I hope your health is doing much Better , Been praying for you. Beautiful country side up there. Also one of the easiest ways to Decrystalize honey is to place the jars on a cookie sheet, place them in the oven , close the door and turn on the oven light. in a few hours the honey will be all cleared up.

Glad to hear you had a great season . Like you I am in awe of this new generation. They are Strong , resilient , smart , and different then us. Don't worry about loosing old ways I didnt learn to can, beekeep, garden, metalcast, woodwork, sawmilling, chickens and more until after my forties. If I can learn they definitely can :)
Also reading up on grafting and nicot queen rearing at the moment and building more boxes, lids and bottom boards.

    Tim,
If you heat honey above 130-140 degrees it looses all of its health benefits…. Heating it up to right before boiling likely is way too high…. Water boils at 212 degrees…. I would not heat my honey over 140 degrees

@@theboonecountybeekeeper you can still recrystallize at 130 I use a candy thermometer and a pot of water on low low

I believe Tim's advice is sound. And ECF, you are correct as well. I believe that if the water is not boiling, and if the heat is turned off before the honey is added, the actual temperature of the honey will not reach 140. Using a candy thermometer is a good idea to be sure.

@@rtxhoneybees if you are heating above 140 you are killing the health benefits…. Tim stated to heat it up to,right before boiling which is closer to 200 degrees as water boils at 212 degrees

@@ECP I agree that heating the honey to 140 kills the health benefit. However, I do not believe that the 180 to 200 degree heat in the water transfers to the honey at that high of a temperature. There will be significant heat loss during the transfer. It would take some experimentation to know exactly how much. Tim says in his video to heat the water to that temperature. He does not say to heat the honey to that.
