how crazy heavy they are
@@xiiixlllvlllxiiix level IV RMA 1155 plates are 8.3 lbs each. AR500 plates are stupid heavy, and they don't even fucking work. In the armor world, they're laughed at.
You make some questionable claims about ceramic plates. Current gen ceramic are multi-hit rated and there are plenty of tests that show them taking multiple hits in the same spot. Steel plates also transfer a lot of energy to the user when hit. Trauma pads only reduce this.
Not really. There are more Americans with guns than service people. Are you saying that safety gear for shooting is invalid? Makes no sense. Have a nice day.
@@Citizen_0_5 I think the idea was if you don't have the common sense to be able to put a plate into a slot then you probably aren't going to survive Tha boog

Great video appreciate you showing how it’s done.
Just wanted to see if you could put on 3 armor plates in a row with the armor satchel, wanted to see if it works the same way it does on Mw
Lol
Very cool Kanye
Sailor. I was stationed up north in yokusaka 01 to 05. When were you in Japan?
Win here and you return to the frontline, but if you lose, you're done!
Are you sure those trauma pads aren’t just foam inserts 😭 looks like em to me
True
The Purple cushion is the real trauma pad 😂😂
I think they are soft armor

pro tip: watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching a lot of movies lately.
