I went to your shop and saw your "love" shirt, I saw someone wearing it before and now I regret not trying to sign to them, pretty awesome I actually met someone with it. Maybe I'll buy one and see if anyone signs to me.
We are teaching ASL in our homeschooling and I want to say that you and your husband are such a gift. You are so excellent at teaching and explaining some of the thought behind why certain things are signed in the ways that they are, it helps us to remember how to do it. Thank you so much!! By far the best ASL learning channel I have found.
This warms my heart. As a teacher, its my hope each student can be able to grasp the basics of ASL and have an appreciate for the language and culture. Thank you for teaching it to your kids.
Same, we just started homeschooling! my daughter wants to start baby sitting so we though that would be cool to have a babysitter than can baby sit deaf kids! We love you and your husbands channel!
@@LearnHowtoSign I am also teaching ASL in our Christian co-op and our kiddos LOVE your videos! We look forward to them weekly and appreciate all your hard work! THANK YOU!!!! ♥
I told someone a few weeks ago that before you guys came along, I felt that I was learning asl at a snail’s pace, now I feel like I jumped on a rocket although I still have a long way to go. Thanks for your videos.
For several months, I have tried to learn basic ASL with flash cards and books. Without any deaf friends or co-workers I found it difficult to use my new-found skills or retain what I had learned. Viewing your videos has helped immensely. I learned how important it is to use facial expressions with signs and how to connect those words to form sentences a deaf person would understand more clearly. Great stuff, please keep it up
A lot of the signs are very intuitive, that and your explanations make them easy to catch. I use the signs even when nobody at home will understand yet, just to get used to the movement of my hands, now I have more signs to practice haha thanks!
Thank you so much for the time and effort you, your husband and children put into your ASL channel. Teaching ASL as part of our homeschool curriculum as well. I’ve been stressed at times and your videos bring peace in our home. I agree that y’all are such a gift. We love watching and practicing at the same time. Your explanations (why certain things are signed, posture or facial expressions, etc) definitely helps us as well. We love your ASL learning channel and family! 💕🤟🏽
Hello! I am not a CODA but I grew up around deaf people. I also studied ASL in college. I am now teaching a beginner's class to my close friends and family (the side that wasn't involved with the deaf community). I love your videos and send them often to my students to help widen their vocabulary, but I was wondering if you could do a grammar/syntax series, especially conversation syntax. You teach some of ASL grammar in your phrases but you never explain the rules or why something is done. I just love you as a resource and think it would be so beneficial for my students! Thanks again!
Hi there! I'm a new signer from the Philippines. Thank you for all your efforts with every videos. I'm praying to have deaf ministry in our church, but there's nobody to teach me. It's a blessing I found your YT Channel. God bless Ma'am Meredith and your hubby.
I am SO grateful to have this content you provide!!! I've studied ASL over 5yrs ago with a Deaf teacher and reached level three. Due to life changes I fell out of contact with the community w/o developing strong relationships that would help me practice. My purpose was to bring this to more local churches, business communities and provide resources to the deaf community among the hearing. I hope to pickup where I left off but strength my connections. Taking your youtube classes is reconnecting me and I plan to join your program in a week or two. Yes, and I will support by purchasing a T-Shirt as well.
Indeed, BEST channel, Perfect beautiful, professional teacher, very attractive! Clear understandable explanation, very pleasant to watch and learn! Great job! Keep up ! Thanks a lot! Very useful!
I love your channel. I am going deaf in my left ear so I'm learning just in case I lose my hearing completely. I'm practicing with my husband and siblings too.
I love you guys! I binged Switched at Birth and fell in love with ASL. I picked up vocabulary as I watched the series and wanted to learn more. Now, I’m using ASL in daily conversation. I still have a long way to go, but I am loving the journey. Meredith, your explanations are amazing and easy to follow. The grammatical lessons are great and they make all the difference in understanding ASL sentence structure. Now, my hubby is learning with me. He’s been able to communicate with clients who are deaf. That is the biggest blessing! Thank you and your hubby for all that you do!! Your videos make learning ASL fun. 🥰
Learning ASL has been on the bucket list for a VERY long time! Just finished my first course at the local CC and your videos have been very educational. The structure is easy to follow and very user (novice) friendly. Appreciate the explanations and the examples that you demonstrate. Having the ASL signs demonstrated in a clear manner with the verbal information complimenting the execution of the hand/finger movements is extremely helpful and a well thought-out method of teaching. Greatly appreciate your contribution. An A+ for stage, sound & video(grapher)--tastefully done, family friendly and EZ on the eyes & ears!
I am learning ASL for my daughter! I have been watching all of your videos daily and they are very helpful. I don't live in a community that has many resources for Dead & Hard of Hearing People. I have to learn online. Appreciate what you do!
I got my thyroid taken out and really am injured from it. I started watching your video because of my voice that can’t speak or make a long conversation for a long time. Learning body language is another way that can be easy for me to communicate with others. Thank you!!!
Meredith and Brian, love your videos. I just came upon them a couple of weeks ago and have been watching one after another. I work in the DHH field as an office assistant. I wasn't required to be proficient in ASL, but was suggested I learn basic sign. I have three co-workers that are deaf, and want to be able to communicate better with them, then just emailing back and forth our requests. I also work on the campus of the Wisconsin School for the Deaf and occasionally communicate with staff there. You are one of the best teachers I have run across giving lessons. You make it fun to learn with your enthusiastic approach and aren't at all boring and S...L...O...W, like some others I have watched. I will keep watching them over until I can memorize them. You asked once in a video if we have any suggestions on videos. You did that one video on different jobs (fireman, cop, doctor, etc.), I would love to watch one with the different office signs in it. (copy, print, edit, mail, desk, table, computer, phone (you did that sign already) fax, send, etc. etc. I think this would help in all professions of working in an office. Forgive me if you already did one, I'm still trying to make it through them all. Thanks, and keep up the wonderful learning videos.
Thank you Karen! This means so much. Thank you for all you do working with those in the DHH field. Also I will add your suggestions to our list! (We do have a series on jobs from a few months ago. Let me know if you can't find it.)
I just came across your page. ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!! I've been learning ASL for about 4 years now, but always struggled with sentence structure. This helps tremendously....please keep them coming!
I greatly appreciate the opportunity to learn. I work in Victim Services (mainly victims of Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, and Human Trafficking) and realize that these services, while not always needed, are definitely a way to assist clients that may be too scared to seek services because of a language barrier.
I really appreciate you guys doing this for people who want to learn asl, once again I love this channel and will tell anyone wanting to learn where they can find a great teacher and teachings.
Thank you for these lessons to learn to sign. I'm learning so I can communicate better with my grandchildren. I wish for blessings to you and your family.
Meredith-for me, you are the best sign instruction on the internet, thanks, great pace, choices, manner. I’m not good at languages but love learning ASL just because it’s creative and fun, hope to use it one day. Here’s a suggestion of what I’d like to see-a video for explaining beginner status. I learned from one clip how to say, “I’m learning ASL on the internet” but would like to learn the following to practice more-I only know a little, I really like learning it, I can understand just a bit, if you sign slowly. I’m not very good. ASL is fun but also really challenging, especially when it’s fast- all those phrases. Hard to title that video but maybe “explaining your beginner status in asl?”
You’re amazing! I'm so glad that I stooped here to learn ASL. I'm in love with the way you make every sign so easy to understand and to practice as well! Thank you so much! 💜🙌
