Just a suggestion, start some plants earlier than the rest, for the purpose of hand pollinating.. I had to keep my starter plants indoors cuz I live in Wisconsin. Good luck 🤞
Thank you! I had the opposite failure. My cucumbers grew well, but my peppers didn't. 😊
Peppers love the heat mine really took off when it was the hottest but watering often is key. My cucumbers looked sad all season. We always have next season to try again😮💨😀
Had multiple crop failures this year...last year had an abundance of zucchini so many...this year...none not a single one...and my melons as well this year..it was a weird year for us
I think the wildfires and smoke really put a damper on gardening this year. The smoke reduced air quality. My cucumbers failed terribly
Planting a few parthenocarpic cucumber plants might help as insurance against pollination problems. Not sure how they are with seedsaving, though. Ours do cross-pollinate with other varieties and do produce seeds.
Yes good point. They cross pollinate so you may get varying cucumbers but hey it’s worth it to at least get some
Is it ok just to leave the ripe pumpkins on the vine? They'll be for decoration and I need them to last till Nov...
The vines will die back and they should be fine unless you get a lot of rain. They last long even after picking them in a cool dark place.
